Small amount to lose REGROUP

PaintingOwls · 01/08/2017 20:52

A few months ago I was on a support thread for women who wanted to lose a small amount of weight but I have lost track of it and thought it was worth trying to re-group!

I lost 6kg in 3 months and dropped a dress size.

However, with the turn of the weather my appetite has turned ferocious and some of my good work is beginning to be undone Angry

I have eaten so much in the past 2 weeks that I have even abandoned MyFitnessPal as I can't face looking at how much I've eaten.

I also bought 2 new pairs of trousers for work so I really, really can't afford to gain weight again.

SO old small-amounters and new alike, welcome to the new support thread!

where hopefully I won't just be supporting myself

Yes - holidays and lethargy mean I have gained 4kg - not a lot but I am not tall.

Height 161cm Starting weight 54kg Current Weight 58kg Goal weight 54kg.

Hope to lose by making sure I do a long walk everyday and watch what I eat.

How is day 1 going? Miserable day here so changed my plans and spent the morning doing housework - hope I burnt off some calories!

Hey good to see you again!
I've stopped weighing but I've been very consistent with exercise (cycling to and from work 4 days a week (4x24k) and running 6k once a week. I've not been too strict on food but I've fallen into a semi habit of skipping breakfast a couple days a week especially if I've eaten late (and/or lots) the night before. So 16:8 type of thing but not every day.
Anyway in the past week 3 different people have commented on my weight/fitness (eg "have you been working out") so I think something is happening albeit slowly. My clothes feel MUCH better on too. I need to watch my sweet tooth as that is always the undoing of me.
Might weigh soon though I am dreading seeing no change at all on the scales which is often the case.
Don't feel at target yet so would be good to hang out with you all.

I wondered if I can join you even though it's a few days behind?
I've just got back from holiday and was gutted when I got back on the scales. I need to shift about 12lbs but seem to be eating everything I can get my hands on!!
Accountability on here would be a massive help and I'm so glad I found this thread.
So I hope it's ok if I post on here how my weight loss is going
Thank you girls

Welcome back SL26, that'll be me in a few weeks after my holidays :0

Forgot to say I weighed this am
Height = 1.65m
Weight=65kg
(Actually the lowest I've been for a while as I was stuck on 66kg no matter what I did)
Target was 60kg but I think I might review as I don't think it's achievable or even healthy for me due to my build/frame
So target = 63kg

I'm going to declare weight I've got up to tomorrow morning and I'm then going to go for a run! This is due to my ongoing love affair with Mr Ben and his mate Mr Jerry which I overdid last night, I have got to avoid the supermarket when I'm bored or feeling I should 'treat' myself.
Hope everyone else is having a more successful time. Catch up tomorrow

I was on that thread or a similar one. No progress though. I lost 2 or 3 lb but then had a month from hell where I was working 70 hr weeks due to covering for my manager while she was off sick. Lots of lazy eating, convenience food and no exercise. It was topped off with a week in Italy with lots of pizza and ice cream.

I could do with getting back in control. I don't want to lose much but I want to get fitter and improve my health.

Currently 11 8 down from 11 10 post-holiday weight last weekend.

Aiming for 11 2 which puts me into a healthy BMI for my height. I have got a bad back at the moment so might try to lose more to see if it helps. One step at a time though!

I'm giving myself 4 weeks of no snacking and 2 extra gym sessions and if I can't do it I will try another tactic. Not sure what yet.

Without really planning to, I've started having two meals a day quite often during the week when I'm working, big proper sit down hot meals(canteen at work) - just main course though, at around midday and 8pm. I don't seem to have my usual sweet/carb cravings but not sure if it's a coincidence.
I do find that though I love breakfast, when i have it I tend to eat more the rest of the day. I run or cycle to work which seems to suppress my appetite till late morning. Might not be good for me who knows. Holidays next week and I will definitely be having big breakfasts every day so all will be undone anyway!

Joining too. Need to lose half a stone after eating way too much on holiday. Aiming for 9st2lb by start of school term. That's about 6-7lb I reckon but a bit scared to get on the scales. Will do it in the morning and see what damage has been done!

Think it may be a thread I started, I definitely could do with a bit of refocus!!

Will update with weight tomorrow but good to get back on it, thanks for reviving Painting

I'm 43 and 5ft 5" and weighed 10st 1.8lbs this morning.

Half a stone would be amazing but more realistically I would love to be 9st 10.

Oh dear oh dear, got on the scale this morning, weigh in at 10st 7lbs which means I have put on 1stone since I went on holiday 3 weeks ago. I'm 5ft 8" aged 52 and although technically my BMI is fine, I feel awful carrying this extra weight. I usually run 3/4 times a week and do a lot of cycling but now I seem to have lost all motivation to move at all, I just want to eat all the time!
I definitely need you ladies to keep me on track!
Just as a quick question, has anybody tried using Spark People? Is it just me or is it very complicated? There seem to be an awful lot of groups to join!
Have a great day girls. It's kick ass Monday tomorrow
xx

Decided to weigh in Monday mornings - 57.5kg this morning so half a kilo gone. I have moved more this week and tried to not overeat or snack, more effort required going forward I fear to shift this last bit.
Not heard of Sparks People so off to look at that but not generally good at anything complicated.

I'd like to join too, please. I got down from 12s 5lbs at Christmas to 9s 10lbs a couple of weeks ago. Then we went on holiday where I stuffed myself silly and had lots of ice cream every day. I gained 3lbs which I'm actually quite relieved by given how much I ate! I'm 5' 4" and my goal is 9s.

I cycle several times a week and do weights at the gym. Yesterday was my first cycle in 2 weeks and despite being pretty active on holiday, it was a bit of a slog. Grin Am off to the gym shortly - will see how that goes. I'm back to my normal eating habits so no more ice cream until Saturday (treat day). Sigh.

Well done on your weight loss so far Noofly, great achievement!

First day here and stuck to 1200 cals. Not an overly active day but did walk the dog.

Here's to keeping it up for more than one day Grin Body Pump booked for tomorrow eve.

Hope everyone has started the week well!

Wow Noofly that is an amazing loss well done! Don't worry about the holiday gain that'll be gone in no time.
What are your tips for successful weight loss?

When the DC are away with Scouts and you find out that All Bar One does 4 tapas and a bottle of wine for £20 on a Tuesday it does nothing for your diet Grin

Thank you, Bumble & NewYear . Grin I had an emergency gall bladder removal last year two days before Christmas and I was weighed in hospital. That gave me quite a shock as I thought I was about a stone less than I was. I decided to use the first week recovery to cut all the crap out of my diet- mostly sugar as I would have massive mugs of coffee with 4 teaspoons of sugar plus multiple biscuits (those big ones that come in packs of 4-5 in supermarkets) plus crisps etc.

I then added in cycling once I'd lost a bit and then added the gym. I was eating so much crap and not exercising so it was fairly obvious what I needed to do- just so hard to get the motivation before!

I'm really hungry today. I'm always hungry on a Thursday- don't know why, other days are fine. Will be keeping super busy to keep my mind off it.

Morning, can I join? Trying to lose the last bit on my diet, got 4.6kg to lose! Why is this last bit such a struggle?

Report
Oogle · 11/08/2017 12:40

Can I join you please?

I'm currently 59.5kg and want to get to 55kg. I go to the gym 3-4 times a week and have just started with a P/T but it's my diet I'm struggling with. I LOVE wine and even when eating well, I struggle to shift the pounds. I think I need to get rid of the wine but it's so hard during summer as everyone is having a party, etc.
