It’s been 6 years since the first New Mums thread but this year will be the one where we get skinny for Christmas!

We’ve tried pretty much every diet going and have supported each other through the good times and the bad. This will be our year, motivation is high and panic has set in.

Thanks for the new thread Sol.
I might be skinny for next Christmas, too late for this year!

Today has been okay.
I'm off to bed now. I'll post tomorrow.

Evening all,

Well today has been a complete wash out. I have stuffed my face. I will start fresh tomorrow.

Will post more tomorrow.

First fast day here. 500 cals and that’s my lot. I have some Exante left over that I might as well use up. Feeling optimistic that I can do it, but I’m only awake 10 mins so we’ll see how the day progresses Grin

Skipped breakfast and got through a meeting this morning with only a small stomach rumble that I think I covered nicely with a cough.

Having soup for lunch and then soup and a 100 cal popcorn thing for dinner.

Thanks for the new thread Sol

Can I make a suggestion? We amend the title to remove the 'so are we' it would just be a bit more positive and might spur us on? No worries if not though Smile

Well done on your fast day Sol I'm planning a fast day tomorrow and had one yesterday. I'm trying to be really focused. I've a few social things dotted around so I must fast 2-3 days a week if I've any hope of losing weight.
How as your night out rachey ? Was Brighton good? Yes let's go for 7lbs before Christmas. Shall we get a treat if we make it?
Green I can't remember, are you going to fast as well? I wouldn't mind trying the primer. I wear Gucci (the brown one which you can't get anymore). Not sure if it would be too floral for me too. I'm going to try and go through the rest of my toiletries later.

Good point about the title Pom. Any idea how to change it?

I think we might have to ask MNHQ, but not sure how to do that.
It's not a biggie though !
I like the Christmas aim Smile

I’m so hungry. The only thing keeping me from stuffing my chubby chops is that I don’t want to screw up on day one. I’ve meal planned for the next few days so I don’t go crazy and eat loads of junk.

Thanks for the offer Pom, but I’m not a lipstick girl. I really wish I was though, it completely changes people’s looks.

I bought hair dye to sort out the grey hair that is trying to gain a foothold. Can anyone recommend a brand that works on stubborn greys? Long gone are the days of quick rinse colours.

The day is almost over Sol

I think L'oreal ones are good, I use the semi permanent one.

Do you want the nail polish?

Report
Greenrabbit · 07/11/2017 21:50

Make a cup of tea Sol and go to bed? On my (rare) fast days I find it helpful.

I'm not sure about hair dye, sorry. I usually use the L'Oréal semi, or Superdrug. I don't have many greys but they must cover them up as they only ever show at the roots? I think I've heard good things about the John Frieda permanent.

I'm not quite sure what I'm doing Pom. I've decided just to make some gradual changes. This weeks is to only eat homemade food (so ringing DH to pick up a takeaway or pop into M&S!)? I'm also trying to avoid snacking. It's working so far.

I'm sure I own that lipstick and polish Pom! (M&S?) I'm going to give stuff to the Woman's refuge. There's also a charity called 'Give and Makeup' that takes donations.
I'm definitely going to buy less in 2018. I need to stop buying things to cheer myself up. Although I am now looking for a new coat, I'm admitting defeat with my size 16!. Any recommendations for a warm waterproof coat that isn't too expensive?

green yes, I would love the mascara (benefit be real) if it's still up for grabs.

How are you?

pom that primer is good. I highly recommend it. I agree I have to fast 2 days a week to see a weight loss. Well done on a fast day. I failed again today. I will stop pigging out at some point. But like you I have quite a few social things coming up. Brighton was amazing thanks, I love it there drank, ate and shopped. I found some Levi's 501 for. 25.00 was well chuffed. They are too long but I roll them up anyway.

What social things have you got coming up?

.sol well done on your fast day. I always though lipstick didn't suit me but I just had found the right shade. It makes such a difference, I have quite large lips thou, so lots of colours didn't suit me.

