Anyone fancy joining a ‘vanity pounds’ thread?

Wondering if anyone else is in the same boat as me - not overweight but would like to lose a few pounds?
I am 5’ 3” and weigh 9stone. I look ok, but def have lots of wobbly bits despite running and a couple of hiit sessions a week.
Would love to get to 8st 7lb, but my love of wine and salty snacks does not help! Eat mostly healthily apart from this.
Have been using happyscale to weigh every day, managed to get to 8st 11.5lb earlier in the month but now back to where I started 🙄.
Any tips from anyone? First world problem I know!

Me please! I had success with the "Lose a stone in 5 weeks" thread a couple of months ago (although it took me longer than 5 weeks!) but have now just plateaued.

My stats and goal are the same as yours!

I'm using MFP to track calories, and am getting back on the wagon of eating lots of lean protein and cutting down on bread and pasta!

This is me too. I'm 5ft 4in and weigh 9st 3lbs, size 10. I'm happy with everything except my thighs and hips, I just want a few more lbs to come off from that area.

My downfall is chocolate and the fact DH is a feeder 🙈

I've got a Fitbit and am making an effort to move more. I've joined a yoga class but struggle to find time and energy for exercise. I've got 4 children and the youngest (10 months) doesn't sleep well. I'm always so busy with house/family tasks I'm exhausted when DH gets home.

Glad it’s not just me! I think half the problem is that I feel ok most of the time but know I would look so much better a bit lighter.
Also, when you’re short it only takes putting on 3 or 4 lbs for it to make a difference to your clothes. I need more leeway!
I do use MFP intermittently and it does work but I get bored logging everything.
Shall we check in each other and report how we are doing? X

Hello. I'll join you. I could do with shifting a few pounds, ideally from my stomach but I'll settle for anywhere. I do well in the day but then snack in the evening. Reporting in here might make me a bit more accountable.

I'm in. 5'3" and went from 9.4 to 8.10 by cutting out the crap and booze for the last 5 months. I look so much better, but I've recently put a couple of pounds back on.

I'd like to get to 8.7 really; I'm so small boned a few pounds makes a big difference.

Me please. I'm just under 5' 7" and 9 stone 3 and I'd love to be 8st 12 pounds as that's my optimum weight. These last few pounds are so tricky. I find social occasions ruin it for me - if I was a hermit I could crack it easily - but meals out and weekend social events see me eating and drinking way more than I should. I am going to try and cut back on alcohol for a couple of weeks before I go on holiday.

Tinkly, that is great although the fact it took you 5 months and you cut out booze and junk depresses me!
Well done on having the willpower. Do you exercise?
Welcome to the other thread joiners, let’s see if we can do this 😀

Do you think we should have a set weighing day?

Report

Wine I'm disabled so I struggle to exercise. I do have an exercise bike I use sometimes and do toning stuff. It's hard but I'm determined not to slide into chubbiness though.

I'll sign up too please.

Another shortie here, 5'4 and ideally need to lose 5 pounds by August as going on holiday. Weigh 10 stone atm, so would like to be around 9.7 if possible. It really shows on a small frame.

Will have to get really strict - no peanut butter, no almonds, no alcohol along with all the other stuff on the 'no' list.

Tinkly, that is great if you can’t exercise - I can imagine you have to be extra strict with the calories.
Am happy to have a set weigh in day and report our progress, don’t mind what day.... I am weighing everyday like a saddo at the moment as I thought it may keep me on the straight and narrow 😂.

I'll join you! I'm the same height as you Grin I'm about 8st 10 at the mo - would love to lose 6 or 7 lbs as that's when my clothes feel the best. Like you I love wine and salty snacks!!!

Full disclosure - I am on my second glass of wine tonight. But I've had no snacks today, just good meals. And I did a short workout for the first time in weeks months Blush

I’d like to join, possibly bigger than a lot of you but not overweight at all, 10st 6lbs, 5ft 6” and definitely could stand to lose 10lbs or so. Have put it off as I’ve been training for an ultra marathon so have to eat a lot to fuel my training (that’s what I tell myself at least). I eat a lot and it’s mainly healthy but very simple changes would see a quick change.

