About two years ago I lost 3 stone, healthy eating and exercising. I kept it off for 6 months, then life got messy (elderly parents) and almost 2.5 stone has gone back on.
So annoyed with myself, so started being sensible again yesterday, last straw was having to but clothes in big size having got rid of them and nothing fits Sad
Accountability here helps, so starting point 13-6

Hey!!

DS is 9 weeks old and I’ve piled on the pounds since becoming pregnant (over 4 stone total). I naturally lost two stone through birth and breastfeeding but haven’t had the motivation I thought I would and can’t shift the last 2 stone. I’m starting a calorie controlled diet tomorrow and thought I’d join here for motivation Smile

This is JUST the thread I need. I'm so miserable about my weight Sad. I've just looked at holiday pics and I feel embarrassed. The only ones I've shared are of dh and kids or just a headshot of me! I look like a beached whale lying on the sunbed.

Starting point 13.7 (Just weighed)
Aiming for 10.7

I don't know how long it will take but I really want to be in a bikini next summer!

I know what you mean about the photos ! That is the main reason I want to shift the pounds quickly. I have loads of photos of my son with his father and other members of family , even friends but none with me and him as I just can’t face the photos! I don’t want to look back and regret not having pics together of his early days so need to sort it out!

Starting weight 12.12lb and aiming for 10.5lb

So all similar weight loss goals!

What are you guys following , calorie controlled / low carb / SlimmingWorld?

CocoLoco87 · 25/07/2018 14:50

I'm not really following anything, just using the gym and a bit of self-loathing to get me going Grin

I find it difficult with small children to have time / energy for gym, especially as nursery is shut till September. I'll have to go in evenings when dh is around. I'll aim for 2 gym sessions a week as well as general cutting down of portion size.

Here. I lost almost 2 stone last year, needed to do another 1.5 but somehow gained half a stone Blush so it's being sorted out as of tomorrow (it's my birthday today).

No snacks no sweets no seconds, and probably 5:2.

Shall we have a weekly weigh in to help keep us on track? And obviously post whenever we need extra encouragement or if we want to toot our horns at any spectacular self-control we've shown Halo

I will join you. 2 years ago I lost 3 stone, now 1.5 has gone back on and I'm pissed off with myself. Exercised for the first time in months last night even though I nearly drowned in my own sweat. I can't do weigh ins because I chucked my scales for being wildly inconsistent and messing with my head!

Today I've had a warburton thins sandwich with roast chicken, a dab of light philly and salad. Chicken and salad tonight as well I think, and some more exercise....

I’m up for a weekly weigh in! I’ve never tried 5:2 but may start that soon but I think I’m going to stick to 1500 cals a day (also part breastfeeding). I’m hoping to join a gym soon but I’m sooo unfit I think I’ll start with some light walks with the dog and baby and keeping on top of the housework!

HotStickyTired happy birthday Smile

I’m just doing sensible eating and portion control. Minimal sugar and bread. My big downfall is evening snacking got to get this under control. Try to do 10,000 steps a day but work and being too hot is stopping this at the moment

Hi could I join please? I’m not weighing myself yet (as too scared!) but I wear size 18 trousers and 16 tops. Carry all my weight on bum and hips ☹️. Been like this too long and as others have said, I hate the way I look in photos. So I’m using MyFitnessPal and tracking everything I eat. On day 4 at the mo!

Good morning! Thanks for the birthday wishes :)

Well the first day of the rest of my life (😂) has started well. I made it to the pool for a swim before work. Then I had a bacon sarnie - bear with me - ok it's more calories than a bowl of porridge but it's much more satisfying so I'm not going to be tempted by a mid morning KitKat. Soup and fruit for lunch, and dinner is whatever DH makes. No snacking. That is my biggest downfall.

Hotstickytired I'm with you on the soup it's my go to lunch when loosing weight, need it to cool down for hot soup!
Day off with friends today aim to be sensible and no dinner tonight or maybe a small amount of soup

Morning everyone! This hot weather has really thrown a spanner in the soup works! That's my standard lunch at work during winter but I can't even think about that when it's 30+ degrees!

My eating 'plan' is 2 pieces of toast for breakfast and then I fill 3 snack tubs with food and that's all I can eat for the rest of the day. I can choose what to put in them but at the moment I just fancy crunchy salad! Ive been having one at 2.30 and the other 2 at 7.30pm. I can have yogurt in the evening too.

The last 2 days on this have been ok, although I have been a bit more irritable with the DC which I think is down to low blood sugar Blush

Morning all!

Mmm bacon sarnie .. if you’ve done the swim you’ve earned it and the rest of the day healthy so all good! I missed the shops yesterday so other half bought back a pizza for dinner but I managed to limit myself to two slices rather than the whole thing which i would normally demolish plus snacks. I have a meal out Saturday for my friends birthday at one of my fave restaurants, that’s going to be the struggle!!

Orange89 · 26/07/2018 08:53

CocoLoco87 that sounds very healthy! Have you worked out your cals on that? Normally I am all or nothing with dieting so go a little more extreme than I am atm but I’m breastfeeding so have been advised not to. I’m going to make the shops today so I can stock up on healthy foods! Soup is definitely a winter dish for me too, although I did hear that you should actually eat hot foods to cool you down! ... No thanks !!

I have had a good day (I’m in NZ so 9.30pm on Thursday here). I’ve stuck to my calories on mfp.

I had two pieces of toast with marmite.
Two boiled eggs on two cruskits and a mandarin.
Risotto and a butter biscuit.
Plus four cups of tea no sugar 😊
Pretty pleased with myself!

Orange89 i haven't worked out calories but will try to!

Report
CocoLoco87 · 26/07/2018 14:27

Having consulted Google and packaging, I work it out to be 1111 yes, oddly specific number calories. This doesn't include a bowl of fruit a day, which I really can't be bothered to work out Grin

Having written out everything I'm eating (only on day 3, but still...) I think my downfall is humous, cocktail sausages and cheese. The amount of chicken I'm eating is only 50cal so I should probably put that in my lunch pot as well as dinner pot.

I am a bit of a cheese fiend but maybe I can find a lower calorie option than emmentaal. And humous... well I'm not sure I can give that up really! This number includes the coffees I drink but not the wine

Ita crazy listing it all out. When I look at it in the pots it doesn't seem much at all, and yet the calories are nearly what a 'normal' person is recommended to eat Blush this is going to be quite a challenge!

Well today wasn’t too bad, avoided wine with lunch, had two courses and sensible choices. Small slice of dry bread and couple of tablespoons of baked beans plus nectarine for dinner. Mitigated by 16,000 steps
Four days in a row with no snacking at all
