Hoping somebody might have been through this can could give me some extra advice or information?
I'm currently 13 stone overweight. After years of dieting, telling myself it was fine being 'plus size' and being generally so unhappy, I bit the bullet and went to the doctor.
I have fibromyalgia and an inward curvature of the lower spine, neither caused by my weight, but definitely exasperated by it. These problems means I find it difficult to exercise and exercise was something I absolutely loved.
I'm only young (relatively!) I have two children, both with disabilities, one more severe than the other.
I haven't told my husband that I've asked for a referral to the weight loss clinic, I know if they suggest surgery it's a 2 year path plus whatever recovery time. This will effectively put some our life on hold for a while, but at the same time it'll be the beginning of mine I think.
I know he'll be supportive and I plan on telling him tonight.
Has anybody been on this path? Can anybody tell me if they've had weightloss surgery on the NHS and what the waiting times were/support groups were like?
Thank you! 💖
