Hi there,

I'm not sure what I really hope to achieve from this post (my 1st ever) but I'm just a bit all over the place so perhaps putting it down in writing may help!

i'm not overweight but am pretty unhappy with the way I look. Or more accurately, over my lack of control and apparent inability to reset my bad habits. Last summer I really got myself under control, great diet, exercise and felt great! Then I let it all slip. i've put approx. 5 lbs back on and do not feel at all good about myself.

I have 2 small kids and work from home so think a lot of it is down to boredom. I don't even snack all day but no longer make the right choices re food and defo drink wine too regularly!

I do exercise regularly and attend classes most days which I really enjoy but recognise that the weight wont shift unless I sort my diet.

Rationally, I know its simple. just stop eating rubbish and fuel my body properly. But then I think ' I bloody deserve this glass of wine' or there's lots of socialising etc going on and I don't want to miss out on the nice food and drink!

I just want to get myself in a healthy mind set and feel ok about myself. and lose about half a stone. It should be simple. But im struggling. And I spend way too much time feeling awful which is not at all healthy and im aware, very boring for people around me.

I don't really expect any replies as short of someone coming to my home and stapling my lips together there's nothing anyone else can do for me. But it helps for me to write it down and help me see how stupid im being!

Hi, you are being way too hard on yourself! You exercise regularly, work from home and have two small kids. To only have half a stone to lose is great, you can do that easily! You do sound a bit down and it could be boredom as you say. Try to shake your routine up a bit, can you get out in the fresh air, meet a friend for coffee, simple little things like that could lift your mood. Maybe set yourself a goal as to when you want to have lost the weight by and then treat yourself. I think a short sharp diet where you follow recipes (blood sugar diet is delicious but only 800 calories) might suit you. Good luck.

Thank you! Appreciate your reply. You’re right of course. I’m way too hard on myself but not sure how you change that.
Defo need to lift my mood so will focus on how to do that and set myself a goal!!
Thanks again x

I agree with Westwing - you are being really tough on yourself. Could you set yourself a goal to do something fun/different every week and start focusing on the amazing stuff you are achieving? smile
