Ugh. I'm so fat. And I'm so committed to losing weight and it Just Won't Go. I've done SW in the past, lost weight, gained weight, tried it again and it didn't work. So I joined WW. Lost weight, gained weight and now it doesn't work. I've been really disciplined since Jan 2nd doing weight watchers online, literally 100% on plan except for one night and I've got heavier!!

So what now? I'm actually in tears, I hate my fat body so much, I've got a party to go to next week and I was so convinced I'd be half a stone lighter by the time it came around cos I started dieting on Jan 2. Instead I'm even heavier and the heaviest I've been in ages.

I'm disgusting and I look awful in everything and I don't know what to do. I feel actually panicky about it, like I will hate my body forever cos I don't know what to do now.

I've been trying to "eat less move more" - I cut out all alcohol, caffeine, significantly reduced sugar, been walking 10000 steps a day, often more.

I don't want to be fat Sad

I feel the same, I’ve decided that I’m doing a detox for a few days! Started today and then I’m going to track everything I eat. Wine and crisps are my downfall. I hate my body at the moment

I even bought some "slimming tea" but haven't used it as wanted to do sensible healthy dieting. Well the sensible isn't working so maybe tea that makes me poop is the way forward?! 😩

Use a tracker like my fitness pal. It helped me lose 50lbs 2 years ago. Start off by tracking what you eat, you might be surprised by how much. Then pick a reasonable target. Losing a lb a week is great, don't expect miracles. If you aim to low with Cals you'll get disheartened.
Good luck.

Also I need to eat 1400 cals to maintain. I will never be able to eat more than that so continue to track.

littlepond is it possible that the WW point free foods are your downfall? I'm no WW expert but maybe the WW forums will give you good advise on how to make it work for you? Alternatively simple calorie counting may be the way forward. Could you try tracking points and calories in parallel to work out where it's going wrong?

You are not disgusting! It's great that you are taking steps to be fitter and healthier. Do you feel healthier?

I thought I felt healthier but then the scales were so mean and I feel horrible again!

I am gonna give MFP a go I think.

How tall are you? And how much do you weigh?

What have you been eating? List out a typical few days' worth of food/drinks and let's see if we can help you!

I'm 5ft nothing and now 10.5 stone.
Typical working day I eat

Porridge for breakfast (made with water and sweetener)
Lunch salad, maybe chicken or ham, sometimes a small amount (40g dry weight) wholewheat pasta

Dinner typically meat and veg, chicken curry or steak and a small spud, with mixed veg. I like cooking but it's usually diced meat, a tomato based sauce, vegetables and served with rice, potatoes, pasta or just Much Veg.

I try not to have carbs more than two meals.

I've given up alcohol and cut down to one coffee per day.

I drink water all day. I eat quite a lot of apples!

Why not try going low carb then?

Cut out the pasta - have something like eggs or full fat natural yoghurt for breakfast, a salad for lunch, with an oily dressing/mayo (but no pasta). Then for you evening meal, just have the meat/chicken/fish with veg and salad, but no rice/potatoes/pasta.

It doesn't matter what sort of diet you do. Low carb/WW/SW etc. It's 100% about being in a calorie deficit. That's science.
You can neck all the slimming tea you want as long as you don't go over your daily calories, you will absolutely lose weight.

Find out your BMR (if you don't know how, send me a PM I'll work it out for you) and eat under that.

At this point, get your eating down first and don't focus on exercise too much. Don't do too much as it'll put you off.

Track everything using MFP.

I also recommend you weigh in once a day so you can see a trend. Our weight fluctuates daily and drastically, you could have weighed yourself on a day you were carrying a lot of water. Weigh in the morning after a pee, naked.

You can absolutely do this, weigh yourself over the next couple days and see if your weight changes much!

Good luck ⭐