How many cals are you eating? I had a KFC today Blush I don't know why and I felt awful afterwards.

First day back in the gym today, it's been three weeks. I really missed it. I felt so good afterwards. Tomorrow I will be better.

green have you tried Zara? My sil got a nice coat from there.

I treated myself to a Barbour waxed rain coat and it's been invaluable this year.

Green - I've got a north face parka, it's very cosy. I did get a wool coat from Boden but I don't like it now (unworn) Blush

Glad you had a great time and what bargain jeans Rachey

Homemade food sounds good Green I haven't that good today, will fast tomorrow. Yes from M&S last year, I have used most things I think, but some of the colours were wrong for me. Would you like the lipstick Rachey ? What colour do you wear? I wish I had the courage to wear red, I really like it on other people.

I have some work drinks, 3 weekend lunches and 3 Christmas parties. as there are 48 days until Christmas, I still could be good for 40 (ha, as if/only).

I'll post a pic of the Boden coat tomorrow, off to bed now.

Send me your postage details please Rachey. I like Zara but I'm probably too fat!

We are lucky to have the Barbour outlet nearby so I might go at the weekend.

I'd love a Northface Pom. SIL has a lovely one but she never changes size. I think I need something cheaper.

Thanks for the suggestions, I'll have a look at the shops tomorrow too.

What lipstick did you find Rachey? I have large lips too, stupidly I just feel too self conscious in bright colours at the moment. Really we should just embrace it, everyone else seems to be getting lip fillers!
I do like nude colours though.

Brighton always looks amazing, sounds like you had a good weekend.

When are you going back to the gym? I've found out that I can go with the work pass, it's posh so I'm nervous. What would be the least embarrassing thing I could do there?

You should wear red Pom. Just wear it round the house to start with, them force yourself to go out in it.
If you don't have a red I would recommend the Kate Moss for Rimmel red (I think it's shade 001?)

Despite saying I don't need anymore cosmetics or toiletries the M&S calendar is tempting.

I wear mac whirl which is a dusty pink, sound awful but looks good on. I also like benefit the bright red is nice. I prefer Matt colours. I also own a purple but I have to be going out out to carry that off. I moisturise my lips first while doing my make up then line then apply. I get a better finish, and stops bleeding.

I will pm my address, sorry I do t have any beauty products I only buy what I know. I have never brought a beauty calendar before but you all might sway me.

pom wow sounds like your going to be a busy bee are any of the dressy affairs?

I'm off to centre parcs on Friday, the kids are dead excited esp as we have booked Santa Claus aswell

I've ate so much cheese today. I'm an idiot.

Don't think I'll get the M&S calendar. I've looked at the contents and they aren't too appealing.

I've looked at Unilqo Pom. I'm not sure if they have any that are warm and waterproof though. Plus the sizes confuse me. I do like their stuff though, lovely quality. I might be too fat at the moment.

Centre Parcs will be great Rachey, I'm jealous.
I'm going to have a look at that lipstick when I'm next in a shop, the pictures online look nice. I like 'Mehr' and 'Cream in my coffee' by Mac.

How has your day been Sol?

I was going to come on here and hang my head in shame I have eaten soooo much today. All the wrongs foods. I will get centre parcs out the way on focus after that.

It's so hard with cheese, it's so moorish but so calorific.

Have a great time in Center Parcs Rachey, it sounds fab.

I’ve been googling all of your make up recommendations, you ladies really know your stuff. I got a great winter coat in H&M, it doesn’t say it’s waterproof but it’s survived a year of wet Irish weather and I never got soaked through. It’s a very casual coat though, if you’re looking for something more fancy.

Day one of fasting went well. I’m on Day two now. I’m not going to attempt a third day this week as I think I’d just fail and it will annoy me.

Super busy in work at the moment so it’s helping a lot. And any time I feel like eating I clean, so my house is looking like less of a shit tip alreaday, so silver linings and all that.
