Hmmmm.
I'm put off anyone who talks about "clean". And what exactly does that mean?
I'm LOL that processed long life Weetabix is the choice for "clean and fresh".
I don't think there's an issue with the amount of food - seems plenty.
My issue would be that that your PT seems to have given you a plan without taking the time to walk through it with you, explain it, and answer your questions.
You need to quiz them about it!
Good luck with the weight loss though Flowers

Where's the veg?

Report
Ellisandra · 02/11/2017 23:30

Quite!

I'm distrustful of plans with supplements and you have two there.

A proper diet plan should provide enough Vitamin C (spinach is good) and avoid the things (like salt) that cause water retention.

I think 'dinner' forgot the vegetables, e.g. greens like kale, spinach, cabbage

Dandelion root?

Code for blowjob, perchance?

Why would you take dietary advice from someone who has no qualifications?

Report
OldWitch00 · 03/11/2017 00:05

it looks like an odd combination to me.
are you suppose to have the weetabix dry?
5 small meals (the wording lunch dinner supper is a bit odd but I take it one is a night time snack)
the "dinner" options are rather dry, nothing with your chunk of meat?
85 gms is about 3 ounces the recommended serving size so your meat portions are double.
very high protein...body building/weight lifting competition??
lots going through my mind, long term healthy isn't one.

Dandelion root is just a supplement that is a diuretic. Anyone else grow up with the tale that picking dandelions makes you wet the bed?! Grin

Water loss, not fat loss. Short term - better to do it via a proper diet. If OP has a medical reason for water retention she should see her GP, not self prescribe diuretics. Long term - you shouldn't use them.

Looks like your PT has printed some quack nonsense from the internet, sorry!

As I said above, they should have explained it all to you. If they've left you needing to ask on MN, they obviously haven't.

You will lose weight because that must only be about 1000 calories there but where is the veg.
Looks very low in calcium too which is going to leave you at risk of osteoporosis.
Also that’s not a maintainable meal plan for the long term.
Looks faddy.

Thats a diet a body builder would use in the last 6-12 weeks before doing a competition.

Its awful. Loads of my friends compete and that type of diet really impacts their moods and emotional stability.

Competition season is a pita.

Never trust someone who's trying to get you to eat dandelion root twice a day.

4L of water and dandelion root? You will never be off the toilet surely?!

Sorry guys here I am

Yes that’s what he’s given a group of four of us..

Training 4 times a week, mixture of spin and circuits

Training is dead on - hard work but enjoyable. And yes, the dandelion root makes ya pee Grin

I just don’t think this sounds particularly healthy. I dunno, seems like a quick fix?

I usually eat:

Breakfast - quick plain Quaker porridge add hot water thing

Lunch - Tesco finest tomato soup or vegetable soup

Dinner - (biggest downfall) baked potato or pasta or something ridiculously unhealthy

I also like toast Blush

I’m 5ft 1 and 10 stone ffs. I do not snack, take sugar in my tea and I dunno, I cannot get this stone off. I have strong legs but I want to lose weight from my arms and dreaded belly..I’ll never be a stick but my clothes fit and I feel better at 9 stone Sad

If I eat more than 1,200 calories a day I put weight on. For me to lose weight I’ve to eat about 800 a day and it kills me. I sleep terribly, look terrible and I fight with my shadow. I’m so bloody down Sad

So he's given the same crappy plan to 4 people? Do all 4 have water retention issues? Hmm
He's a PT not a dietician.
I would never follow a plan with no vegetables and relyInt on supplements.

If carbs are your downfall, check out the low carb threads Flowers

Josh..i sympathise.. I eat around 900 calories a day and run 10k x4 a week and that maintains me at a size 12. Am 5ft4 and weigh 11st 4lbs

Eat more than that and I put on weight.
I got blasted on a diet thread earlier this week for suggesting that if you want to lose weight you need to eat a lot less than you think and we often massively underestimate portion size and calories.

Hence why so many people say 'I don't understand why I don't lose weight'

I think your diet plan from pt is OK if you can eat veg with it.

I never eat breakfast because I am just not hungry in the morning.
Lunch is usually a salad with lean protein
Dinner is then something pretty normal like spaghetti bol or roast or risotto or whatever I am cooking for family but I eat small portions.
I rarely eat fruit.
Never snack except in summer when gorge on tomatos from garden

I like wine...

Once a week or so have pizza /curry takeaway.. Love it, enjoy it but again I just eat enough to feel very slightly full.

I feel strong, lean and healthy.

If I want to lose weight I drop the wine and eat plain veg and plain protein only at dinner.
You could try that?

Um are you even actually overweight ? Hmm

I’m the same height as you and I look great at ten stone ...

Maybe that’s your natural weight and the exercise will just firm you up lovely. Why don’t you just aim for healthy, fit and strong?

JellyBean I have also been roasted on here previously for admitting that 800/900 calories was a losing target for me..ripped to absolute shreds for it

I’m a terrible cook, that doesn’t help - and I’ve a horrible working/mother schedule that means me flopping on the sofa at 9pm for an hour is all the free time I have. I know I need to work on organising myself better but honestly - working ft and fitting in exercise when DS is farmed out to his little clubs, completely wrecks me - never mind batch cooking and loving preparing meals Hmm my own mother despairs of me

I am not massive. I have a few pairs of Next size ten jeans I can get my arse into..I’m generally a twelve but I have a terrible belly. My God. I’ll maybe post a photo of it - I swear I’m gonna need surgery on it. No amount of exercise will shift it and I’m the exact shape of my mum - never seen anyone else with a belly like it before

Legs are okay, not small but they’re strong and I’m cool with it. I’m quite broad with a biggish ribcage and my arms aren’t exactly what I want them to be - but I do think nine stone and I’ll be a happy chappy. Not even concerned with a “bikini body” or fuck all, would just love to buy clothes without the fear of what they’re gonna look like on Sad

Well we are clearly not alone.. I do wonder why people are so scathing of lowish calories diets.
I fact 25yrs ago the recommendations for colorie intake was lower and weight watchers diets were developed around 1000 calories being what you could eat to lose weight. Now we are told women should eat around 2000 calories and so many people, believe 1500 calories is a weight reducing diet... When it's not.
Plus the massive under estimating of calories.. In previous thread a dieter was saying her breakfast was under 250 calories, I reckoned it was double that.
You have been very honest about your life and what is realistic for you.. Just think the whole pt diet sounds a bit faddy
