Calling all mums who had big babies

I'm creeping up to 7 weeks postpartum and had a nearly 11lb baby. While I have lost a lot of the weight already (despite feeling like I haven't), I'm still struggling to feel comfortable in clothes and I'm not even close to pre-baby clothing. After having a c-section, I haven't really been able to do much more in terms of exercise other than walks but I'm curious to see how long it took other mums who had big babies to fit into their normal clothes?
Thanks in advance, ladies!

At least a year! In fact I put more weight on after birth as my baby did not sleep and I ate my way through the sleep deprivation! 7 weeks is hardly any time to be honest! I am not sure you necessarily put more weight on with big babies but maybe...

However after two big babies my stomach skin is totally stretch marked and flabby and no matter how much weight I lose it will never be the same!!

I’m exactly the same as friendlessme , I certainly never lost weight by bf (6m) and am quite certain I put on more in the first few months too through lack of exercise or wherewithal to eat well.

Give yourself a year, it’s not just weight it’s also shape. Your hips need to narrow again and boobs go dish as much as anything. Don’t deprive your body if it’s much needed fuel st any cost.

Mine was 10lb 8oz but no caesarean.

I was back in my normal clothes at around 9 months. It took that long for my hips /pelvis / ribs to get about normal.

I then gained weight again when I went back to work and used chocolate to keep me awake at my desk.

Dd was 3 when I took up running and properly dieted back to a healthy weight.

As for getting a flat stomach again - 16 years and counting!

Hello OP and congrats on your bouncing baby

Same here. I took about 6 months to get back to my pre-pregnancy weight. I was running and actively dieting.

I had 2 sections too and my stomach is still not bac to normal, 17 years later (sorry!). The flab flesh there seems to be different from any other part of my body. Even when I'm boiling hot after a run, it remains cold to the touch. Very odd. I am a healthy weight and reasonably toned elsewhere but my pouch stomach remains stubbornly there, staring reproachfully at me. I absolutely hate it!

Thank you everyone! I feel like everyone around me seems to have been back in their pre-pregnancy jeans after about 3 weeks. It's nice to hear it's not just me that hasn't immediately "snapped back"!
