Diff aims, diff gains ...
I follow iifym with Team RH, I'm struggling a bit with my health this year so progress isn't as fast as last year but it's taught me so much about myself, my body and why I'm important, most importantly because I'm satisfied with my food I don't binge
Goals:
StarWeights section of gym
Star Size 10 clothes
Star 35lbs weight loss

Hello! My aims are a little different but I'll have a go.

I'm trying to learn to deal with stress by playing musical instruments, and by a few other methods. The hope is that if I can get that right then my appetite might come back to normal. It's been a bit wonky post-baby.

Cheers mammy :)

Glad to have this thread.

Today’s weight 15st 11lb!
I was pretty much spot on 20st in January 2017. Lost a lot last year despite (or because of) the pregnancy but have totally stalled since Cagletini started solids and thus had less feeds from me!

Struggling at the moment with stress, makes me crave carbs which are my downfall. I eat healthy meals a lot of the time, but have a bad snacking habit.

Eating LCHF during the pregnancy (due to gestational diabetes) was fantastic, but I have found it hard to follow since she was born. Why is it easy to do something for my child but impossible to do it just for me?!

I work on weekly averages as weigh myself every day as part of Team RH so this week I'm looking at 169.5lbs (12st 1.5lbs) but as you can see in the graph, (can't upload image now :( ! ) I'd great success last year and I hope to achieve this again. Lots of stresses this year.

Cag we prioritise our children definitely, you've maintained that weight loss though so that's a good thing.

Sunny it's still diet related

Thanks Mammy

I also do rh with Mammy. I'm not doing so well at the minute as I'm not hitting my steps so during at a constant 130lbs ish.

I want to lose a little more as I'm quite short but I'm concentrating on the fitness side and the healthy food side more.

I find it cheaper and easier to get frozen veg from Iceland and Aldi. Aldis slim well range is lovely.
Also their giant pots of fage rip off.

Are you going to note progress each day here like we do on the frugaleers? I'm finding it a real challenge at the moment as I have a stupid virus that is also stopping me eating. Any encouragements is good right now tbh.

This morning, salt 'n' shake crisps for me. Woohoo!

14st 8 this morning. I’ve lost a stone since mid April quite by accident due to life stress but have kept it off. I’m not actively trying to lose at the moment though I could stand to lose 4 stone but I am actively trying not to gain any back and thinking about how to gradually lose some more pounds. LCHF worked brilliantly for me last year and I loved it but I love carbs too and once I slipped back into eating carbs it was hard to do so in moderation.
At the current point in life where I’m trying to juggle lots of things and quick meals are important lchf probably isn’t going to work for me though I will try and reintroduce some more yummy lchf meals at weekends when we have more time

Can do sunny.
Day planned out food wise. I'm short on protein as I have no food left in the house. Might have to resort to going to Holland and Barrett for powder

Mammy how are you finding 1800 or are you completely off plan at the minute?

Hi just checking in here.
I’m doing weightwatchers Flex. To be honest I was on the verge of quitting ww as I’d become really jaded about the whole thing. But when they launched flex I could definitely see this working for me, and it is. I’ve lost just over a stone this year, only another 4.5 to go, lol. Daft as it sounds I also started going to a new group which kind of gave me a new start as well.

Got Clubbercize this morning and it’s day 1 of my plank challenge. We are going out tonight so I’m sticking to stuff that doesn’t have a points value and drinking loads of water. Might sound like I’m starving myself but I’ve had scrambled eggs and bacon medallions for breakfast (1sp for the bacon). Then lunch is salmon fillets with salad plus 2 mini pittas and a dollop of hummous (2 sp for the pittas and 2 for the hummous). Dinner I think I’ll do a chicken and bulgar wheat salad, rather than grabbing a wrap at macdonalds when I take the boys there later. I can eat it while I’m getting ready.

