Not lazy but have a very rude downstairs neighbour so trying to find exercises that burn cals without thudding? (Can't go to gym or for runs due to childcare)

My current one has my Fitbit in my back pocket and I stand with my feet still and sort of shift weight from leg to leg and wiggle bum. It adds steps so I must be doing it vigorously but no idea if I'm burning anything?!

Any ideas?!

Dumbbell exercises. Google 'light dumbbell exercises' and adapt to your level of fitness/strength. Available in a variety of weights from 500. Or, if £ is a consideration, use a full tin can in each hand.

500g that is!

Get leg weights and do lifts of your legs. Lie on the floor - lift legs, crabs, crunches, bridge, there's all sorts of Pilates you can do in the floor.

Kettle bell exercises might be worth a try? It's a great whole body work out/calorie burner without really moving feet.

Though you would upset your neighbor if you dropped it!

I do body pump classes which involve standing or lying, someone's using body weight, mostly using bar or plates.

Maybe look at some of the exercises on you tube- squats, lunges, press ups. Then if you think it would work, buy some weights and incorporate those into workout

It's a great workout.

Sometimes, not someone.

I saw one on youtube this morning, the body coach I think? Does a hotel HIIT workout, it's about 15min long. I'm going to write it down for future reference!

It's designed to be quiet so you can do it in a hotel room.

While you're standing at the sink (or anywhere!) just go up on your toes, squeeze in your bum and tum muscles while you're up on your toes! hold it, count to 10, then down. Do 3 times also make it harder by bending your knees while standing on your toes!

Do plies (ballet bending your knees exercises). Google them.

You can get a cheap set of resistance bands with handles and door attachments etc for about a tenner off eBay. Loads of exercises to do with them. You usually get a pamphlet with them showing all the moves you can do. Loads of resistance band workouts on YouTube.

Otherwise, yoga mat and body weight exercise routines, which are good. Joe wicks ones mentioned above are good but can be quite intense if you’re not used to it. Loads of similar ones available.

Try the sworkit app. Built in timer, progress tracker etc.

Or you could take DC for a walk to a quiet corner of a park and do them there.
