Not2bObvious · 08/07/2017 20:34

I know tread etiquette says finish up old thread before posting in new one but I want to say hi from breezy abroad😁 Let's kick the a* out of this thread and hit some goals

Thanks, not.

I'm well within my 1200 limit today and a healthy deficit too thanks to a 3 hour walk.Halo.

Managed to squeeze a portion of chips and curry sauce in too.

sweetbitter · 08/07/2017 22:30

Great day for me MFP-wise thanks to a bit of dental surgery turning eating from a pleasure into a pain! A Gu chocolate cheesecake pot still slips down nice and easy though ;-)

caggie09 · 09/07/2017 22:00

I didnt track calories today, but I know id be well over if I did anyway. Its Monday tomorrow, so fresh start! (Ive said that quite a few times now) and ive tried to plan meals for the whole week. Going to the gym bright and early tomorrow, get a quick hour in on the treadmill. Wishful thinking that I will be 11st at the end of the month if I carry on the way I am!

OddMollie · 10/07/2017 08:41

Hi everyone - I've been lurking for a few weeks, reading all your tips and getting loads of encouragement from your posts and have lost 8lb of my target stone since the end of May. BUT - disaster today! Have gone onto MFP this morning to register my weight (always scary enough on a Monday) and discovered one of those annoying apple security scams ('your iPhone has been infected by a virus') Has anyone else ever had this? I'm on the free version of the app, so I guess that might be why, but I don't want to delete it if it means it'll lose all my progress records! Does anyone know if this info is all stored on my user account, so deleting and reinstalling is safe? (Sorry for introducing myself with a boring techno-question!)

caggie09 · 10/07/2017 09:49

Oh i had something similar the other day actually, it was one of the pop competitions from apple saying id won an iphone! I knew if i clicked it i would end up with a virus!
It should be stored on your user account, so it shouldnt matter if you delete it. You'll just need to sign in againSmile
Well done on your 8lbs and hello!

OddMollie · 10/07/2017 13:04

Hello caggie and thanks for your reply! I eventually bit the bullet and clicked 'done' on the bottom of the message, which seemed the lesser of two evils compared with the 'install' button they were inviting me to click. Luckily the page disappeared and there was my homepage. Hopefully no harm done, but it does make me think I should maybe upgrade to the premium account to avoid further issues. (MFP has been such a huge benefit to me it seems only fair, tbh...)
Hope you got to the gym today and are feeling good about the new week. We're going away for a few days and I am fighting the temptation to take my scales. (That would be a bit weird, right? Grin)

newlark · 10/07/2017 13:47

Signing in to new thread. Am 41 days in to my MFP journey, 1 stone down another stone to go...

Not2bObvious · 10/07/2017 15:58

Checking in from abroad, was also tempted to take my scales but it would have put my case over the limit (and himself over the limit too!). Sorry for lack of shout outs, but hi to all, welcome to new folks (don't pay for premium mfp, it's fine, those hoax messages aren't related to it, if you have an iPhone or whatever figure how to see you web pages tiled and close the offending one or close down your phone fully and start up again)
Here since Friday, 2 decent runs done, tonnes of walking, lots of 🍷🍸🍺🍾🍽🍽🍽🍽🍽, but doing my best😉

caggie09 · 10/07/2017 19:09

I didnt get to the gym today. Blush Not sure why I bother paying monthly I'm hardly ever there! A very good start to the week though, had a very filling tea and drank plenty of water today. Even have a few 100 calories to get in a quick treat later. My positive vibe is back!!
I don't pay for MFP, I don't need the extra parts of it so no point.
Well done Not, I probably would not be as motivated and doing exercise abroad, so good for you! Enjoy your holiday and keep uo that good workHalo

Inthesleeplessnightgarden · 10/07/2017 21:52

Replying in order to find the thread again. Definitely on a plateau. Too many nights out. Too much booze and barbecue. Have readjusted my expectations and am aiming to maintain until end of the summer hols. At which point I will make a very concerted effort to lose the final half a stone before I need a new winter wardrobe. Aiming to keep to the usual 1300cals at least mon - fri but frankly too much like hard work to keep that up at the weekends too so just trying not to put back on the 2.5 stone I've lost since Jan.

caggie09 · 11/07/2017 21:44

Under calorie goal today, thought I would of struggled the past 2 days due to not being at work. But I feel ive done well! Drinking lots of water which I think Is also helping Smile

Not2bObvious · 13/07/2017 10:31

Vvv hard to keep on track while away. Maybe my definition of going easy is off the walls but I'm finding I'm 100's of calories over every day. I'm running and walking to the point of burning around 2400-2600 a day but food in is 3000+. So drawing a line under the madness while I have a few days left. Going to work on keeping to 2000 a day for the next 5 days which just means no wine at lunchtime and no more crisps! Maybe I can break even and come back only 2-3 up. Such a glutton I've been😩

OP posts:
caggie09 · 13/07/2017 21:12

Not a good day today, not long eaten a 500+ calorie cornish pasty! Ive been craving one for a while and gave in. Ive eaten well over my intake today! Ooops. Not great when WI is tomorrow.

caggie09 · 14/07/2017 15:46

Lost 1lb, bringing me to 11st 3! Smile Has everyone else gone? Come back guys!

sweetbitter · 14/07/2017 16:19

Well done on loss despite the cornish pasty!

