Another thread hoorah! This will be a fresh thread and a fresh start for me. How is everyone?

Helloooo!!!

Here is a link to the no-s page for any newcomers

nosdiet.com

Basically, there are just three rules and one exception:

No Snacks
No Sweets
No Seconds
Except (sometimes) on days that start with "S"

You're welcome. I somehow feel more accountable now I've set the new thread in motion. Will help keep me on the straight and narrow!

Thanks for clarifying Beela, my intro was a little vague Smile

Your intro was perfect! But newbies often ask the rules so I thought it would be handy to have them at the start Smile

Have a good day everyone.

Morning all.
It took me a while to realise I hadn't signed in here and that's why it wasn't popping up on my threads Grin

Good morning everyone. Hope everyone is well. Here goes for three meals on three plates.

I bought the Shades of Hope book. I am not interested in their meal plan as I like No S. They do, though, recommend no hard cheese if you are trying to restore your healthy body weight and keeping off it until you need to maintain that healthy weight. I thought that interesting as cheese probably should be an S food for me as I have a vulnerability towards eating too much of it.

Have a good day all.

Smile

Good morning everyone.
I've not been on for a few days as I've been pretty poorly, and when I've got home from work I have just been crashing on the sofa.

Anyway I started some yoga last night and this morning and beginning to feel better. I've been for a morning walk and had a lovely breakfast in a local café, now off to work.
Thanks for the new thread bowbear.
Have a great day everyone Smile

Oh yes! I didn't eat a chocolate biscuit, even though I wanted one. I thought of you lot telling me that my willpower was getting strongerHalo

Ah ha found you! Thread number 3, awesome!Smile
A good day for me, for some reason I was really hungry for dinner, but managed to hold on and have a large but healthy plate. Jacket potato, roast chicken, avocado and loads of salad.
Also managed to do my exercise video. I still ache but it is a little easier (I think!)

Hi, I started this 10 days ago and am finding it pretty easy to stick to so far. I'm concentrating on just having three plates a day and no snacks.

I've seen you guys advise to focus on that before weight loss bit for how long. When do I start to reduce food and actually focus on weight loss? What worked for you all?

PosiePootlePerkins · 06/07/2017 06:37

Hi mintcake great to hear that NoS is going well for youSmile You are definitely doing the right thing by focussing on getting the habits ingrained, that has to come first. For me the food reduction has been a very slow and natural process, I haven't really given it much thought to be honest! I still have days where I feel more hungry or just fancy more calorific food on my plate, but more and more now I will choose a healthier option and not need as much to fill me up. I think it just happens over time, but of course an awareness of what is on your plate is always a good thing. The beauty of NoS is that nothing is banned or limited, as long as it is on your three plates, so you're in charge! Good luck.

I've been at this 6 months and am still worried about the size of my plates.

I'm loading them so I can last 6-8 hours or whatever it ends up being but I'm still spending a few hours a day extremely uncomfortable with hunger.
So my advice would be to worry about the habits first. I can honestly say the habits are ingrained it's just I worry I eat far too much still.

What are people's weight losses on No S? Habits are good but I need to lose weight because my health is at risk at the weight I am.

twofloorsup · 06/07/2017 20:54

I've lost roughly a stone I think. Dodgy scales at last flat mean I'm not sure.

Gym today and my personal trainer weighed me half a stone lighter than my scales do so I'm not really sure Grin

I'm still in the same jeans as when I started but have definitely tightened my belt.

Sorry that's a lot of waffle and not much help Smile

Hi All
Hope everyone's had a good day.
That's great Two! I've lost around 2 stone. I've been on no S officially for about 3 months but had been doing a similar thing since around September last year. Some months I've lost nothing and then it gradually comes off again. Slow and steady but hopefully sustainable. It definitely feels like the more you follow the plan the more it ceases to be a diet and just becomes a way of life, but it does take time - old habits die hard!
I've brought forward my S day this week as I'm off to Wimbledon tomorrow with a very feasty picnic Smile

Thanks bowbear. The nicest thing is apart from feeling hunger (which I wasn't used to) it's not really been any effort.
I'm exercising too now and enjoying that which is also an improvement.
Enjoy Wimbledon Smile

Hello!

Would love to join in with this thread. Have known about No S for years but never really given it a good go. Hopefully posting here will help to keep me on the straight and narrow! Cannot seem to stick to WW/SW these days. They bore me so quickly and I just give up.

Anyone else struggle with "automatic" eating? E.g. kids come home and want a lollipop and before I know it I've scoffed one too before I even remember I'm supposed to be on a diet... Blush

twofloorsup · 07/07/2017 16:02

Hi Birgitte and welcome.
Yes automatic eating was probably the hardest thing to sort out.
I never ate consciously before I just shovelled in whatever wherever Grin
It gets easier though.

PosiePootlePerkins · 07/07/2017 18:39

Hi Birgitte and welcome to NoS. Good to to hear that you are familiar with the diet. Yes automatic eating was a very bad habit of mine. In the early days when I was adjusting to NoS it really shocked me to realise just how many times a day my hand tried to put food in to my mouth!! Good luck, we're all here for support.
Happy Friday everyone and have a good weekend xxx

Hi Birgitte Smile

No-s has really helped me break the 'eating all the time for no reason' habit. Like posie, I was quite shocked when I realised how much I ate without even thinking about it.

Oh my gosh I've found my people!

I've done a similar diet before (didn't know it had a name!) cutting out sugar. Didn't really snack so wasn't a issue for me. Wasn't much of a eater so seconds wasn't a issue either. But since having kids and moving it has been terrible.

Put on too much weight and decided that's it. But I'm breastfeeding and weight loss does not work with me when breastfeeding although I'm aiming for a healthier lifestyle band weightless will come in time. Inches loss is fine but can't be bothered to measure.

I'm on my second day and today I've been hungry but just been too lazy to get up and have food since I did 30 day shred. So it's okay lol.

I actually made a FB group earlier for people who like or want to track it on paper (when you write weight down and what you should be it's a bigger shock). If anyone wants to join message me. But I'm here too.

I won't have s on s days. I'm waiting till 2 months when there is a event and I'll have a treat. Otherwise I'll just eat and eat and eat.

Hi babba and welcome.
I also don't really do anything different on S days unless circumstances require it.
I've gone off sweet food , rarely want seconds as my meals are huge and don't like to snack as I'm enjoying feeling hunger even if it is a bit alien to me after years of binge eating Smile
