Welcome to the new Valentine's edition of the best thread on MN™ where we encourage and support each other to lose 7lbs in a month (though that happens so rarely maybe we need to change our USP!)

Link to the January thread here

Everyone welcome, new and old

I did chuckle at that USP line...
Feeling quite positive this month!

Hello, may I join?

I have about 2 stone to shift, some post baby, most emotional eater. I need to get back in control. 7lb in a month sounds possible.

You're very welcome Hoop. Welcome aboard.

I shall weigh in the morning to assess the January efforts

I’m in and raring to go😉 My first weigh in for Jan had me at 11.10.8, I’m now 11.6.6 so not 7 pound but the Christmas weight is gone. Back to the start line. I want to get under 11 stone by the end of March so I’m reckon I’m on track with that. Thanks for the new thread boop

I'm going to join too please. Lost over a stone since last summer but have gained 5lbs over Christmas and not shifted it in January. Desperate to get back down, starting this morning at 9st 12lbs. Over all goal is 9st, would be happy with 1lb a week.

How are you losing weight? Are most of you calorie counting? I've got the mfp app and am tracking but it's the picking at crap which I'm not with myself about so the aim is to stop the mindless eating!

Morning all! Weighed in up 2lbs this morning Shock but AF is due so I reckon it's just bloating. I'm going to ignore it and do my "official" weigh in next week. Hope the rest of you have more successful weigh ins!

Good morning all 10st2 so lost 6 lbs in total in Jan, little annoying as I had got down to 10 dead but I lost the plot last week!
7 lbs would take me to 9st9 surpassing my December low of 9st10

Have a golden month all, I am in the ZONE!

Pinch punch the first of the month to you all.

Welcome to the new faces. I'm also using MFP. I find it great for keeping me from mindless late night snacking (most of the time)

I've just looked back at my first posts on all the threads since I joined in October. I lost 7lb exactly in October and November, and 1lb exactly in December and January.

That's 16lb in total. I'm so pleased with that and need to keep focusing on what I've lost, not what I failed to lose in January.

I'm setting a very achievable target of 3lb off in Feb. I was 10 10 yesterday. Aiming for 10 7.

Come on everyone. We can do this Flowers

Thanks for the new thread BOOP Thanks

I'm bouncing around 11st4 currently so my realistic Feb target is to get that to bounce around 11st2 or lower. Ideal would be to smash through to the 10s.

I'm going to do a start of the month reset and log the shit out of everything on Mfp for a few days. It makes me miserable to do it for more than a week but it's definitely helpful to get me back on track when my eating levels have started going up, it resets my brain into what weight loss eating looks like. Yesterday was not a Slenderista Golden day at all.

can i join? have a few pounds to lose pre holiday, lost quite a bit of baby weight then fell off the wagon eating all the things I banned myself from having! now thinking being good in week (low carb, no wheat and dairy or booze) and then occasional treats on the weekend to keep my sanity

Report
delphinidewdrop · 01/02/2018 07:55

am 9st 1.75 this morning and would like to get down to 8st 10 ideally pre holiday.

So I lost 5.8lbs in January. I'm ignoring the annoying bastard pound that appeared this morning because I've been totally Golden this week and it's pre-AF related.

So that's the Christmas weight lost. I'm aiming for a measly three pounds this month as I have a couple of holidays this month

Hello! Checking into the new thread.

I weighed in at 58.7kg (9st3lb) this morning which means I reached my January goal of getting below 60kg!

It also means I have lost a whopping 15lb since joining these threads in September!

I'm feeling pretty good at the moment. My aims for February are:

  • To maintain weight around 59kg
  • To keep on running
  • To keep an eye on the 🍷🍷🍷 intake.

Good luck all!

Can I join? I'm also on another thread but figure I need all the support I can get. I'd be grateful for 4 lbs, to be honest, as weight seems to stick to me like glue, but will see how it goes.

Start weight: 11 st 11 lbs
Current weight: 11 st 7.6 lbs
Target weight (by end June): 10 st 4 lbs

It would be great to get to 11 st 3 lbs by the end of Feb and anything else would be a bonus.

Welcome lurking!

Do you stick to a specific diet or are you just a calorie counter?

ALSO!
Did anyone watch "The truth about getting fit" last night - apaz according to new research running is actually GOOD for the knees!

I am a bit obsessed with diet and fitness telly atm, how to lose weight well, trust me I'm a doctor, Tom Kerridge's show... keeps me focused off snacks that is for sure!

Starting February at 11 stone 1 and motivated!

Had a Lidl protein roll with half an avocado for breakfast, have turkey salad for lunch, blueberries to snack on and out for dinner tonight - will have something chicken and veg based or salad.

Hairspray- I'm going to watch that now! I love those truth about docs.

Report
lurkingfromhome · 01/02/2018 08:33

Thanks, hairspray!

I do vague calorie counting, but largely I focus on eating healthily, keeping the carbs right down, portion control and no snacking. Allow myself one treat meal a week and cake or similar once a week if I really feel like it. I've always eaten really healthy meals but have a sweet tooth, work from home and love baking, so far too many biscuits and cakes etc have been my downfall.

This is about the fourth or fifth time I've attempted to lose a stone or two and actually keep it off. Sigh... of course, every time it gets harder (am now 50, post-menopausal and wishing I'd kept the weight off the first time I did all this!).

BitOutOfPractice · 01/02/2018 08:39

Oh I've just had a yummy breakfast. I did some overnight tomatoes in the slow cooker and had them with a couple of turkey rashers and wholemeal toast. It was really nice
