Anyone looking to lose 100lbs plus in 2017-18 - Part 3

Hello, welcome to the third instalment of the ‘Anyone looking to lose 100lbs plus in 2017’ thread. As we’re getting closer to the end of 2017, I’ve added 2018 for good measure Smile

If you want to read them (but by no means feel obliged!), the first and second threads are here: Part 1 and here: Part 2

We’re a very friendly, supportive group, and I think we’re all seeing some real changes in ourselves and our attitudes to food. It’s a long old road, but it helps to chat along the way Wink Collectively, we’ve lost 612 lbs since the start of the first thread, which is pretty amazing Grin

We tend to weigh in on Fridays or Saturdays, but feel free to join in at any time, with whatever weight loss method you think works best for you. Some of us have lost more than others, but we're all in this together, so if you're losing, gaining or staying the same, it's nice to have some inspiration to keep going.

We’re always welcoming to newcomers, but as with the previous thread, I will make one caveat - we’re all here because we are trying to lose a LOT of weight. If you’re looking to lose the last half stone, or even two or three stone, this might not be the thread for you. Good luck with your goals, but you may find more support with in threads with people who have similar goals.

And with that, I'm off to spam our old thread to fill it up Grin

Thanks for the new thread.

Well after my binge yesterday, I've eaten sensibly today. Didn't fancy breakfast; lunch was homemade butternut squash and red pepper soup and dinner was Heck sausages, carrot and swede mash and homemade 'baked beans'. I've also done two YouTube workouts this evening as my DCs went to bed on time (they're awful sleepers so often don't get a chance). I always feel so much better for doing them. Hope everyone else has had good days.

Well done bear - it takes a lot of strength to eat sensibly after it's all gone to pot the day before. And two workouts is pretty impressive! Star

My day has not been the most productive, but I've made sensible choices. My caffeine consumption has been starting to creep up, so I'm knocking that right back to 1 cup in the morning, and then water for the rest of the day. I've noticed I have far less water during the day when I have a coffee on the go, so I'm sure I'll feel better for making the switch Smile.

Yey! New thread Grin
Thank you NoTractors for starting it
Bear well done for great day today
I decided to take advantage of my new boots and walked home from work (over an hour it took me but really enjoyed it). Followed it with Epsom salts bath and a smoothie for dinner. Now patiently waiting for new Doc Martin to start at 9pm...

A lovely new thread, thank you Notractors A big wow at the 612 lbs lost and to the many more lbs we'll lose.

Well this week is disastrous as far as eating better goes! Seriously understaffed at work so I'm on 12 hour days minimum and this leads to grazing on crap Sad. Just need to turn the week around and actually cook something

That sounds really tough Aph - I've had times likes that where it's so tempting just to get a takeaway or dive into a pile of toast. Scrambled eggs are a good one for me, as they fill me up for ages, and gets me back into thinking about food, rather than just reaching for crisps. Hope you get back to normal soon.

oooh shiney new thread!!

I'm not having the best of weeks. Massively chasing my tail at work at feel a bit under the weather - nothing serious, just a bit achey after a week of long walks on the beach (sand isn't the best walking surface for a metal ankle!) and bloaty/achey stomach (probably pre PMS, seems to start earlier every bloody month).

Need to get my game face back on!

I've recently joined the 10st thread but will join here too if that's ok as I find these threads really helpful. 4 years ago I was a size 10/12 and now I'm a 20, it was getting worse and worse every year and I've recently returned on holiday and for the first time really have to motivation to lose it.

I had 6st 8lbs to lose to get to my target weight. Started 10 days ago and lost 10lb so far. I can't believe how much better I feel already.

My 1 year old DD hasn't been sleeping the last few weeks and usually I would feel awful but I have more energy than ever. Fully know that weight loss will slow down so I am hoping (rather ambitiously) to be at my target weight this time next year.

It's amazing how much energy eating nourishing, healthy food and doing some exercise can give you isn't it?

And you're already close to a stone off which is a great motivator.

Hope everyone else is having good days!

