Team RH - is anyone a member?

I have watched some videos, but have some questions if anyone can help?

Apologies in advance if this info is out there and I've missed it!

Counting macros - does MFP do this for you? I'm not great with numbers!

Do you input into MFP before eating so you know, rather than after?

Is it cliquey in the group or supportive?

I know RH is supposed to be "hard hitting", but if you're genuinely struggling/finding it hard (rather than not trying) is there help?

Ok
Macros - when you join, you’re expected to go through the announcements section which will give you your calorie allocation and macro split percentages. You put that into Mfp and that’s that!
You can input your food into Mfp whenever you like. I sometimes try do my weeks food and then I tweak it to hit macros better (or to add in that something I shouldn’t haveBlush) As long as you’re being 100% with your tracking, it’s up to you. Although before might be best so you don’t forget stuff

It’s really supportive but not in the way you might be used to. No one wants to hear excuses, and that’s not being mean, the fact is we all have bad days, we all have troubles but has our body let us off overeating without putting any weight on, eh no. It’s about taking responsibility for your weight loss. He’s very outspoken, he curses like a ship of sailors, but he’s genuine and what he recommends works. And it works for a lot of people. If you put the effort in, you’ll get so much out. It’s changed my mindset and no, as someone said it reminded them of brainwashing. Well maybe I needed my brainwashed, good for those who can lose weight without help, I need it. And I don’t think he’s a con merchant cause there’s a cost. Yes it’s a business, but it’s helping and doing good. Everyone needs to pay their bills.
I have only ever recommended it to people who felt they couldn’t shift weight or had felt like they had tried everything else. If you’re a very delicate flower and you want to give it a go, toughen up buttercup😉 If you’re the type that won’t do as you’re told, or you’re sceptical, suspend those feelings and get with the program.
If you’ve any other questions feel free to ask.

Thank you!
I'm definitely not a delicate flower Wink but do have anxiety. I've done slimming world successfully once (the following few times not so much Blush) but the team RH videos around it make total sense.

I get the whole no excuses thing. But I do struggle with time.

Thanks for taking the time to answer my questions!

How much does it cost?

I started it 3 weeks ago and am loving it! MFP is probably my most used app on my phone now! I'm not managing the steps (I do exercise 5/6 days a week though) or water intake but am still losing 2lb a week so am happy for now.

It does take some getting used to and I still struggle to hit my macros but have picked up loads of helpful tips in my calorie club such as high protein ice cream, microwaving fibre one chocolate bars so they go all gooey.

Definitely worth the money IMO!

The joining fee is £15 and then £5 per month so much cheaper than SW 😉

I joined last week but haven’t got going yet.

I’m looking forward to it.

I love Team RH can’t believe I wasted so much time, energy and money on sw, this totally makes sense, I’m loving my food, not hungry and my emotional health is better than it’s been in ages! The support is amazing and I still can’t believe how cheap it is!

I need to sit down for bit, read the instructions, watch the videos and spend time working out my week ahead exercise and meals, then going for it.

It looks on quick glance that I’d be in the 2000 calorie club, which is almost double what I would normally allow myself. I must need to do a shit ton of exercise...on top of the 5 classes a week I already do.

Hiya
You need to aim for 15,000 steps per day exercise wise so all the steps during your classes count. I now wear my Fitbit on ankle most of time as I find it registers them better. I also do a 15 min Leslie Sansone walking workout most mornings which gets me a few thousand.

Report
SheStoodInTheStorm · 28/04/2018 22:03

I'm definitely nowhere near 15k steps!

Hi I wasn’t either.
I now get up 15 mins earlier and do a 15 min Leslie Sansone workout on YouTube that sets me up for the day and gives my steps a good boost. I wear my Fitbit on ankle most of time and do under desk jogging when sat at my desk, they soon rack up!

Report
DontDrinkDontSmoke · 30/04/2018 09:00

So moving your feet at your desk counts?

Report
swizzlestix · 30/04/2018 10:34

Yes, so does waving your arms about, punching the air as it’s all movement that burns calories. You don’t have to walk all the 15 k which makes it much more achievable.
I’m up to 9000 already today just by doing 15 min walking workout, walking to school and back and stepping as I’m doing things and under desk jogging!

swizzlestix · 30/04/2018 11:27

Ps as long as you aim for 105,000 steps per week you can do more some days and less others which helps as some days it’s harder to get them and other days you may do extra.

I'm just about to join when I get paid next week.
Is there anything I can be doing in the meantime? How long does it take for the plan to come through. Should I start by doing the 15000 steps.
Any help would be great, used to slimming world.

@wishingchair1 - if you don’t already have it, get mfp and start logging your food, making sure you weigh it. Accurate food tracking is essential. Also download the Fitbit app, weigh yourself daily and enter the weight (in pounds) in. These are things you’ll do as part of team Rh so if you start getting used to it now, you’ll have a head start. Don’t try stick to silly Mfp cals, just eat normally as you are - the team will set your cals when you join. Get active as you’ll be expected to stay active throughout (as much as you don’t have physical limitations) As for how long it takes to join, I think you get an email with a link pretty soon after you pay - I joined over a year ago so it’s possibly changed a bit but I know there’s some directions about reading the announcements. You have to make time to go through the announcement videos, it’s a large group & coaching can’t be 1:1 for everything - you have to put some work in.
Best of luck, I’m sure you’ll have great success, it’s a game changer

I'm seriously thinking of joining RH but I already track on MFP, and am active, I wonder what more it can add. I am maintaining my weight doing this (with food & drink indulgences over the weekend), but I would like to lose a few pounds and then maintain that.

Its the fibre / protein element that seems intriguing and something I would like to understand more.

Can I ask, those who are joined how much fiber and protein do you have each day?

TIA

I’m on 1800 calories with 113g protein and 29g fibre. I’m supposed to hit 225g carbs too but I never manage to make that.
The app also tracks water intake and gives you weight based workouts to follow.

Hi sexykitten2005, would you mind if I asked what you weigh? 1800 cals seems like what I should be on. Mfp says 1400 for me n I’m bloody starving!!! Ta
