I am just so fed up with being a couple of stone overweight. I have carried this weight for about four years now.

I am 51 and 5'5 and currently weigh 10'9 (maybe a little more) and carry all my extra weight around my middle and look very barrel like. My legs and arms are not too bad.

I am so pissed off with what I see looking back at me in the mirror and I have to deal with it as it is making me really miserable.

I don't really over eat proper food but I do have a serious sugar habit and consume tons of the stuff.

Tomorrow is going to be all change and I am going to lose my chub.

Please come and hold my chubby hand and join me.

I'm in. And I really mean it. I'm 5.5 and 10 stone, determined to get back to 8.10 (v slight frame). I'm calorie counting, swapping wine for vodka soda and sleeping more.
Let's do this!

Good morning new recruits.

I am really pleased that you have posted and will join me. You will need to be prepared for my constant whinging!

I will not be following any particular diet but I am cutting out all the sweet stuff and drastically reducing my carb intake.

I have just dusted off my Fitbit and have put it on charge and am aiming to do 10,000 steps a day.

I will be showering in a bit so I will get my starting weigh in then and will post.

Good luck to you all, please stick with me, strength in numbers and all.

Hi cherry I need to join you. My weight has crept up over the last year and I am now 3 stone overweight and the heaviest I have ever been when not pregnant. I am going to do ww online and swim and walk more. I will weigh myself over the weekend to get my start weight. My first mini goal is to be 1 stone lighter by Halloween.

Mercury welcome

It really sucks being over weight, it makes me feel awful about myself.

Stick with us, we can all achieve weight loss.

We all need to post our starting weight. I know it is scary getting on the scales!

Ok so I have weighed myself and I am 10'8

This doesn't sound too bad but I am so round it's almost comical.

I'm going to hit the supermarket and get in some healthy food.

Fitbit is still working and firmly on my wrist.

Oh I have shaved, exfoliated and body buttered, put make up on and blow dried. New start!

What's the plan girls..

Calorie intake 1500??
Exercise 4 days a week ?

Report
PinkOnWednesday · 12/08/2017 15:51

Cherry that doesn't sound bad at all but I get that being comfortable in yourself is so important and weight is a big part of that. The self care sounds fab too

I'm going to be calorie counting (not sure how many, guess it will vary) using mfp and definitely attempting exercise, 4 times a week sounds challenging but achievable, I hope!

twobambinos · 12/08/2017 18:28

I have also weighed in 10st 8 but I'm shorter than you op.
Started my period today too so maybe some water weight or may be in denial. Exercise 4 times a week no problem for me. Food is a different story however.

3 stone for me. Weighed this morning at 13st exactly.

So far today I have run 10k very very slowly and had a 200 cal protein shake so its all going well so far.

Dieting is so much easier when you don't get out of bed til two!

I'm in too. I'm 10st 11 & 5'4". Post DC2 (now 5!) I had got down to 10st 4 & maintained it for a couple of years but it all went a bit wrong last Christmas & I have never quite got back in the zone.
I think it is about 10 weeks until half term. Ideally, I'd like to be 10st then (and then 9st10 by early December) but, as I gave PCOS, I lose weight very slowly...oh, and I have zero will power.
I have just done Day 1 of the 30 day shred. I meant to go for a run but couldn't face it.
Off out for an Indian tonight but it's a "posh" one so mini portions which should help with the calories.

I'm in! I'm starting again tomorrow. Haven't weighed myself but probably have 2-3 stone to hopefully lose.

I am SO unhappy. I do not carry extra weight well at all (pretty short). Feeling like this is really impacting on my life

Morning all

Everything went wrong yesterday food wise. My daughter broke her foot so spent hours at the hospital and I ate chocolate and crisps from the vending machine then Chinese in the evening.

On the plus side I have my baby home with me for a couple of days because she can't drive herself at the moment.

I'm such a failure!

I will be ok today now my daughter is sorted

I hope that you are all doing better than me.

I'm a couple of days late to this but would like to join in please!

I'm back from holiday and whilst it wasn't the usual ice cream and wine filled feasting, I've definitely put a bit on and was already overweight at the start. I'm aiming to lose 7lbs by the time school starts (24 days, so tight but doable) then another 7lbs by half term and another 7lbs by Christmas. I would be pretty chuffed with myself, even if I put a bit back on over Christmas and NY.

My apple watch is charged and I have a couple of weeks where DD is away so I can run in the evenings, will hopefully get to bed early a few nights and play tennis with DH. I do sit a lot at work but will try to walk into town etc and am aiming for 15000 steps each day.

I am now off to review the fridge and think about meals for the next few days...

morning everyoneSmile
Cherry, so sorry to hear about your DD hope she's feeling better today. Today is a fresh start for you after all!
Welcome AliceSmile

I'm feeling positive so far today, just a coffee for breakfast (would rather have a bigger lunch and dinner), going to fill up my water bottle in a minute and try and find my Fitbit! Good luck to you all for a healthy positive day!

penstemon · 13/08/2017 23:48

How has everyone done today? I have had a fairly good day. Again, I did 30DS rather than run. 30DS really tones me up but I don't think it is enough to help with weight loss.
Food today was:

  • 1 slice French toast with raspberries & yogurt
  • mid afternoon snack of a nectarine & a sausage (not together!)
  • supper - shellfish & salad
Drinks were a coffee, a Diet Coke & lots of cups of tea. A few glasses of water too.
Aim for tomorrow is fewer milky drinks & more veg.

Right, well I've made a start - a brilliant one but it is a start.

Getting back to eating three sensible sized meals is going to be important for me, and also knocking back wine drinking during the week. I was at work today so spent quite a while at my desk, but walked to the shops at lunchtime and also played tennis for an hour this evening. Apple Watch is currently showing 12,254 steps

Today's food:

Eat natural nut bar
Chicken sandwich and apple
Oat cakes and smoked cheddar
Chicken gyozo with broccoli and shredded carrots
Half and iced bun (the ice half)

Obviously I shouldn't have had the iced bun but I'm reasonably happy with the rest and have had loads of water.

Tomorrow I am going to try for a run. I can't decide whether to go at the crack of dawn, or when it gets dark, to avoid being seen by anyone I know!

Well I was doing really well... until I got back from work an hour ago. Pissed off with myself now!

Late night eating is such a downfall with me, especially when working a late shift. Must find willpower!!

Right well obviously in the previous post I meant I didn't have a brilliant start, but anyway, I'm still here! Anyone else around?

Yesterday I had a good day of eating although I did have a glass of wine:

Omelette with tomatoes
Spicy chicken with rice & veg
2 almond macarons
Salmon with dill and horseradish, couple of roast new potatoes and beetroot, green beans

I played tennis again and clocked up about 12,500 steps. Today though I've had a scratchy throat and tickly cough and I had a dreadful night's sleep so not had a lot of energy. In meetings for most of the day and driving but have perked up a bit now and done a lot of tidying. Food as follows:

Eat natural nut bar
Chicken and lemon focaccia and mini cheddars; blackberries
Big bowl of melon
Left over salmon & beans; more melon; elderflower jelly

I've only done 6,500 steps today; really hoping I have more energy tomorrow! I'll be weighing in on Friday morning and I need to see a loss...
