Hey all!

I'm on a bit of a weight loss kick ATM and wanted somewhere to share it, if this is okay?

I'm 5ft 9 and got a shock last month when I weighed myself and discovered I was just under twelve stone. My whole adult life I've kinda settled somewhere between 10 and a half and 11 and a half stone. Once I managed to get down to 9st 7 through calorie counting but I found it hard to maintain at that weight. I'm 5ft 9.

I calculated my BMI when I hit 12st and realised I was on the verge of tipping into overweight which was a real wake up call. What prompted me to weigh was that for the first time ever I noticed in the mirror I had a bit of a double chin. at first I was confused and thought I had swollen glands or something, but then I realised it was because I was the heaviest I've ever been.

Anyway, I downloaded MyFitnessPal and have been doing it three weeks, I'm down ten pounds from 11st 12 to 11st 2, through a mixture of sticking to 1200 calories per day and walking a couple times per week for a few miles each time (I'm asthmatic and quit smoking January so I've been letting my lungs recover until now and was happy to see the other day I was able to walk 5 miles at a decent pace without needing my inhaler once).

My goal weight is 10st, so I have 16lbs to go.

Will post progress updates whenever. Don't expect anyone to reply but it's good for me :)

Thanks so much both of you!

I went to the pub last night for a couple glasses of wine, so I walked the long way home adding an extra four miles to my journey back 😁

Today OH and I are heading to this dessert shop as it's our first day off together in a while and I'm so excited to show him, so we're walking 2.5m to and from.

It's only recently I've even thought about walking places, until giving up smoking in January my asthma was too bad, but now I've been off it a few months my lungs are great and I walked fast the whole way round last night and didn't have to stop.

Thinking of a nine mile walk on Friday, should take three hours. Is that madness? 😂

Well done so far on all the walking and the nine miler sounds like an excellent idea - try and power walk some of it as you need to get your heart rate up to burn calories.