I lost 1kg from yesterday morning's weigh-in to today's, woohoo! Have had a couple of weeks of good days now so maybe it's the culmination of that.

caggie09 · 16/07/2017 17:34

Well done you Sweet!
Ive had really bad weekend. Last night I ordered pizza, had a left overs with lunch today and basically scoffed sausage rolls, a scone and sweets all day. Got my tea in at the mo and trying to not eat anything else. Feel very guilty. Need to sort myself out and get back on track. I don't want to give and I want to be slim. Arghhhhh Cake Was so close to cancelling my gym membership because I don't go that often, but keeping it now!

WalkersNotLays · 16/07/2017 18:19

Hi all can I join?

I'm on a mission to lose a stone before the end of august.

Question for all of you: do you weigh your food before logging it on MFP? There seems to be a very strong split on this

caggie09 · 16/07/2017 19:16

Welcome!
I always weigh before logging, it seems a farce ar first but you get used to it and do it naturally! I feel its always more accurate and i control my portion sizes more!

Not2bObvious · 17/07/2017 07:21

Hola from the holidays, going home tomorrow and v much looking forward to a return to normal. I weighed in at a chemist twice and have a gain of around 5-7 pounds although that's not v accurate- a fair percentage will be bloat. Still feels rubbish though. I'm going to have to work hard to turn this around, don't want to take a gain into August.
You're welcome walkers, best of luck on your goal. A stone in 6.5 weeks would be excellent although it could be hard. You would need to lose 2lb'ish a week which would be cutting back by 7000-8000 calories a week. A lot depends on your current weight/height/activity levels. I lose on average, not every week, .5-.9lb a week. I run/walk at least 10,000 steps nearly everyday and I go to hiit/weights classes 3-4 times a week. My calories are set to 1650 but because of my activity levels, I eat closer to 1900 most days. Thats the best I can manage and it's good enough. I'm in this for the long haul as I've only around 1.5 stone left to lose and my body is fighting every ounce. Too many years of dieting.
Not too sure what you're asking about mfp, my advice is to set your menu, preload the details in mfp and attempt to stick to it. I weigh everything, my kitchen scales is the hardest working piece of equipment in my house.

Am so impressed by new thread AND weigh-in on holiday Not. More importantly though, I hope you have been having a nice time, & family all well and happy.

Caggie - you have been doing brilliantly. Keep it up! And welcome to the new folk.

I'm a long-time member of this thread, but shouldn't really be here on account of not much weight loss Blush. Put my back out last week, in total agony, couldn't move let alone exercise, and derailed in spectacular fashion. One day led to the other. But mental reset today. Made it to my PT (I prob shouldn't have, but had to to get back in the zone, IFKWIM). Will drink gallons of water today, & hope I can reset in time for hols in 10 days. I was doing so well too. Oh well.

Am back and accountable.

sweetbitter · 17/07/2017 10:28

Not2, can't believe you weighed in on holiday, that's dedication!

Good luck with all the water Bathsheba. These things happen, it's hard when you have an injury or illness to stay on track.

I had a weekend which I'd class as not ideal, though not a total disaster. Was right on the line for calories on Fri & Sat, even with eating back exercise calories which I don't generally like to do. Went totally over on Sunday, we had visitors and did a BBQ and lots of drinks, it was too difficult to hold back enough to not go over. But it could have been worse. Not weighing today, I'll give it a couple of days margin before getting back on the scales, I should be able to stay comfortably inside my calories Mon-Fri this week. As ever it's the weekends that are the challenge!

I had to weigh in, I was getting more and more anxious things were out of control and I could gauge where I was. It's really humid here and makes you feel so bloated. It's helped a bit, I left home at 11.6.8, I'm now 11.12.6 and that's with some clothes on, so I'm going to hazard a guess at 5lb on. Haven't drank near enough water and eaten salty food/drank sugary drinks a LOT so I should see the back of a couple of those pounds by Friday.
Poor bath! I'm assuming you must be much better to go to the PT, don't stress it, 10 days of good behaviour could knock
2-3lb off. No 🍷😉
