LF weight loss buddies.. need some motivation(43 Posts)
Hi, I'm 5'3 , 37, small at the top and big bottom half...And I weigh 64.3kg.. About 10 stone... Had a MC in December and I had put on 5 kg already ....I just can't seem to lose it...I'm good for a few days then cave saying 'oh one ice cream won't hurt as I've had a good few days'..
I know I'm only cheating myself but arrrgh I can't seem to find that kick up the **m! I'm trying the 8 hr diet and I may mix it with the no S diet... Feeling desperate. I don't want to meet with people because I feel so crap.... I have a big family do in august which I'm dreading and I'm not looking forward to the sunny weather and family holiday in the summer. Feel so disgusting, I don't fit into my clothes, had to buy next size up in trousers. Would really like a friend to share this journey, help each other stay motivated or something? 😐 I'm looking to lose 6kg... About a stone. Doesn't sound a lot but I've never lost more than 2lbs in one week, my body just finds it hard to shift. 😥
I'll be your buddy! Back in 2015 I had 2 mc and put on quite a bit of weight. I managed to lose some and then had a successful pregnancy (my first and only) and obviously put on weight. I'm 5.9" and after I had lo I weighed just over 15 stone (the heaviest I've ever been). I've since lost 2.5 stone, I actually lost over 3 stone but I put on half a stone over xmas. I'm looking to lose 16lbs to get back into all my clothes for the same reasons you have given. I'm doing slimming world combined with the 5.2 diet. My wedding anniversary is in 3 weeks and I want to have lost 5lbs for then. I find having little goals within my bigger goal helps, so that's my first little goal.
I'm so dedicated I'm even giving up alcohol until I've lost the weight. If you knew how much I love prosecco, you'd know what a big deal that is for me!
Yay thank you for replying 😁 I think mentally having had a MC, has made looking after myself harder ...DH doesn't want any more Dc now so I feel almost like I can't be bothered to diet but know I have to or it will downward spiral. Just had a massive BBQ in there nice weather, with coleslaw and potato salad... Now feel like a beached whale, shop I'm here prepping for a big change... Especially as it's Easter holidays now for the kids do I can really kick start this.
I'm tempted by 5:2 but when I calculated my calories... I can only have 425 calories for the 2 days and only 1400 for the remaining days.... Which to me is basically restricting calories for 7 days. 🙁 Not I can do that. What type of things do you normally eat?
Will done on your weighty loss so far! That's brilliant 😁👍 I was 14st after my 2nd... Managed to get back to 9 Stone with 30 day shred and slimming world but put 1 stone on.... The effort was incredible and I can't sustain it... Need something that is manage as bleeding long term.
I work three days a week and I find those days the easiest to do the fast days because I'm distracted at work and I don't have to be around food. When I'm off with lo I obviously have to feed him so it just feels like torture to not eat anything! On my fast days I save most of my calories for an early dinner and just have fizzy water and maybe two apples in the day. It's a slog but because you know the next day isn't a fast day it's easier to stick with.
I was just within my healthy bmi before xmas and feeing quite good but I totally took my eye off the ball and just ate and drank loads and that sort of spilled over into January etc... I avoided the scales for a while and was quite gutted to see i's put on 8lbs, specially since it had been tough to lose them! Still, just got to get back to it now, it's done!
The amount o weight we want to lose isn't huge so I'm pretty sure if we really stick to it then we can get back in our summer clothes before the height of summer hits! Once I'm there I'm usually quite good at maintaining because I eat strict in the week and then relax at weekends and it seems to stop the weight coming back on.
I'm the same, I'm good at sticking in the week then relax at weekends. I'm going to try a combination of no S diet with 8 hr one... I'm ok without breakfast and then will have lunch, no snacks or seconds then dinner no snacks or seconds and will make sure not to eat after 9... Fingers crossed a bit will come off 😁
Exercise wise I'm trying the 0-5 K thing I'm on week 4 but have only run once this week... Will aim for 3 times a week. Weekend off 😁
Will you be having a weigh in day? I only started last week but I think I'm going to make Friday my weigh in day. Lee me motivated for the weekend!
