5"2 and 3+ stone OBESE!

CosyFires · 26/09/2017 15:39

Hi everyone!

I thought I'd start a thread for some support on my weight loss mission!

I'm 5"2 and weighed 12'12 at the beginning of September. I'm getting married next August and want to lose 3 stone by then 😱

I've bought a Fitbit to help and gone from having 3 massive take aways a week to having one once a month. I've cut down on calories and snacking, eating less and healthier. Gone from not moving much in the day 3000 steps to doing 12,000+ steps a day with a couple of cardio sessions a week.

Weighed myself today and have lost 7lbs/half a stone so far!! Feeling positive!!

Anyone else? Feel free to jump on this thread!

That's a brilliant start!

I think the just plain 'eating less' approach is seriously under-rated.

Well done to you! I'm also 5'2", would like to lose a stone before my holiday in November, and ideally another stone by Christmas (currently 10st10).

Good luck!

Losing weight is almost entirely down to what you eat. Exercise is obviously a great help but it isn't enough on its own (you can't outrun your fork etc).

My advice is MFP used with 100% honesty, weighing absolutely everything and sticking to a strict calorie deficit. No gimmicky diets, no cutting out entire food groups, just CICO (calories in/calories out).

I weighed 12st 5lbs at the start of August. I'm 5'3 which out me just into the 'Obese' BMI category Shock.

This morning I weighed 10st 13lbs Smile. Still have a stone to go but well on the way.

I'm 5' and weigh well over 9 stone so really need to join you. Used MFP before really successfully but currently binge eat most evenings Sad

I'm 5ft 1 and in March I weighed 13st 7. I now weigh 10st 13 so I've lost quite a bit but need to lose another stone and a half just to get to the top end of a healthy bmi! I've been low carbing, but I've really stagnated the last couple of weeks, lost my motivation a bit. Could do with being spurred on!

Wow you guys have done so well! It's so good to hear that it's achievable! Keep it going 💪🏼! I'd love to weigh 10 something Blush I hate exercising and Miss my takeaway but I hate resembling a bowling ball too 😭

I will reach a healthy BMI and get into a size 12 wedding dress!!!

5ft 2 and want to lose a stone. I weighed five stone heavier than I do now three years ago..... this last year a stone has slowly crept back on. Nipping it in the bud now while there's only one stone to lose

Also I don't stick to my Bmi. I look way way to skinny (and ill people point out) when I get below 9 and a half stone. I just go by weight and my clothes .

Lottey Well done I'm sure you'll lose the stone you want! I'm not going to obsess over my BMI, I just don't want to be obese, my target weight is 9.5 stone but I'd be over the moon with 10 even if that's classes me as overweight BMI wise!

Thank you, once I got in the right mindset the weigh just fell off. It's getting to that point though that's the hard bit Grin

That's a brilliant start OP. Well done everyone else too.
I'm another one who is 5'2 and aiming to lose 1 1/2 stone. I keep losing 1/2 stone then losing focus and putting it back on.

I'm sure you can do it! What are you struggling with?

I've downloaded this app again. It's called seven. You do the twelve excersise moves the app tells you too, lasts only seven minutes, and you do it once a day (can do more than one circuit if you choose to though)
I used to do it religiously and honestly it really toned me. Stopped for a year though. Been doing it three days and my body is sooo sore haha. Already feel better for doing it Smile.

How's everyone else doing? Also how often are you guys going to weigh?

@RandomMess - Don't be disheartened! I'm the laziest shit going and if I can kick my arse into gear then so can you!

@Zeelove - I bought myself a set of scales the other day so I don't have to wait! They measure body fat too Blush Hard to keep off them now though!

Good tip I received off a trainer - Don't focus on weight focus on a dress size you want to achieve. He asked me what I'd rather, be a size 12 or weigh 9 stone. I said weigh 9 stone. He said ok, what if you weighed 9 stone but was still a size 16, how would you feel? That made me realise! He said your weight can fluctuate so much even in a day and if you focus on that then you're more likely to give up, where as a dress size isn't going to change on a daily basis!

At least DH is on board, he is almost double my weight... there was a bit of a strop over plain boiled potatoes for tea from me though Blush

Zeelove · 30/09/2017 22:15

That's so true. It's all about feeling confident in your clothes x

Report
CosyFires · 30/09/2017 22:20

Exactly that's everyone's goal at the end of the day, to feel good about themselves and gain confidence!

I'd strop at boiled potatoes too Blush😂

Just wanted to share this calculator with you - personalise for your height, activity level, age and tells you how many calories you are using to maintain your weight and how many to reduce to in order to loose it.

I think being short we forget that we do just need less than all our taller counterparts to start off with!

Fab but utterly depressing at how few calories a short arse needs Sad

Mine has calculated at 1,300 a day! But if I excercise, I can add on calories I've burnt! Meh doesn't seem worth it though 😂

I'm liking using MyFitnessPal again but need to get DH to weigh my food as I'm doing a lot of guesstimating weights for dinner. My main culprit has always been the evening snacking so that is what has been cut out...
