Why do you want to lose weight

I've got this summer dress I feel amazing in, I love to shop but feel limited by what I can wear. At the minute I'm sticking to vest tops, cardies and leggings -really boring safe mumsy clothes. I just can't wait to fit back into my skinny jeans and have a spring in my step and my cheek bones to become more prominent, basically sheer vanity. What's everyone else's motivation?

Same. I want a shopping spree but will treat myself once I am down to a size 8-10 (currently a 12...) Been doing ww and 30day shred. I'm on day 11

Get rid of my belly and lower my cholesterol. I am watching what I eat, but it's not working.

I would like to say it's for health reasons but if I am honest it's vanity I love clothes

Vanity.

I'm 37 in a couple of months. I'm fine with that. I'm 100% naturally grey. Fine with that too (love it in fact).

But I'm not willing to be 37, grey and fat. So have lost 10lbs in the last few weeks and have another 10 to lose to reach my goal.

It is/will be great to be fitter and healthier but pure unadulterated vanity is my motivating factor.

Postagestamppat what have you tried? I'm a lover of heavy weights and macro/calorie tracking

I have some size 6/8 dresses I am keen to get into again. I'm a size 10.

I also work out tons and have some serious muscles and would like them to be more visible, esp. in the arms.

Vanity, too, then.

30 day shred is on YouTube. 20 minute workout every day. (I haven't missed a day) along with ww, I have now lost 7lbs in 3 weeks. Today I bought a pair of size10 jeans that I squeezed into. So pleased. It is doable!
Also in not going to ww, just paying myself the fee and writing down what in eating etc Grin

I think vanity is a motivating reason enough!!

Not actively losing, at the moment as life is too hectic to have it at the front of my mind, but my motivation for losing the stone and a half I have lost was getting out of breath on an uphill walk I'd done without problem about 3500 times, over the years, on the school run.

Unless it's hot or icy or I'm unwell, I'm back to springing up that hill without a second thought.

I wish it was vanity. My dad suffered some health problems last year, you know the 'do you have anyone in the family with a history of?' Type things. For that reason I am now high risk for several nasties and I have 4 children to consider.

I need to fit back in to my work clothes and refuse to buy a whole new wardrobe for the sake of being 14 instead of 12. Come on wobbly hips, fuck off!

Mostly vanity I suppose. On top of that I want to feel comfortable in hot weather. I only have a stone to lose really but it's the difference between feeling overly hot and sweaty in summer or feeling comfortable!
I also want to be fitter!

I'm pretty happy really, I'm not very big, husband thinks I'm great, lovely job, baby, family and friends so losing weight won't make me happier except for one thing. I want to teach my daughter to be healthy and set the example of good health habits, including maintaining a stable and appropriate weight, eating a variety of fresh, wholesome foods and taking daily exercise.

I feel I can't be a responsible parent (in my version of what that looks like) if I don't lead by example in this.

From having low blood pressure I now have high blood pressure (everyone on my father's side of the family did too). Losing weight will help, as does cutting most of the caffeine, alcohol, fat, and salt out of my diet.

Cutting down on salt has meant cutting out most of the bread, butter, crisps, salted nuts, cake, biscuits, cheese, too so it is helping. Around 10 lbs lost in 17 days - easy because I was about 30 lbs overweight, it'll get harder once I get to a healthier weight. I have noticed my children are paying attention too because as teens they already understand hereditary health problems. Also, as we live in the US, having a pre-existing health condition can mean the difference between being able to get or not get health insurance once Trump gets rid of Obamacare. My recent doctor visit would have cost me $400 without insurance - for a ten minute conversation with the doctor. It was $25 with insurance. I need to get rid of this so if we have to change insurance policies health care remains affordable.
