Huge appetite lost my confidence with losing weight

I have had a hard winter (as have many). I have really binged during periods of stress. Now I'm paying the price.

I was making a healthier plan for myself, how to loose some pounds before holiday, saw the kids toast and ate it (after my pizza tea) then thought how am I ever going to do it. I then realised I have no confidence in myself - a little sob. It's true I feel really anxious at the thought of making any changes as I think "I'll just think sod it" and have a binge. Sigh.

Any motivation or support greatly appreciated x

There’s a free book on kindle called ‘never binge again’ it’s really made me look at things differently.
It makes you look at the bingeing part of yourself as separate to you and makes you more aware of the bingeing ‘voice’.
I think it’s worth a look.

What helps me is treating myself with love and care. Say look at a cake and think, what is it going to offer you, what is it going to give my body, what nutrients, what vitamins, will it help you build your muscles etc? When you get the answer that it’s not going to give your body anything good or useful, it cannot offer any mineral or nutrients your body needs, but it will make you bloated, with make you have cravings, will make you feel guilty, ashamed, loathe yourself. Why would you put that piece of cake in your body, you love yourself too much to cause yourself harm? You and your body deserve better, care for yourself like you care about others. Punishing, depriving yourself, feeling shame and guilt do not make you slim or happy, not long-term anyway. Change your mindset, love yourself and you wouldn’t want to harm yourself.

Thank you for the support. Toomanynamestorememebr, that's an interesting way of looking at it.

I find certainly my confidence at certain times of the month and when stressed, hits a low.
