Getting toned?

caremummy · 11/07/2017 12:04

Firstly, I don't think I've ever been toned in my life 🙃hence my lack of knowledge but I'm now doing sw, c25k + some cardio at the gym. However, I need some help with toning exercises (which I can do at the gym) as currently I just do the exercise bike, rowing and treadmill. Any ideas appreciated it's my thighs and stomach which need work 😶

Can you pay for a session with a personal trainer to give you some advice? I did this a while ago - £20 for an hour and it was a great investment, he showed me loads of new exercises and made sure I was doing them properly. You could probably book something through your gym.

Squats are easy to do at home at anytime. I do 40 while cooking dinner. But yes to getting a PT to show you how to do things properly. Good form is the key.

Thankyou both, I'll ask about PT- seems an obvious idea now 💡

My PT is worth his weight in gold. He's taken me on a journey from 15 stones to just under 9 stones, and a size 20 to a size 8, and is now getting me the muscles that I long for Blush

If you can get someone who works well with you, I can't recommend it enough.

I don't have a PT, nor ever put a foot in the gym, and I've been able to tone my arms (hello big guns!), my legs (although this is all my running) and abs. I've only followed some routines from FitStar(an app you can download). I've also lost 4st in the meantime :)