Self discipline is all I need and some motivation from here I guess!! This time last year I was a lot happier at 9st 10lb.

I'll join! I'm nearly the same as you OP, 5'4", 9 stone 4 and would like to be 8 stone 7 - 8 stone 10 again. Had a bad few months and piled it on!!

Adaisy you are the same height and weight as me, with the same target weight. I'm triathlon training, and hungry all the time!
My meals are pretty good, but then too much chocolate, crisps and wine ruin it...

I'm a runner too and for years made the mistake of thinking I could eat what I wanted because I was running. Sadly it turned out not to be the case and I've learnt the hard way that the only way to manage my weight is by watching what I eat.
I managed to eat fairly well yesterday as I'm focusing on my upcoming holiday and avoided the crisps last night by trying on my bikinis and deciding which ones to take.

Haha, actually I weigh myself every day too!

How about Sundays for a weigh-in day?

Was wondering if I had written an OP that I had then forgotten about! It could be me word for word. I am 9 stone and 5'3". Even managed to get down to 8st 11lb recently, but one work trip away and bang back to 9st again.

A year ago I was 8.5 stone. Nothing has changed except time (I am 46 now). Ideally, I would be 8st, but I am starting to accept this is not realistic at this stage of life.

I run 3 times a week, 6-9 km each time. I don't drink in the week and restrict myself to a couple of units per night at weekends. I cook from scratch so can plan healthy meals, and then self sabotage eating crap during the day when I am working! MFP hasn't been working, it reckons 1200 calories is sufficient, but I am permanently hangry so I am going to have to up the exercise.

Today, I am going to start on doing some HIIT in between work calls. I have 6 weeks before my bikini will see the light of day this year. And the friend I am going away with is a PE teacher, so very fit and lean despite being my age and having 3 kids not jealous at all

@SamHeughansLeftEyebrow it sounds as though you are being really quite virtuous - how annoying then that you aren't seeing the results you want. It's so frustrating isn't it.

I have lost weight when counting and sticking to 1200 cals but I also feel hungry! My problem is I really don't enjoy exercise. And I loathe counting calories really. Basically I don't want to make any effort

I did the Body Coach programme 3 years ago and dropped to under 8 stone (too thin really!) but what seemed to happen after that was that I rebelled against all exercise and watching of food consumption! Hence it's all gone back on and then some Blush

What's the plan then. Weigh ins on Sundays to keep accountable? I'm just going to try and keep to the straight and narrow. Do another workout today and avoid the crisps and wine!!!! Oh and drink water 💦

I'm in. I am 5'7" and 10 stone. I really want to get down to 9 stone 7. In my yoga class everyone else has space between their legs when they are standing with their legs together, mine are like two massive hams struggling to be contained in yoga pants. Thing is though, I have looked at bikini photos from when I was 9 stone and I still had fat legs. In general in this weather I am marvelling at most other women, even much bigger than me, who all seem to have slim legs. This is all rampant vanity, it's not important in the great scheme of things, please indulge me.

Can I join too? Also a 5 ft 3 and 9 stoner. I've been lowcarbing for years but have gradually gained 10lb, so need to eat fewer nuts, less cheese and wine . Would like to lose 9lb ideally.

Does anyone else find that this weather helps? My appetite just diminishes when it's hot!

I wish my appetite would diminish! Sadly also my appetite for a nice cold glass of rosé with accompanying nibbles increases...

Sunday will probably be my worst weigh in but might help me over indulging on a Friday and Saturday night!
I run about 25-30 miles a week, but whoever said you can’t outrun a bad diet is sadly correct....
Also, the wrong side of 45 so think it just gets harder and harder, but I’m determined!
Am pleased and surprised at the amount of replies, I did think readers would think I was being vain and silly!

I'm 5"1.5 (ha ha, the half is important!) and I'm now 9st3. I'd like to lose around 7- 10lbs. This time last year I'd just given birth and on the day I gave birth was just under 15 stone. My pre pregnancy weight was 12 stone, so I'm pretty happy with how far I've come, but there's still a bit to go.
