How do I lose a stone and keep it off...

I’m 12.6 stones and would love to lose a stone. Size 14 and 5 ft 7. And I’m 49.

If I stop snacking, only have a drink at the weekend and walk 3 miles a day to work and back will that work?

My diet is pretty good....but I di like a cheese and biscuits for supper, a few biscuits at work and the odd bag of crisps.

I would like to know the answer to this too!
I have tried cutting out carbs and have tried slimming world but the weight piles back on.
I have cut out a lot of snacking since xmas and have increased exercise but am not losing anything. According to MFP I am eating 1400-1600 cals a day.
Meals aren't too unhealthy either so not sure where I am going wrong.
I want to lose a stone in a healthy way and be able to keep it off!

Take up weight training!! I lost 1.5 stone last year watching my calories carefully and also took up weight training 4 times per week. Now i basically eat what I want, within reason!! And my weight stays down and I'm much more toned. Its been the best form of excercise Ive ever tried!
