I need to shift some weight!!
I gave birth to my daughter just over seven months ago and I lost the baby weight! (Woo!!) but to be fair it wasn't too much.
Basically, I've gained 9/10lbs recently and finding it hard to get back into the "Zone" and stay focused.
I weighed myself yesterday and I'm 11.9lbs (then ate Pizza Hut and brownies so i probably went up to 11.10
I've told my OH to hide my scales so I don't obsess with weighting myself and give them to me every Friday morning!!
I've gone out today and bought some slim fast milk shakes , 8 bought some salad , breakfast bars and fruit... I've started today!!!!
My plan is to have a banana before nursery run.
Come home and have a slim fast shake for my breakfast, have a healthy lunch or a shake and dinner and inbetween just have fruit or nuts etc.
I'm going to be doing my nursery run each weekday and my stepper, also crunches and squats.
(DVD when I have the energy!!)
I'm just looking for support so I stay focused, I'm thinking updated my progress on here will help!!
Anyone else dieting after baby or just in general!- please share your story
Good luck! I am really struggling at the moment but desperate to lose some weight, I'm 11st 6lbs so not very different to you (although I'm short so probably a lot bigger!). I'm also thinking about incorporating slim fast as I have found that has worked in the past. I haven't had a baby but really struggling and would really benefit from some mutual support.
Hi!! well... I ate well, then hit a wall of "what's the point!!!" And ate everything!!
Sooo... I've decided I'm going to switch up what I'm doing, as I get REALLY hungry come 12.30/1pm, I never feel satisfied with my lunch and that's when I'll over eat or keep snacking.
I'm going to go back to what I did after having my son and have my dinner at lunch time.
My plan from tomorrow is banana before school run. Come home and have a slim fast shake. (Before or after working out) then pick my son up and come home and have my main meal (dinner) around 1pm.
Healthy snack bar or fruit/nuts etc in afternoon then a shake for dinner and see how I get on!!
It's defiantly easier with support or someone else going through the same thing!!
I'd love to be 10.10lbs by summer... it's just having focus and sticking to it! I REALLY am going to try my best from tomorrow and only weigh myself every Friday. (As sometimes I can get obsessed about weighing myself!!
Are you thinking of starting a diet soon!? Or still planning on what you're doing to go with (slim fast etc) x
You sound so like me, I do the 'what's the point thing' all the time! I've had another bad day today and I'm not sure what to do really - I generally count calories and I know it works but for some reason I just can't seem to stick with it at the moment. I'm also really struggling to motivate myself to exercise. My job is quite stressful and I feel constantly exhausted and turn to food for comfort I think. I'm also reassessing when I weigh myself, I've always weighed myself on a Saturday but then I think I use that as an excuse to eat badly over the weekend, I'm wondering about a mid week weigh in on a Wednesday.
How do you motivate yourself? I am so miserable about how I look but still can't manage to stick to it! I'd really like to be 9.5st but that seems like such unreachable dream at the moment!

I motivate myself by thinking of summer- I find taking photos (before photos) helps ALOT!! As just looking at them makes me never want to stick to a diet!!! Lol.
I also get so exhausted and stressed , anytime I have time to exercise I'm just too tired- I find putting music on helps as then I get up and get into it- once I've worked out I feel soo much better for it and happier!
I'm defiantly starting tomorrow and Will weigh myself every Friday.. weigh yourself when ever you feel will work for you.
My OH has hidden my scales lol- the way I've eaten I'm 100% 11.10 by now- so will just hope by Friday I'm lower than that weight!
Yeha counting calories has never worked for me! I just will have meat and salad or veg for my dinner, soups or tuna and brown pitta and salad.. just any thing healthier compared to crisps massive bowl of rice etc!
Once I get through tomorrow I'll be okay and hopefully back in the "zone!" As i always find the first day the hardest!!!! Then I'm hopeing On my way! hen I weigh myself Friday morning any weight loss will motivate me for over the weekend!!
I'm miserable with how I look, I dislike myself so much but I've actually be two stone heavier!!!
After my son I lost 18lbs eating dinner at lunch time and something small come dinner time. I will defiantly be going back to this tomorrow!!! When you start we can support each other for sure! xx
You sound really motivated! I think tomorrow I will clear out any unhealthy food, stock up on healthy stuff and move my exercise bike into my front room so I will actually use it! Then I'll weigh myself Wednesday and go from there. I'm still not sure whether Wednesday will be my usual weigh in day or whether I'll stick with Saturdays and just have a short first 'week'! Like you I know I need to get into the zone, once I start losing I know that will motivate me more than anything. I'm going to try and go for a walk at lunchtimes too - where I work has lovely grounds so hopefully that will help.
To be honest it's only tonight I've felt like this.. I ate well and then just over ate and ate crap!! And then.. a take away so.. I've just thought to myself, I've bought all the stuff to eat Right and I'm just choosing to Be lazy and stay fat!! Only I can change it so I HAVE to start.. injust have to.
Yeah, defiantly buy the stuff as that's what I've done today-slim fast shakes, fruit, salad etc I have no excuse not to start!

