Writing this because I need to account for myself as I am out of control. Hope I can use this thread as a sort of diary along with anyone else who wants to join - please join!

I am disgusted with my body. I've always been bigger and, after years of battling with my mental health and binge eating, discovered I look good at 12st - 5"9, big boobs and hips so a size 14ish and happy there.

The last few years I've gotten out of control - met DP and gained some weight then had a baby and gained some more. I am now about 16 stone. Blush None of my size 16 clothes fit me so I'm probably an 18 or bigger. I'm breastfeeding so my boobs are huge (36GG), my face looks round and fat. I'm embarrassed to be seen naked.

I am starting NOW. I'm in bed and have cleaned my teeth so that's easy to say, but I'm honestly sick of feeling this way. I'm going cold turkey on all sweets and chocolate (my weak spot). Am allowing myself to eat unlimited fruit and veg. BF 4mo DD 8 times a day so can't go too low calorie, am going to aim for 1500.

Plan for tomorrow:-
Breakfast: porridge with semi-skimmed milk, nuts, raisins and honey.
Lunch: ham, cucumber, light cheese, grapes, tomatoes (I like picky snack food)
Snack: carrots and houmous
Dinner: chicken stir fry with mixed veg and fresh egg noodles
Dessert/late-night snack: light hot choc, apple wedges with peanut butter

Anyone want to join me? Even if no one responds I'm going to keep posting for accountability. I absolutely need to, for my health and to set a good example for my daughter.

I'll join you! I'm in very similar circumstances to you, although I have no idea what I weigh. I want to get from a size 20 back to a size 12 and need to stop making excuses for snacking all the time.

DC2 is 6 weeks and I would like to get down to a size 14/16 by the end of mat leave if possible.

The crunch point for me was receiving Christmas presents in XL and being told they could be returned if they were too small! Until then I had just been kidding myself that I was only slightly bigger.

Best of luck for today!

Just to add for context on sizes, I am 8 inches shorter than you and therefore look quite chunky at anything above a size 12.

Best of luck. We have a thread running for support with the NoS diet if you are interested, its all about forming a healthy relationship with food and learning to eat with moderation. Slow weight loss but I've lost 2 stone and kept it off for 4 months for the first time ever I have broken the yoyo dieting cycle. Lots of info here too

I have found Instagram a huge help and great for motivation/inspiration. I don't do social media normally but set one up specifically to follow people on the diet I'm doing but there are loads of healthy eating stuff too. I don't post pics of me but I do post my meals and that's what most of the people I follow do. Just in case it might benefit you, I would have never thought of doing it if it hadn't been for my sister

Feeling really proud today. It's only day one but it's going well so far.

Absolutely full of a cold but forced myself out the house with DD and took her for a walk in the pram, clocked 10k steps on my fitbit! Then came home and had a snacky lunch of ham, carrots, tomatoes, houmous and cheese. Currently on 800 cals for today

I started 3 days ago! This is my third day (in a row, I swear!) dieting and yesterday I started gym again. Height and current weight: 1.57 cm and 56 kg. (Sorry have no clue to about stone lbs etc...Smile). Aim; 48 kg, so about 8 kg weight loss, ideally.

Meals today:
Breakfast: Yoghurt
Lunch: Huge salad (ordered @ work) & greek yoghurt and fruit on top
Dinner: Homemade tuna and sweetcorn salad

I only see chocolate and fries in front of my eyes. CakeCakeCake, but going strong.

My plan is to go to the gym 3 times a week & have a cheat meal on Saturdays. Just one meal, not the whole day. Tomorrow will be Pasta Verdure, my favourite type of pasta!

OP, can I update here everyday? Is that okay?

I'm 11st10lb & 5'4''.

I want to get to 9st13lb by July 1st as that's when I'm going on holiday.
I feel best and look best at that weight.

I've lost 2 stone now (got to almost 14st) by counting calories and sticking to 1500 per day.
I also have saturated fat under 3grams per item & watch my sugar intake.

