1200 calorie month

I've lost a stone really slowly but haven't lost anything for a while and need a boost. I can't sustain 1200 calories a day for that long but reckon I can do a month if I put my mind to it. 28 days. 1200 calories. Every. Single. Day. Anyone up for it?

I'm trying exactly that but really struggling. So probably not much help!

I'm in!

I can do it without wine. But I really love wine Blush

I have a wedding dress fitting in 2 and a half months though so I need to get my arse into gear. I'm not overweight but I'm not where I want to be.

Brilliant! A wedding dress fitting is a good incentive. Ok starting tomorrow. How hard can it be!

Ok I'm on it. Breakfast was Greek yoghurt with raspberries, lunch is a low fat cream cheese sandwich and a pear, dinner will be a spinach omelette and small jacket potato.

Ok that sounds good!

I've had fruit and fibre with skim milk, hopefully that's not too sugary...

Smoked salmon wholeneal Pitts with salad and low fat cream cheese.

Beef bolognaise with butternut squash noodles for dinner. And no wine! It's Monday so I won't be tempted. By about Thursday though I start to crave. Then I ruin all my good work!

You can do it easily.

How much weight do you actually want to lose?

I've managed it (1100 Sun - Thu, and around 1500, sometimes more on Fri & Sat) for about 15 months now.

I don't bother with breakfast, have soup and/or a sandwich for lunch followed by a cookie or a yoghurt and then a larger dinner. Plenty of calories left over for snacks (e.g. a glass of wine, G&T, chocolate).

I don't have any pasta, rice or bread Sun-Thu which frees up a lot of calories for other things. I eat a lot of salad and vegetables! A usual day's calorie breakdown is something like this:

100 cals for skimmed milk in tea/coffee
250 cals for lunch
450-500 cals for dinner
250-300 for pudding, snacks etc.

Me please. I've been sticking to 1200 most days for a few weeks (3lb down) but fail at the weekends and undo the hard work. I don't find 1200 too difficult (disclaimer: I'm 5 ft so probably why) and I can't eat early so this helps keeps the cals down. I low carb ish and 16:9 ish but would love motivation to carry it through the weekend. Day off yesterday for mothers day...back on it!

Please can I join in?

2st3lbs to target weight, already lost quite a bit- but plateaued a bit recently with one thing and another, so need a kick start.

God Parents in 6 weeks, so aiming to have lost 7lbs at least by then.

Aim to stick to between 1000 & 1200 cal per week & do gym cardio & weights 3 times per week. Tracking with MFP app & my own geeky spreadsheet.

B: Coffee Skimmed milk
L: Veg soup & some tomatoes
S; Hot cross bun
D: Fish Pie & salad

I've been doing this for the last 2 weeks.
I don't eat breakfast.
Lunch is something like soup and rice cakes or a naked noodle pot.
Dinner is salad 3 times a week with leaves, tomato, cucumber, egg, mozzarella, pomegranate seeds and nuts. Other nights it's meat or fish with veg.
Snacks are gullen sugar free biscuits, rich tea biscuits and the very occasional chocolate bar. I have wine a few nights a week too.
Only have 2lbs to go but it's all going to go to pot when I go on my All Inclusive holiday in April!!

I've got quite a bit to lose, around 4 stone. Mfp gIves me 1640 to lose a lb a week but for the past few weeks I've been slipping in too many extras so just been maintainin. I reckon in a strict month of 1200 I'll lose 8-10 lbs which will give me a real boost. I'm greedy though so really need to get my head in gear. Know I can do it though!

Evening all.
Today I had
Lunch: waitrose layered prawn & pasta salad..a bit too carby I think but very nice
Tea: duck breast, mashed swede, broccolli, carrots and peas.
MFP tells me this is 980..I don't count tea I drink copiously with milk so probably about right.
Only 7.3k steps today but my husband has just brought my bike in from the garage ready for my first commute of the year tomorrow so all being well 8 miles of cycling tomorrow.
I'm still recovering from doing ONE joe wicks HIT session last week so hope my little legs hold up!
How's everyone doing?
Red tulip...what are these sugar free biscuits? Grin

Had just pretty much dead on 1200. I'm feeling slightly hungry but not too bad, definitely won't eat anything else. I do know that 1200 cals a day is pretty normal for lots of people. But I'm greedy so to me it's a big deal. Practically a fast! Blush

Singing well done. How tall are you? I do think k ow how anyone manages 1200 if they are taller than me at 5ft. Have you considered doing 16:8 that seems to give people a kick start.

I cycled 4 miles to work today....was tough!

I started yesterday - I lost about a stone and a half last summer and have stayed pretty steady since then, but I really need to lose about 4/5 stone still. I want to be more comfortable this summer, so I hope sticking to a strict calorie count of 1200 for at least a month will kick start my weight loss again.

I started yesterday - 42 calories over, but I'm pretty happy with that.

I'm 5"5. I've tried 16.8 but found it hard to stick to 2 meals. Psychologically I felt I could nibble throughout the afternoon. I had yoghurt and blueberries for breakfast and lentil soup for lunch today. Got veggie pasta for dinner. When I'm in the right head space I can cope with this level of hunger. Definitely peckish rather than gnawing hunger. Easily sorted with a glass if water and a stick of celery .

@Mywifenow these are the sugar free biscuits I buy. I got them from Poundland but think supermarkets do them too. A friend on slimming world recommended them.

Thabks redtulip. I pass a £1 shop on my way home..I'll have a look out for them. Sometimes.just want something with a cuppa. Quite like those go ahead crispys from poundland too.
Singing..I'm lucky I suppose that I feel nausea at food until about 11am. I do think stomach shrinkage happens and it gets easier but not sure I could manage on 1200 at your height.
Whendoisleep. Good luck, how are you doing?

I'm 5"5 and I need to lose a stone to be back to my happy weight. Crept on just being really relaxed and enjoying food and wine a bit with my DP I guess. Have a history of ED though so needs to be done as slowly and sensibly as I can.

Had those boodle things yesterday, they're quite nice actually, and the leftovers for lunch.

Checking in for Day 3... feeling positive.

Sneaked in last night at 1130 Cals- had a treat of a little bit of Ice Cream (which I even weighed) Halo

Plan today
B: Coffee & Skimmed Milk
L; Broccolli & Pea Soup, 1/2 a Chicken Breast
D; TBC (may be Chicken again) with a big mixed salad & a few seed sprinkles.

Trying to up protein for gym work & feeling fuller for longer.

Drinking Green Tea instead of snacking but I must be going to the loo every half an hour.

Day 3 here and still feeling good about this. I had a rushed morning today so didn't get any breakfast and grabbed something when out for lunch, but it's all logged in MFP and I have worked out what I can have for dinner based on the calories I have left.

The worst part for the last few days is realising how many calories I 'waste' on drinks during the day normally and how many bad habits I've let creep back in - a large glass of OJ with breakfast, squash throughout the day and several glasses of lemonade. I stopped drinking coke at the beginning of last year and I think I'm going to stop drinking lemonade at home as well. The last few days I've cut back to a small measured glass of OJ, only during the day and a measure glass of squash only once.

singing I definitely get the low level hunger as well and, as you say, I can handle it as long as I'm feeling positive.
