Identifying your weight loss downfall?

I've been thinking about this as like so many of my friends, we put the same weight on and lose it again repeatedly. There seem to be so many factors. I blame tiredness most, other times a sweet tooth, also self pity is a great route to a Kit Kat for me.

What are yours? And has anyone really overcome theirs?