I have not stuck to the diet over Xmas & put on 5lbs but I expected that.
I take 3 different meds for my health problems which has the side effect of putting on weight.
So I will always have to watch my weight really.

I go to the gym & do rowing & weights. Currently max 2 days a week but I'd like it to be 3 days.
Also I do a lot of walking at work & around as I don't drive.

My diet is not very conventional- I have MH problems also live alone which means I don't really cook meals.
But it suits me & im used to eating in a low calorie, low fat & sugar way.

I'm proof that anything is possible as I used to be the worst chocoholic!! Also I used to be a terrible binge eater. I've managed to get over both those behaviours.

I used to binge eat for emotional reasons so it took a lot of effort to stop.

First I banned myself from having chocolates, sweets, crisps, cake, full fat cheese & takeaways in the house.

Then set a weekly food budget that I can't go over (as my income has reduced).

Made some food swaps (eg sweet fruit instead of sugary snacks) & was bingeing on grapes etc for a while.
In the end I had to cut out the sweeter fruits as well.

Now I have a drink if I feel like bingeing, such as Coke Zero or tea. Or I chew gum, get out of the house & distract myself.

I only keep the healthier sugar reduced & low fat foods at home and they don't make for fun bingeing!

Now I've lost the taste for the 'bad' things I don't want to binge on them.

I binged on a few chocolates at work over Xmas & felt unwell as I'm not used to them anymore.

The thing is that once I got used to eating healthily I also have found I don't want the unhealthy foods anyway.

I know I've probably swapped one way of disordered eating for another as I am quite obsessive about food but at least it's not so harmful..

Feel free to update as often as you like!

I'm slowly cutting out the chocolate and sweet stuff because otherwise I will be tempted to binge. I had 4 Guylian chocolates after dinner tonight. Ending the day on 2100 but am breastfeeding and according to fitbit have burned 3000 so am on a large deficit!

@Strongbeatsskinny I completely agree, thanks! My BMI is in the normal range; however I do feel (and certainly look!!) MUCH BETTER when my weight is around 50!

@BluebellTheDonkey thank you!

Thanks OP, will update daily! I am having my weekly cheat meal today thoughSmile

@aishana I completely understand what you're on about. I am an emotional eater and my relationship with food is strained. I "reward" myself with food and mainly eat when I am stressed/sad. And happy imo. Thanks for the tips!

@misscheery if you were a true emotional eater you certainly wouldn’t be weighing what you do. Yes your wanting to loose a few lbs I think if you might benefit from lifting heavy weights and sculpt yourself a nicer figure than the one you already have. A nice strong physique is a fat nicer looking body than twiggy arms and legs

Just been to the gym. Surprised to see I've lost 3lbs in 5 days - but I have counted calories for most days.

I'm following this! Same height, size and have an almost 4 month old. Have barely lost any baby weight and have found myself being really piggy being home with two kids.
I'm tracking carbs and trying to keep below 50g. Also doing 16:8 so only eating between 12-8pm and not stuffing myself then.
I've been drinking loads of water and have lost 6lbs this week. I want to aim for Size 12 too and healthy BMI. I need to lose about 4 stone.
I track food on MyFitnessPal and weight on Happyscale.
I hate being naked and want to be more confident and healthy for me and my family.
This time I'm determined to do it!

RedPandaMama · 06/01/2018 15:56

@aishana that's amazing well done!

@Whenwillwe3meetagain ahh very similar then! I'm happy at 12st 10lbs but would love to get down to 11'7 as I've never been that low in my adult life! 16:8 seems to work really well for a lot of people so good luck with that.
My family must just have lead bones I think. Grin My sister is my height and absolutely tiny, wears size 10-12 mostly due to height but is very slim, but even she weighs nearly 12 stone!

It's going well so far. I'd lost 12.5lbs before Christmas, had a 3 week binge over Christmas and had put all of it back on according to the scales (lots of water weight etc I'm sure too) and after nearly a week I'm down quite a bit.

Start weight new year: 223.5lbs
Current weight: 216lbs
Goal 1 - 199lbs - aiming for 1st March