I'm having a good week, but very much looking forward to the weekend!
I've also failed a bit in my experiment to meal plan and shop for two weeks - needed to top up on salad veg and 'emergency' chicken as I'd forgotten to defrost what I needed last night too busy spamming the last thread Blush Grin

KOKO you bunch of losers Wink

Public service announcement - those of a sensitive nature may wish to stop reading now.

It turns out that when you have been low-carbing, avoiding sugar, eating less volume and generally being a 'good girl' for about three months, it's not advisable to eat a whole, large, extremely rich and moist, delicious brownie. My digestive system is objecting volubly. There are seismic events going on in my intestines. The farting is continuous and of both types (loud and silent-but-deadly). Friday night marital relations have had to be postponed for the health and safety of all concerned.

I have followed it up with a Hendricks gin and light tonic, on the basis that the bubbles might settle my stomach. It's either working or the gin is preventing me from caring that it's not working, either way it's better. Grin

That made me giggle BlackAmericano - I’m sure a gin and tonic is recommended in such cases Wink

I’m delighted this morning, I do believe I have had a whoosh! Grin. I’ve consciously eaten smaller portions of carbs and upped my veg, so I’m going to stick with that going forward. Proper LCHF didn’t suit me, but this seems far more achievable.

Lost this week: 4 lb
To lose: 124 lbs
Lost to date: 33.5 lbs
Left to lose: 90.5 lbs

Well done Notractors I believe you indeed had a whoosh Grin

Oh dear BlackAmericano, sounds nasty but good thinking on the bubbles front !

Loss this week 0.75lb
Total loss 80.25lb
To lose 29.25lb

Feeling lucky this morning. Took my eye off the game during dog walk yesterday and a lab came up behind me and knocked me flying. I think as I didn't see it coming I didn't tense and landed really well with no harm done. Dread to think what might have happened if i'd been 80lbs heavier.

NoTractor Yey! Lovely to have a whoosh, isn't it?
NotaNurse and PostNot well done
BlackAmericano hope you feel better today. Sounds like my day yesterday as well. No chocolate brownie but involved quite a large amount of chocolate (and 1G&T as well). Why on earth did I think the chocolate was a good idea I do not know... well refuse to weigh myself today, will do on Monday. 'thankfully' it is 'just' my stomach which is not happy today (or the chocolate didn't reach the rest of the digestive tract yet... oh dear don't even want to think about that...) in all fairness it was my Easter chocolate which was sitting there and I was curious how I would feel if I ate it... now I know not to experiment with chocolate.... lesson learnt...

Joining this thread as well as I have a lot to lose.
My first goal is to fit in an aeroplane seat so I can go to New York with my son
What sort of weight do people think would fit in a seat comfortably?
I'm currently 18 stone 9 but was thinking if I got to 15 stone would I fit in?

Happy birthday notanurse Flowers!

Welcome Sillysausage Smile I fly quite a lot, and haven't had a problem - however, I think it does depend how tall you are. I'm tall (5"10-11), and at 18st odd, I could fit in an aeroplane seat (on loads of airlines) without needing a seat belt extender or feeling uncomfortably wedged in. However, I think if I had been six inches shorter, and the same weight, it would have been uncomfortable for everyone. In saying that, regardless of height, there's no doubt it is far healthier, safer and easier to fly when you are a healthy weight Smile. NY is a great reward to work towards, that's going to feel really good when you get off the plane!

Happy Birthday Notanurse🌈☀️🌻🌷🐼🎁🎉🎈Your DD sounds really lovely. I started mid November so had a head start.

Welcome Sillysausage I was ok on Airtransat at 5 ft 6 at 18 stone I think probably though hadn't weighed at the time.

Sillysausage123 · 30/09/2017 13:49

I'm only short so the weight is all around my middle unfortunately so I can't risk booking anywhere until I lose a good few stone.
I've just measured 17 inches across my hips for the seat width of most planes and I've no chance of fitting in yet, I wish they had a seat you could try and fit in at the airport to try as 17 inches width I don't think is that wide