I'm tempted by Friday but every time I've done Friday, if I get a loss I get excited then overeat at the weekend 🙁 I may do monday instead...Might keep me from going crazy on the weekend. I've bought b there Paul McKenna I can make you think book and CD on eBay, when it arrives will play that at night too... 3 prong attack. Sitting here, staring at my treadmill 😐 yesterday was ok... No breakfast or snacks. Sandwich and salad for lunch, then roast chicken and salad for dinner with a small jacket.... Treat had a mini magnum type ice cream. 😁 Trying to think how to keep busy with the kids today.
Yeah that's a good point. Friday seems good as it's my day at home but I'm at home Tuesdays too so could change to then.
Well done on your day yesterdY. I've done my 500 days today so just some raspberries, an apple and a slice of toast and beans for me! I'm not too hungry now as I save the beans on toast for when I got home from work. Had to feed lo his dinner and he didn't want to eat anything! It was like torture to throw away his scrambled eggs lol! Don't even usually like scrambled eggs but when you're hungry, everything looks good lol!
I've also made a visual board. It's a cork board with 17 pins in it and a line down the middle. Each pin represents a pound and when I lose one I will move it to the other side of the line. Hoping it will spur me on!
Woops well done for yesterday 😁 how's today going...? I've been out with the kids to a park, had a picnic at lunch... Tried to eat lots of veggies but had a homemade sandwich and skips. Then spag bol for dins, no breakfast as norm... Not too bad. Not had a chance to exercise but have walked around a lot...
You're doing well by the sounds of it. I did ok, stuck to slimming world yesterday slice of toast for breakfast, beans for lunch and salmon and veg for dinner. I had fruit for snacks and also a mini custard pot (needed something sweet!). I'm on a 500 day again today. Not looking forward to it but I'm at work today and anticipate I'll be be busy so hoping that it goes quickly!
Thanks you're doing well, o didn't do well yesterday evening. there were some jelly sweets left on the side... They're not there now...Booo plus had my daughter's half of teacake left from breakfast... ( She was on her second and had enough ) I'm starving this morning so filling up with coffee... Can you fill up on hot drinks with the 5:2? Missing my exercise, with kiddies home finding it hard to squeeze in.
Yeah I've had 2 coffees today to fill me up. I like it with milk though so that counts towards my 500. I did the same as Monday, raspberries in the day and a slice of toast with beans for dinner. I also had a few slices of melon. According to my Apple Watch I burnt 550 calories walking today so in theory I've burnt everything I've eaten - hope it shows on the scales!
So hard to not eat lo's food! Feel your pain! I'm trying to chuck things quickly before they find their way into my mouth!

Just weighed myself and I've lost 2.5 lbs since Friday! Am very pleased because the first week on only lost 1lb and felt a bit deflated. I think doing the two 500 days has helped this week, didn't do them the first week as I was easing myself in!
Well done!! I'm weighing in tomorrow... Haven't been super strict this week so I'm not expecting much but feel like my tummy is flatter so fingers crossed. Went to the cinema twice this week and resisted any snacks whilst there - that's a major achievement lol but I did have a coffee which is ok. Haven't done my normal exercise either grrr I put on my new Paul McKenna CD before bed last night... Hoping after as few weeks that'll sink in too 😁 it was really relaxing.
Only lost 1 pound 🙁 gutted and to be honest it fluctuates that amount on my scales within hours... Not sure my scales are very trustworthy. Battery is always dying and depending where I place it it goes up and down...Oh well onto another week. Will need to be more strict with my sweet treats. Think no sweet treats until the weekend.
Try not to be disappointed a pound is still good! The weekend will be tough but not drinking will help (me that is!) and lo is too young for Easter eggs so no temptation in the house. Well, apart from the chocolate bunny in my kitchen which I've got for my friend. My dh keeps threatening to eat it and I know if it gets opened I'll have some so I'm trying to protect the bunny at all costs lol!

Hi, I'm in a very similar place to you atm, 5'1 and 10st! I was 10st4 on Monday though! I've felt like I could eat my own arm for most of the week. Going away in 7 weeks though and can't fit in any of my summer clothes, so having to be really strict!
