Tummy tuck surgery how old were your children

Hi,
I just had my 3rd. My muscles are further crushed and I now have an obvious hernia, rather large. I am thinking to have tummy tuck in the near future to repair all in one go but need to plan ahead financially and practically as our families are abroad we just have friends to help.

If you had one how old were your children? Was it hard / easy?

I welcome no criticism, thank you, just advise please :-)

Watching with interest. I have been left with a very ugly tummy. I was a size 6 before, completely flat stomach. I worry about the risks of surgery and who would look after DD. I think the recovery time is quite long. If I could arrange care for her I'd have it tomorrow.

4 and 18 months, my DH had first week off, then had a nanny for 2 weeks for the baby, then had my mum for a week, then it was half term so just had a v quiet time. Friends mostly took my DD to nursery and for play dates. You need 5 weeks recuperation. It's been a life changer for me though.

I am desperate. I'm still the same dress size but baggy.

About 1 and 4. Get your tubes tied or dh a vasectomy first!

Hi thank you,
Fatoldbag good point, dh said he will get his done. We will discuss this with gp at 6 week check and get on waiting list.
Did you have much help with 1 and 4 year old? I think do it when baby is 18 months old, that way we can finish bf at 1 year old and 6 months to get hormones out the body. We will have 5 year old and almost 7.5 year old. Not sure if it would be better on school holiday or during term.

I think dh took a few days off. I could only do minimalist parenting for a couple of weeks, no picking up, driving, etc, but we managed.

Mine were 2 & 5.

I only have vague memory of it but I'm pretty sure I was completely out of action for about a week then it was pretty much the same recovery as post caesarean.
I was off work for 6 weeks, but my job at the time was mostly outdoors & v physical (lots of heavy lifting etc).

It was worth every penny, and all the pain!

7 and 5- wish I had done it much sooner. I was totally out of action for a month. I had some complications and was in a lot of discomfort, but even still it was absolutely worth it!

I am now planning this for october or december 2018.
I am trying to remember but can 18 months old get out the car on their own and can they sleep with rail down by that time?
I am thinking may be have this done before december school holiday. Dh takes 2 weeks off. School holiday starts, may be we can get moms to stay for 2 week or so....

My DS is 16 months and there is no way he could get in and out of car on his own, and still sleeps in cot too
