I am about 2 stone heavier than I would like to be but I can't seem to get in the right frame of mind to 'diet'.

I really need to find some motivation as I go away beginning of August and do not want to be a beach whale! Argh!

I am ok through the day at work, it's when I am home the gremlins set in and i just pick.

I have though been out for a few runs when the weather has been nice so that's something at least!

Anyone in the same boat as me want to be my motivational diet buddy?

Yes please! I have a series of weddings, christenings, family parties to go to, plus the dreaded beach holiday. I should have motivation but I just eat instead... it would be great to have someone to talk to who's in the same boat. Now i just have to buy some batteries for the scale... i have been too scared to sort it out!

My motivation should be to be a good example for the kids, bit really, I'm just vain and want to look reasonable on a bikini!

Me please, I need to lose at least 2 stone, 3 in an ideal world. I put on so much weight when I was pregnant, especially when I broke my ankle, but now DS is nearly 8 weeks and my ankle is getting better there's no excuse.

I have about 1 stone to lose. I need motivation, but need to do it in a healthy way. I always start of motivated then eat junk and everyday for the past year (i kid you not!) i have been saying "tomorrow" :(

I lost almost 4 stone via Weight Watchers and felt so great, yet over the last two years 2st has crept back. I cannot understand how I let this happen! I mean I know exactly HOW to lose, I want to lose and I do nothing.
Would love some motivation. Holiday in July and like PP and hash, want to feel good and have the energy to have fun.

So what's your plan OP? I'm thinking of hitting weight watchers for 6 weeks or so, to get back into the swing of proper portion control, food tracking and weekly weigh ins, then cancelling and carrying on at home. WW here is on a Tuesday when DD is at nursery, so that suits, but it clashes with buggy fit - my ankle isn't up to buggy fit yet but should be in another 6 - 8 weeks.

I'm going back to lowcarbing ... 3 weeks to get into it, then adding in exercise. I work from home a lot, and am a terrible snacker ... any ideas how to stop?

shutthedamndoor · 26/04/2017 16:18

Ouch, have you done online WW? I live abroad and don't fancy trying it in another language.

Report
OuchBollocks · 26/04/2017 16:25

I've never done it online, I did consider it, and I might drop down to online only after a while when I'm able to start up buggy fit.

shut, coffee and tea helps. or allow yourself a couple snacks and sit down and enjoy them not just constant snacking, good luck :)

Thanks Woody, I fear I am unable to have just one or two.. unless we're talking packets Shock I think I will make a giant jug of flavoured water tomorrow and see if that helps. I blame my husband, before I met him I just didn't have snacks in the house!

Yea yes yes...lets do this. I'm thinking low carbing too or weight watchers but I don't really want to go to their class. I am dreading getting on the scales :( xx

I started so well again today. I had that weetabix protein for brekkie. An apple mid morning. Then I had soup and a slice of wholemeal bread (no butter). THEN I don't know what happened but half a pack if custard creams ended up in my belly. And spiralled from there really.

Thinking Monday coming is the day I take back control of my mouth! X

Can I join too, please?

Managed to lose half a stone since January but have since lost my mojo. Can't stick to a diet, can't stop snacking - and need to lose two stone for August holidays.

I'm going to try calorie counting I think, asap!

hashtag I don't low carb but I did lose weight, pre DS, by having smaller portions of carb at a meal and making sure meals had protein and fat for satiety. So maybe have the butter in your bread and a soup with some protein? Then there's less risk of a mid afternoon sugar crash. Maybe.

DS had me up from 3 until 5.30 then DD had me up for the day at 6.30, so my aim for the day is just to avoid mountains of crap through tiredness.

I did a very low carb diet plan where the only carbs I had a day were two fat free yoghurts a few years back and lost loads of weight but put it back on so quickly.

I think you need 'good' carbs though so I am just gonna try and be more balanced.

I have done the juice plus diet but got very bored of shakes very quickly but again it does work.

Oh no poor you! Plenty of coffee then :)

When are we starting? :)

Morning! You have inspired me to start right this bloody minute! I felt ridiculously blobby when I got up. So, chilli for me for lunch, then need to go shopping so will stock up on meat/eggs/veggies. Am going to hide the chocolate and cookies.
Anyone else in?

Aw go shutthedamndoor. I will be good today but I can't guarantee a 'good' weekend so I will promise to start properly on Monday and its the 1st May so perfect!

I have soup again for my lunch today. I do love soup though.

I really really don't want to get on the scales though :(

Do it hashtag, knowing the number doesn't change the number, and if you don't know your starting point you won't know how amazingly well you've done when you're all svelte in the autumn :)

I'm 5'8" and 14st 1 Shock just microscopically slightly under obese.

Me please. I'm a stone heavier than this time last year and look awful. Struggling to find any self control. Not sure how to do it but need to start.

Try skipping breakfast or having a protein only breakfast.
For some people, breakfast kicks off appetite and makes you want to snack all day. It's the only thing that's been working for me.
There was a thread in chat a few days ago about how this has been working for many people.

Sorry about the sleep hash - my DS (now nearly seven), didn't sleep though until he was 5. And he still wakes at 5am. Sleep deprivation is a killer for triggering sugar cravings.

I like the idea of starting of May 1st properly, but will try and take control up until then (rather than think fuck it and eat everything in the house).

I'm 5ft 8 and 14.13, so if I could get in the low 12's by the school hols, I'd be thrilled.

Planning on just cutting out the crap and the snacking. Moving a bit more wouldn't hurt either. I have cut down hugely on drinking since January, but no huge changes to weight, annoyingly.

No had breakfast today as in work v early, but have jacket potato and tuna salad for lunch. Dinner will be omelette and veggies.

I will do an official weigh in on Monday.

Good luck everyone. :)

OuchBollocks I am also 5'8" and around 14 stones I recon. I really want to get to 12. 11 in a perfect world but I do like having a few curves. I am really happy at 12 stone though. I feel your pain. Not easy is it :(

Why do they put so many calories in the good stuff?! Arrggghhhh

Ok. I will pop on tomorrow and let you know the exact damage. (So scared)
