Anyone doing/ done the lose a stone in a week diet?

I'm just starting Day 6 (though have moved day 1 to the end so it's day 7 of the plan- don't have access to anywhere to cook tomorrow in work so had to switch days so I'm home to cook the day 7 menu iyswim). Does weight loss stop/ decrease towards the end? I've been weighing myself each morning, and there's no change from yesterday (well, 0.2 lb heavier, but not much change). Bit disappointed as thought I was on target. Does anyone with any experience know if it'll kick back in? It's pretty hard going and if the last 3 days aren't going to help I wonder if it's worth carrying on.
I'm 5'6", starting weight 10 stone 9, down to 10 stone 1 after 4 days. I'm hoping to use the diet to kick start weight loss again (lost 7lb in the previous month and will continue healthy eating plan once my week is up)

Surely loosing so quickly can't be healthy? What's your motivation for wanting to loose weight so fast. In my experience anything I've lost following an intense diet has been quickly regained and then some.

What's your calorie intake?

Doubt you can sustain a stone loss in a week. Your body probably will fight that happening

Are you exercising as well?

I just need to shift the last bit of weight. No need for it to be quick, though it'd be nice to be slimmer for my holidays. I'm treating it more as a jump start- SlimmingWorld, weight watchers and calorie counting all seem to stall when I hit around 10 and a half stone. Google suggested this might work, and is sustainable as long as you don't binge on takeaway and booze for weeks/ moths afterwards- which would put weight on no matter how it'd been lost! I figured it's only a week, what've I got to lose? So... I'm giving it a try. Pretty happy with half a stone in 4 days, and visible fat loss, but just wondered if it'd continue for the next 2 days or if it's stalled like other plans

I managed this without trying a couple of winters ago ...... norovirus. That wasn't healthy either.

I can't imagine this being good for you OP.

I lost 10lbs in a week after coming off meds. I felt bloody awful and couldn't eat. Are you not feeling poorly? My legs where aching at night, I felt weak and faint, and those where just the physical symptoms, wasn't much fun.

lose a stone in a week?

I have lost 6lb in a week after a robbery but it's not something I'd recommend. With quite severe noro I only lost 4lb in a week.

how on earth....?!

PS to be clear, it wasn't the stress of conducting a robbery myself that caused the loss - it was the crime being committed against me, not by me Grin

Don't know calorie intake, just following the plan. I'd guess 500-1000 depending on the day.
Have decreased my exercise as not sustainable, just walking and a couple of 15minute cardio workouts.

I lost 8kg (1.25 stones) in the first week of the Blood Sugar Diet. I had several stones to lose though. (And I lost nothing weeks 3-6. After 12 weeks I'd lost 2.5 stone and had no issues with skin. Now on round 2 after a 4 week maintenance break and have lost another half stone. Again no issues with skin. I'm nearly 40.)

Once you lose a lot of weight you need to fast to reset the weight your body thinks it should be. Lots of research on this.

No, not feeling poorly. Or hungry, surprisingly enough!

I did a shake diet of 600cals a day and lost about 10lbs in a week, down to around 8stone. Didn't do me any harm, i was a little grumpy at the start of the week. Put a few lbs back on but that is too be expected as your system is completely empty when on the diet but kept the rest off.

You certainly don't get saggy skin from loosing only a stone Confused

Not over 40 yet! And the weight is on my tummy and thighs- not areas prone to wrinkles!

Was just looking for others experience on this plan. As I'm on day 6 of a seven day plan it would be a bit late to seek opinions on whether or not to try it!

Surely that's water weight you have lost?

OP what's the diet called?

I won't pretend to be an expert but it doesn't sound like you are overweight...admittedly I am a short arse so I get confused about what taller people weigh.

14lbs in a week is way too much. After the 7 days you are supposed to eat again? Good luck keeping it off then. Like a PP said, it's probably water weight.

Why not drop that weight in a more normal, sustainable way? As in: eat at a slight deficit, exercise and don't eat your exercise calories. It may take longer, but you are also less likely to pile it back on afterwards.

I'm actually quite shocked to learn that losing a stone in a week is a thing.

I'm guessing it's a "fit into something for that one day" diet?

Report
Howmanysleepstilchristmas · 21/05/2017 11:24

No, I'm not overweight, my BMI is the top end of healthy. It'll still be in the healthy range in 7lbs time (or even 14).
The diet is one given to people to lose weight pre surgery, though that isn't why I'm doing it. I don't know if it has a name, but its easily searchable.
I doubt it's water weight, as I see no reason I'd lose that- I haven't cut out or reduced caffeine or salt so no indication for a reduction in water retention.

Yes, I've lost weight by eating less calories/ exercising more. But that weight loss stalled so I'm hoping to kickstart it.
