Ooo, just spotted this.

Doing OK, though ds2 is poorly which rules out the gym for me (though left him with dh yesterday). 3 meals out to get through this week including buffet lunch today. Think I did OK, but I guess the scales will let me know! Girlie night tomorrow night - still hunting for ideas.

I didn't manage much in the way of exercise last week with my tummy bug. Last night I was starving and wanted to eat all sorts of naughty things. In the evening I had two glasses of red wine, two packets of salt & vinegar Snack a Jacks and two Skinny Cow ice lollies, arrrrrgh! Saturday night we had a chinese buffet. So it's 16 points for me for the next couple of days!

Not sure about ideas for your girly night ladymuck, I'd be tempted to say hang the diet lets have a takeaway and make sure you go for something not too bad, perhaps chicken tikka (the type where you get the tikka chicken breast with the sauce separate, at our local takeaway the sauce that goes with this dish isn't at all creamy).

Oh no tummy bug has made a reappearance.

Thanks Demented. We were boring - went for Chinese with bioled rice, no starters or sides. Those of us watching our weight went for chicken with mushroom, 4 kinds of vegetable, sweet and sour chicken (no batter), and the 4th pushed the boat out with chicken with cashew nuts! Washed down with pepsi max and wine.

Must admit did feel better not to be bloated this morning, and hadn't put on any weight (unusual for me after chinese and wine!). Exercise has been going OK - getting to the gym every other day - would have been every day but ds2 poorly on Sunday and I was knackered tpday after ds1's food colouring/sugar outburst yesterday (needless to say nothing artificial has passed his lips today!)

Have got about two stone to lose (minimum) and could do with some support....

That sounds very nice ladymuck, hope you had a good time.

lalaa, of course you can join us, I'm certainly here for the longterm, even when I reach my goal (whatever that may be) I'm pretty sure I'll still need you lot to help me maintain it ! If you mail me at mn.bigmamas(at)virgin(dot)net with your starting weight, goal weight (if any), then just mail me every Thursday with your loss and it will be announced on the appropriate weekly thread on the Friday night (sometime between 6pm and 9pm).

My own computer is not accessing the internet at the moment (using DH's just now) so I haven't been able to check my e-mails, but just a little reminder to anyone who hasn't mailed me yet that tomorrow before 5pm is the cut-off.

Hope everyone has had a good week!

HELLO ARTYALEX & DEMENTED

HOW HAVE U DONE THIS WEEK? I'VE MANAGED TO LOSE A LITTLE DESPITE ALL MY MEALS OUT ETC. NEED TO BUCKLE DOWN AND BEHAVE MYSELF FROM NOW ON THO - IT'S ALWAYS EASY TO LOSE WEIGHT THE FIRST WEEK. NOW THE REAL HARD WORK STARTS!!

Well I've not had a good result at all this time around - invitable I suppose after last week. We had a nice weekend away in Italy - but it was spoilt a bit by discovering when we got back that I'd managed to gain 8.25 lbs in just two days. Not fair! Ok so I'd had some pasta, pizza, bread and beer - but really not enough to justify that. Honestly.

Actually I'm starting to wonder if I do have a problem with wheat/wheat products? (Notice the common factor in those items?) I've noticed before that on the odd occasion when I have bread or pasta, I can petty well guarantee to gain 4 or 5 pounds in a single day. Yet when I avoid wheat completely I'm losing more than I logically should based on what I'm eating. What do you think? Have you ever heard of a wheat sensitivity contributing to weight gain?

Oh - I did manage to lose some of that gain over the last few days, but still ended up 3.5 lbs up on the week

I've had a strange week (I'm very naughty and weigh myself far more than I should) on Saturday I had lost 1lb, on Tuesday I had lost another lb (was very chuffed with myself, under 11 stone etc) when it came to the official weigh-in however I am back up to 11st so basically have lost nothing .

I would like to welcome Lalaa and my DH as two new members this week. My DH is banned from posting though!

Not been too bad this week though my loss has been over 2 weeks not 1. I don't feel as though i'm too much of a slave to it thankfully and am enjoying treats now and then.

Ladymuck, looks like we're in competition

good luck to everyone for next week

Hmmm... I usually have a deeply competitive streak (Dh refuses to play board games with me!), but so far it has never stretched to dieting...

Well I'm heading off to the gym now (to run off our meal out last night!)
