I'm a bit late to the party I know!

I don't have much to loose but I had let my weight creep up very slowly so that I was 10/11 lbs over my ideal weight of 8st. Im a shorty (5 ft 3) and a small narrow build. It's not a lot of extra weight obviously but it all settles on my middle and makes me look 'round'.

Signed up with MFP 2 and a half weeks with my goal set at a loss of 1lb per week and so far have lost 2.5lbs so really happy! Also do 16:8 which helps stick to the reduced calls. Hols in 7 weeks so if I can keep this up (finding it very manageable) I will fit all my summer clothes 😀

I used to think tracking would be a pain but I find it really motivating and hugely educational with regard to calories and portions. Fab app!

Hi Wishimaywishimight, I also started tracking my meals recently and was surprised to see how much it motivates me. I don't use MFP but an app which works similar to it. It's called Yazio (maybe also interesting for some of you: www.yazio.com/en) and I really like it as it is so easy to use and has a great design. I have a bit more weight to lose than you, about 35lbs, and I'm excited to see the first progress already! What are your experiences with 16:8? I'm still trying out many different new things to find the perfect way for me. Right now I'm doing a clean eating challenge in the Yazio app which is so much fun and a great experience for me. If you have any tips I'd love to hear from you :) Wishing you all the best on your weight loss journey!

Hi Gracie, I'm still logging every day and still a huge fan of MFP. I actually got down to 1lb under my ideal weight (so 7st 13lbs) in time for my holidays and was really really happy with that. I only put on 4lbs while I was away (almost 2 weeks) which wasn't bad at all considering I was eating a lot more but also having alcohol every day.

I'm now 8st 3lb and happy enough to be back to 1200 cals a day (mid-week, I go over a bit at the weekends) and then plan to maintain at between 7st 13lbs - 8st 2lbs.

I'm finding 16:8 really easy. I always thought I would be weak with hunger if I didn't have breakfast but I don't miss it at all. I usually finish dinner by 8.30pm and then don't eat again until 12.30/1pm the next day. I do drink a lot of water and also green tea and peppermint tea and I find that keeps me going no bother. I take a break on Sunday though.

Between the 16:8 and MFP I'm finding it much easier than I thought to reach and maintain my target weight. Any time I think of nibbling for the sake of it I just think of all the clothes that I can now wear comfortably that were off-limits for several years and the pleasure of wearing what I want totally outweighs (pardon the pun!!) of eating when I'm not even hungry.
