Exercise bike

Planning to buy an exercise bike to use at home, popping on to it any spare moment.
Advice on whether it's worth it and what kind of workouts to do on it please? Also, is it worth getting a spinning bike?

I think spin bikes give a better workout, but unfortunately the home ones are rarely as good as the gym ones. There are lots of spin workouts on YouTube.
