Dear all,

Just ended bad relationship, now just looking after my kids and trying to stay afloat! I could easily go most of day without food, then eat my hearty dinner late after they go to bed. I then take a look at my reflection and I look humongous. I’m 14 stone, 5ft 6. Is there anything you’d recommend to get me going? I rarely drink water so that’s my first thought.....I just want to see some change.....

Not helpful, but I am currently celebrating being ill with D&V. It will shrink my stomach, meaning I will eat less when recovered; and at the moment the thought of any type of food makes me want to vomit.
Probably not what you wanted to hear :)

Not quite beasternunny but hope you feel better soon! Funny how the thought of a shrinking stomach makes it all worthwhile!!!

Same height and weight, divorce through Feb.I seem to be all out of motivation having got so far.
I feel it should be about me now but have never been to this weight before and not sure where to start.I work full time so now it's summer salad for lunch,I try to have something decent for supper as DD skips lunch at school so I need a breakfast that can be eaten when I get to work early that is not a smoothie,at present I have a banana if there are any left or skip it and buy crisps mid morning.

Dh and I lost about 4 stone each last year using a VLCD (very low calorie diet). People warned us that we'd gain the weight back again afterwards, which to a certain extent we have, but we are both aware that stress and being busy have been the biggest influence on our bad eating habits.
We think the VLCD was great though, and we'll be going back on it again. It does take some trial and error to find one you like that suits your budget and preferences, but we found it to be easy to follow, convenient, quick, and effective. Sure, some of the meals were a bit bleurgh, but you get used to them, and you just have to keep reminding yourself that you're not eating for pleasure, but to give your body the maximum nutrition and minimum mass as possible.
I actually felt better on it than I do off, as i have a problem absorbing nutrients and vitamins, and I found having the precise amount of vitamins and minerals made me feel brilliant. There's a few out there that are much cheaper (and better, in my opinion) than Lighter Life or cambridge, so I'd shop around.
