Hypnosis does it help? Does it work?

I'm around 3 stone overweight which I'm desperate to shift. I've done WW and SW both successfully in the past but I find that I get so far then have a major lapse and that's it I'm on the slippery slope and back to square oneSad
My meals aren't bad we eat fairly healthily anyway, no my problem is chocolate, cakes and sweets, I just get overwhelming thoughts of these that I end up giving into, and again and again! So I've been thinking of going to a hypnotherapist and seeing if I can be permanently put off ever considering eating any of these things again. I honestly can't see that l'd regret this - who really needs all that rubbish in their diet?
So my question is has anyone else done this? How do they do it.? And most importantly did it work? And did it eventually wear off?
I really don't care how much this will cost because as far as I'm concerned it would money well spent.

My husband had the hypnoband fitted in march 2016 and he has lost nearly 5 stone and 10 inches from his waist line. He swears by it

I am a hypnotherapist and get some good results with weight loss. It can be good for uncovering reasons for overeating, stress and comfort eating, and for motivation. But it is not a magic bullet, the client has to want to change and be prepared to put some effort in. Also be prepared for it to take a few sessions, not just one. You might also google a therapy called BWRT which works brilliantly for clients where being overweight has become part of their personal identity. All BWRT therapists are qualified hypnotherapists or psychotherapists and have undergone extra training.

I started doing a virtual gastric band app which involves hypnosis. I started on January the 8th and have lost 17lbs. It has worked really well for me. It is about £5 I think (I brought it ages ago but have only just started using it) and it has a free trial so might be worth a try for you. It is called Easy Loss Virtual Gastric Band.

You could read Paul McKenna's new book on quitting sugar. He's basically trying to hypnotise you in the book to stop eating sugar
