Right - off on hols in 8 weeks. Am currently the size of a manatee. I'd ideally like to shift 1.5 - 2 stone. Ambitious, yes, but needs must. Anyone have any tips for fast weight loss to kick start things or anyone fancy joining in. I think I'm going to cut carbs initially and try and do a bit of exercise. Bread, pasta and cheese are my downfall and all the wine!

I have no tips but I will join you if you don't mind as I need to lose about 3 stones.
I would love to lose 1.5 stones in the next 10 weeks so following for tips!

Mum157 · 22/05/2017 15:51

Can I join too?
Holiday in 9 weeks, and would also love to lose 1.5 stone in that time. I'm CRAP at sticking to 'diets', so maybe having some moral support will help.
Think I'm going to do MFP and lots of exercise....

PlaiceMarking · 22/05/2017 16:27

Can I join too? I'm actually one week into my diet and I'm sticking too it but some support would be great! I know I'm going to need help with motivation.
I'm doing a mix of slim fast and trying to eat very healthily/semi low carb in the evenings. I'm going to try and go all out low carb after summer but I've got such an emotional dependence on food and I think about it aaaallllll the time I'm hoping only having to think of one meal a day will stop the cycle.
I'm hoping to loose 2 stone in the next 8 weeks about and then another 1 - 1.5 on low carb the next 3 months with a view to adjust my lifetime dependency on sugar.
Sorry for the essay Blush

Can I ask how you all plan on losing so much in such a short space of time?
Not trying to be sarky or rude-I would love to lose that much in that space of time. I'm currently trying to lose 1 stone before my hols on 30th June. I've lost 9lbs in 3 weeks and thought this was pretty good. I'm doing exercise and MFP.
Would love some tips to 'speed things up'? I thought you were doing well if you lost 2lbs a week, which would be just over a stone in 8 weeks?

Waddlingthrough · 22/05/2017 16:47

Sharon it's only wishful thinking on my part, don't think I necessarily will! Grin

HopefullyDothButterNoParsnips · 22/05/2017 17:02

I've lost ten pounds in a month before with diet and exercise so I think it is doable but tough. It's more a target than anything, kind of aim high and anything less is a bonus. If you look at it that 2lbs a week is a safe level to lose at (that'd be 16 pounds) and 1.5 st is only 5 pounds more than that so I reckon it's doable. Just need to actually move my arse!

Just made dinner which was very low cal - courgetti, quorn mince, mushroom and a tin of chopped tomatoes and that made four portions. Not the most delicious meal but need to start somewhere.

Low carb and HIIT - at least 4 sessions a week. I've dropped a dress size in a month

Mum157 · 23/05/2017 08:13

Started well this morning - 3 mile run and weighed and measured myself.

Good luck today, ladies. xx

HopefullyDothButterNoParsnips · 23/05/2017 08:47

Excellent work. I am two pounds down from yesterday. Appreciate it will be water weight but every little helps. I've had three cups of tea so far today and a lemsip as I'm feeling grim (head cold). I have leftover courgetti bolognese for lunch.

Checking in!! I have 6 1/2 weeks to lose around 1 stone. Started last week doing C25K which I have successfully started - but not finished - 3 times now. Also a bit of boxing, squats and pull downs on weight thing. I was so upset by not losing a thing all of last week, but have just started my period so that might be why??

I'm doing well with meals, trying to stick to 300cal for lunch and no carb dinners - struggling with what to have for breakfast, any ideas? I've also just ordered a Dukan diet book so am all over the place with my strategic planning. My problem is a nightly glass of wine which turns to two, any ideas how to stop that too?Blush

sheeeshh · 23/05/2017 14:09

I've lost 25lbs in eight weeks on slimming world. I'm five foot six, starting weight was 14st 2.5lbs.

I've adapted it slightly as there are elements of the 'plan' that I don't agree with. I don't eat Mullerlights or mugshots or any other nutritionally devoid crap that they push, and I haven't eaten bread / rice / pasta / potatoes. So basically I've focused on tons of fruit, veg, lean protein and WATER. I still have sugar in my tea (it makes me happy Grin). I've got another 2 stone to lose.

It's totally do-able, go for it!

HopefullyDothButterNoParsnips · 23/05/2017 22:56

Good to hear some success stories. I had a relatively healthy dinner of quorn burgers on half a whole meal bun each (so one bun/ two burgers). Tasty and quick. I know carbs are the devil but I needed something filling. What did you all have?

Another good day yesterday - stayed within calorie count and did Jillian Michaels Ripped in 30 - ouch!