The pub we are going to is quite a way away but we’ve already decided we are going to walk there and grab a lift home from DHs folks who live round the corner. So that should bit of extra exercise should help balance out the gin! Wouldn’t surprise me if after a few we decide it’s a good idea to walk home too!

lifelong I think you're same height as me? I'm 5'2.5". Currently 40lbs heavier than you though Sad but I'm in a good place with it too, haven't continued to gain as was the pattern in past few years. So if nothing it's halted that trend.
I stopped losing on 1800 so I contacted Charmayne and went to 1700 club but I think I should go back to 1600 club until my activity levels rise. Will do this on Monday with being away at the weekend.
I'm doing the mfp & diet side of things just steps and activity levels are at an all time low.

curves I think your attitude to 'diet' or 'lifestyle change' is exactly right, you're moving more, you're watching what you eat to allow for what you can't plan so that you'll have the best result that you can.

I've always thought the 80/20 rule is brilliant like in frugaleering where we watch the everyday stuff so that we have the money for a treat/unforeseen event, same is true with food, if you eat well the majority of the time then there's a little leeway for when you need it.

I've got health troubles that I should get a diagnosis for next week, hopefully, and that might lead to weight loss happening as well. We can only hope.

I keep thinking that the answer to getting food not to be too complicated is to get all of the rest of life into a sensible sort of state, so I'm working really hard at getting everything in balance again, now that the baby years are done.

I think I'd really like to use this thread as a place to record all the work I do at keeping the balance right, as it's otherwise so easy to take care of everyone else and forget myself.

I started today by going back to bed for an extra hour's sleep which worked nicely.

I think that’s a good point sunny when life gets chaotic food is the first thing to get messed up here.

I see what you mean Cag. So maybe if I can get everything else on an even keel then the eating stuff will come right last. That's a good thought. I'll keep bashing on then.

I've been extremely well behaved today and done a lot of sleeping.

I've done much better eating as a consequence:

Crisps (lots)
Sunflower seeds (also lots)
tin of sardines.

Lots of water.

Yay!

Zzzzzz

I'm the opposite sunny when I'm in control of food everything else slots into place. Today was haphazard as its one day in the year that all bosses are guaranteed to be missing, so we treat ourselves.
Started with sausage bagel while driving to work, scone for break, went out for lunch had lovely warm goats cheese salad - brown homemade bread, and on the road I've had a can of monster ultra to counteract running out of my energy supplement. This is a rare 'treat' I drink only water rest of the time

Gosh mammy that sounds good then.

I know what you mean in a way. In my normal state I function much much better on a day where I'm really well fed. This is not my normal state though. My metabolism seems to have packed up from exhaustion and I'm gradually rebuilding it.

Your food today sounds lovely. :-)

lifelongfrugaleer · 13/07/2018 20:47

I'm an inch and 1/4 taller than you mammy I say 5;4 but I'm not quite.
You were doing well on 1600 if I recall until your activity levels rose so sounds like a good call.

I'm still stuck and faffing. I just can't seem to get 100% so not going to ask for more advice yet.

I feel worse of my food is out of kilter

It has not been a good eating day. I sort of managed three seperate periods of eating and a snack but frankly none of it apart from a banana was good!

I think you did well to grab three lots of eating wolf given what you're up against at the moment. Well done there.

Wolf what you're going through is incredibly tough and without warning is a complete shell shock to the mind & body. You need to look after yourself though because you need your strength for the rest of what lies ahead.

Life I didn't realise you were a giant Grin
Yes I was doing well on 1600 until I was ravenous with extra exercise. I'm going to go back to it until my steps are up I think & review it again myself. I can't ask for advice when I haven't applied the last lot correctly.

Oh dear. Oh dearohdearohdear.....

Got a lift to the pub for friends birthday. Drank lots of wine...... staggered home hoping it’d help sober me up. It didn’t. Woken this morning by DS1 wanting to be picked up from his sleepover. Didn’t dare drive so he made his own way.

Bacon sandwich and coffee by the bucket load is the breakfast for me today, sod the calories. Lots of water and I’ll be back on track.
