Fucking Hell I feel disgusting

Fuck I'm so fed up with being fat. I look and feel disgusting. Does anybody else feel this way? It's time for me to take control.

Today I am starting my 'new me' regime. I've literally had enough of looking like this. Nothing fits me. I look a mess, a fat mess. Grin

Yep, that's me in a nutshell. Nothing fits from last year, I don't even feel like going out in the evenings as all my friends are super fit and toned. Half my problem is I still feel like I was 10 years ago, three stone lighter so I get a shock every time I see my reflection.

ThrownMuse · 17/06/2018 08:44

Me three. I have good intentions but am dealing with a lot of stuff at the mo which gives me v limited time to focus on a diet properly.

What can we do? One day at a time?

sadieissadie · 17/06/2018 08:45

Onynx it's not good is it. I really want to do something about it now. Not sure what I weigh, I shall weigh myself in a bit. At least two stone though. I don't really have a plan but something has to give.

sadieissadie · 17/06/2018 08:46

Throw I've got a lot going on too a the moment, but I'm hoping that focusing on a diet will give me a bit of a distraction from all the crap I have going on.

I am the same. I lost two pounds this week but I am horrified at myself. Vicious cycle of course. I have put on the three stone I lost.

KirstenRaymonde · 17/06/2018 08:49

Yep, I feel pretty uncomfortable. I’m not huge, but I am overweight. I need to lose about 25/30lbs . What’s irritating is my diet is actually pretty good as they go, but I’m pretty sedentary, not helped by working from home, and burn hardly anything to get through the day. I need to eat about 1000 calories to get a deficit, which isn’t too sustainable or healthy. Motivating myself to get to the gym or go for a walk is harder than just eating more veg (that I already eat)

NumbersLetters · 17/06/2018 08:51

The 16 hour daily fast approach has helped me regain some control. I'm not losing weight quickly but I feel loads better in my mind as I know I'm tackling it.

sadieissadie · 17/06/2018 08:51

Going that sounds familiar Smile

I am not overweight though at the v top of acceptable bmi. I would like to lose a stone or so really. I am also struggling with an ancient eating disorder rearing its head again - this has been happening for a month or two but has been exacerbated by stress this week as a delightful friend of mine killed herself on Monday. So I am a mess...

But I would like to join a supportive thread to help me lose weight sensibly, if you'll have me.

Emma198 · 17/06/2018 08:53

Sounds brilliant :)

Make a plan and make some accountability for yourself. So you have Instagram? Have a look at the fit girls guide. All the girls are so supportive and you post pics etc to keep yourself accountable.

In the meantime though, please don't feel bad about yourself. Do something that makes you feel good like putting a full face of make up on or spending extra time doing your hair, whatever works for you x

Itis6oclocksomewhere · 17/06/2018 09:18

I think everyone on this thread has echoed my feelings.
I'm probably about a stone and a half over my ideal weight. Haven't dealt with it, I've just accepted it and bought clothes in larger sizes.
I felt really disgusting when I caught a glimpse of myself in a shop window yesterday - it was not good!
Also doesn't help when my husband has lost a stone recently without really doing anything major.

Anyway, this week is the start of new regime. Looking at what exercise I need to be doing and diet!

sadieissadie · 17/06/2018 09:21

Keira I'm so sorry about your friend Thanks

I’m going to lurk, and I’ll cheer you all on. I’m overweight at the moment but I’m not sure what to do right now :S we’re moving house in ten weeks so I’m hoping to sort myself out when we move :)

sadieissadie · 17/06/2018 09:24

Thanks Emma I really can see the sense in doing something to make myself feel better. I'm going to put make up on today and blow dry my hair. Shall report back.

MyFitnessPal app has helped me so much, I’m not particularly overweight but clothes not fitting anymore. I count calories now, which I have never done before and record everything and it is very good at teaching you how to eat, I must have been loading my body with extra calories even ones from healthy sources. I’m being sensible working on losing 1 pound a week but it’s working, it’s slow but I’m optimistic again and feeling better already. And I’m not starving but am being controlled.

keiratwiceknightly · 17/06/2018 09:41

Thanks Sadie.

I'm off to yoga this morning to try and stretch my back out a bit (that's where I hold stress usually). Have a good day, people.

hambo · 17/06/2018 09:47

I have lost 15lbs in 6 weeks using myfitnesspal. And trying to walk 10000steps (but mostly failing). It is the first time I have used it and it is so easy! I was having giant portion before and I also cut drinking out. I was about 2.5 stone overweight so still some to go. Am 5foot 7and weighed 12stone 8 so now 11stone6

sadieissadie · 17/06/2018 10:25

I have weighed myself!

I am 11 stone so I am needing to lose two stone. I have showered and have acted on Emma's advice and have taken the time to shave, exfoliate, hair and face mask and full body moisturise. Full face of makeup applied and a squirt of perfume. Bracelet and earrings too. This is a 100% improvement on the beauty front and actually I do feel better.

Today I am going to get my eating under control so no snacks or junk food for me.

Sundays are going to be my weigh in day if you would like to join me. Just post your loss each week.

Just wanted to say that this is how I felt a week ago. Today, I've weighed myself and I've lost 3lbs and feel so, so different. It's about taking control and making a fresh start, as others have said.

I'm calorie counting but avoiding carbs as much as possible. Have also started C25K again, so the exercise is helping.

I've also written a list of how being fat makes me look and feel, and the same about losing weight which is handy to refer to at weaker moments.

Onward and downward everyone 😁

Emma198 · 17/06/2018 10:45

Glad you're feeling better :) I'm pregnant and feeling unavoidably fat and a bit helpless about it for the timebeing so think I'll follow suit with the hair and full face on! Have a lovely day.

ThrownMuse · 18/06/2018 07:52

Just catching up and weighed this morning at 15.10. I need to be around 12 stone, so I'm going to try and get those 10 pounds off before the school hols.

I'm very active, but I need to cut back on drinking and portion sizes. Starting right now!

Really need to crack this by the end of the year before it gets worse.

I just weighed and need to lose 7 stone but ideally 8. I’m starting today. One pound at a time! Good luck everyone.

sadieissadie · 18/06/2018 09:14

Morning Betty and Thrown

I agree with one pound at a time. One pound off is better than one pound on. I was really good yesterday. No junk was consumed.