The weekend might be tricky (at friends' for dinner Fri night, daughter's 6th birthday Sat, out for dinner Sat night, daughter's birthday party Sun morning) so got to be REALLY good today and tomorrow day-time!

artycakemaker · 25/05/2017 11:16

I would love to join if I may.

Ineed to lose2 and a half stone and am aiming for 1.5stones in 6 weeks.

My plan is to eat what I want, but half portions. I do not calorie count. Plus I will have only calorie-free water.

Today:

Lunch - 1/2 bowl of homemade tomato and basil soup,1 thin slice of sour dough baguette

Dinner- we are out at an Italian tonight so either an entree size version of pasta with a side salad or maybe baked fish and salad.

I usually manage a 45 minute walk daily, but only got 20 mins in today.

I am 12 stone 8, and will weight myself every 2 days in the hope to keep myself motivated.

HopefullyDothButterNoParsnips · 25/05/2017 14:06

I am going to find this challenging tonight as it's my work year end drinks and the booze will be flowing. I really need to make sensible decisions and ramp up the exercise!

OP posts:
artycakemaker · 25/05/2017 14:11

Start with a pint of fizzy water with lemon in it! I find if you are well-hydrated then it is easier to stay fairly sensible. If you start with wine, you tend to keep going with the wine!

sexymuthafunker · 25/05/2017 17:36

Can I join please?
Have 3 stone to loose 😥
Am holidaying with very skinny friends in 12 weeks time.... Confused
Am planning to:
Exercise every day.
Eat almost no carbs.
Not drink during the week (and only a little at weekends)

Would be happy to loose 1 stone to be honest - have only ever lost any weight when breastfeeding or travelling round the world (and getting a dodgy tummy / sweating buckets all day)

Any hints and tips re: how to achieve this works be massively appreciated!

Flowers

artycakemaker · 26/05/2017 07:54

TBH the 12 and a half stone I need to lose probably is a bit more on the 3 stone side, sexymutha.

I get so depressed about it. Also, I have a pretty strong suspicion that DH has a bit of a crush on DC2's teacher- very very slim, blonde and extremely lovely and sweet. I am not worried, and I know 'crushes' are a normal part of life, but I feel a bit sad and low.

My overall plan: half portions, waters and herbal teas only and 45 minutes walking.

B- 1/2 slice toast with 1 boiled egg. 1 tiny clementine and 1 slice cucumber

L- 1 small bowl tomato soup, 1 slice ham and 1/2 slice toast

D- Takeaway friday and we have chinese planned- I plan on putting my serve on a bread and butter plate, not a normal plate.

I will probably have some fruit and yoghurt snacks in there too.

Hopefully how was your party?

OwlinaTree · 26/05/2017 08:20

Wow arty, that's a harsh regime! Are you planning on those size portions all the time or is it just today because you are having takeaway?

artycakemaker · 26/05/2017 08:23

I thought I'd see how I go. I have lost the ability to judge what is normal really. Does it seem extreme? I am a bit of a grazer so I think there would be snacks in there I have not accounted for yet.

OwlinaTree · 26/05/2017 09:00

It would be tiny for me! I have a 3 egg omelette with mushroom and tomato, tiny bit of cheese for breakfast if I'm having eggs! No toast though. I'm not much of a snacker though, I'll have fruit or a bit of chicken etc if I'm really hungry during the day. I have larger meals.

My average loss is about 1lb a week though, probably more like 1.5lb if you discount the weeks I've been not on plan.

HopefullyDothButterNoParsnips · 27/05/2017 14:32

I've had a rubbish weekend on the food front. Tonnes of wine and a McDonald's 😩😩 I'm going to be fat forever

Good luck all. I think that amount of weight in that amount of time is doable if you're quite heavy (in the obese category) if you're much smaller than that then I think banking on 1-2 pounds a week is much more achievable.

I also think you shouldn't be so negative about your bodies, don't compare yourself I'm sure you're all look fab on your holidays regardless of weight loss, if you try to accept your body as it is I think it's easier to then lose a bit of weight as you're not constantly beating yourself up with every little thing you eat.

Find something active you love doing and that'll help as well!! Good luck!

twobambinos · 27/05/2017 17:32

Can I join? 6weeks to set off and my clothes won't fit. A stone would do nicely. Going to workout 5times a week and hope to eat around 1200kcal

HopefullyDothButterNoParsnips · 27/05/2017 21:36

Great. The more the merrier. Right let's try and think of some healthy meal options. What do you all do for breakfast/ lunch. I always fall down with eating out at lunch during the work week.