Yeah and then you can even watch your favourite programme and pedal away! Even at a slow pace, As it's better then just sitting on the sofa.

Yes we can! I think I just get impatient, I have one good day and want to be slim lol! It feels like it will take ages but got to start somewhere. Yes that was my thinking with the bike, I'm going to put a DVD on and hopefully that will distract me from the exercise!

I eat a breakfast bar instead of a bacon sandwich and I expect to be 7lbs down lol!

Get all the good food in tomorrow and move the bike into your living room! Weigh yourself Wednesday and get started!
Yeah it really does help as I find myself feeling so down about it and like no one understand. Makes it so much harder. Xx
And when I feel down about it I tend to eat worse and think 'what's the point' - makes no sense I know! If we can keep each other positive that should help,

Weighed myself this morning- I'm 11.10 and a half I knew I had gained..
I've had a breakfast bar before the nursery run... will have a slim fast shake when bk home!!
Then having my main meal at lunch.. fruit in the afternoon and a shake at dinner time..
Next time I weigh myself will be Saturday morning.. so if even the "half" has gone!! Lol.
I think my problem is I have one bad day and give up for the rest of the week which I know is stupid. I think that's why I can't decide when to weigh in - I actually prefer Saturdays for a few reasons but worried that if I stick with that it will be an excuse just to eat rubbish for the next four days and start again on Saturday!
Well done, you've made a good start to today. Try not worry about your start weight, I don't think I'm 11st 6lbs still either I like the idea of having your main meal at lunchtime but that's difficult for me when I'm at work. Keep up the good work!
It went REALLY well!!! Very proud of myself.
I woke up and had a bar,
Come home from school run and had a shake.
Had my main meal like planned at 1pm (chicken and salad)
A bar mid afternoon and I've had a shake for dinner.
Will have fruit later if I'm hungry.
At one point today I had a slice of pizza in my hand and put it back!!!! Now that's will power lol!!
One day at a time but feeling proud of myself today as I felt to just give it all up (again!) a couple of times, not even through hunger but feeling low and food and eating makes me happy... until it's done and I feel even lower!!!!
How's your day been!? Was you able to get the healthy food in!? X
We really do sound alike, I always end up just giving up because I feel down and stressed! Well done for doing so well today. I have got healthy stuff in - the whole starting 'mid week' thing is still going to fell weird I think, I'm sure I will feel tempted to just wait until Saturday to start again but I'm so fed up of doing that and just getting bigger and bigger!

Yes.. I know, but when I'm feeling down I just think what's the point!!!! And I no while I'm eating, im happy! .. after I HATE myself for being so weak and giving in.
And weirdly I'm feeling low in the beginning because of my weight!!
Getting through tomorrow you'll feel so good for it and then by Saturday you'll be on your way to losing the weight you want off! I'm here if you feel weak or like you're going to give up..
Did you buy any slim fast or just the healthy foods
I've got some of the shakes and few of the bars too. I find the stuff you make up with the powder a bit yuck so bought the ready made stuff. When I've done it in the past I haven't always stuck religiously to Slim Fast - sometimes I have something different for breakfast (but something with roughly the same calories), then a shake for lunch and either a healthy meal or shake for dinner depending on how much time I have. I like that Slim Fast makes it easier though, I'm less likely to eat unhealthily if I can just grab something easy, it takes away the choice. I've also ordered a nice diet journal thingy today - in the past I've always stuck to it more when I write things down and I love stationary so any excuse! It won't be here for tomorrow but I can start using it when it comes.
We are too alike it's scary!! Lol- I've written down what I've eaten too!! I find it easier as I can see infront of me what I've actually eaten that day.
I'm going to buy some slim fast bats tomorrow as I bought just some breakfast bars but they don't fill me up too much so I'm thinking the slim fast ones are obviously made to fill me up! So defiantly going to grab some tomorrow.
Yes! I'm going to do the same. Switch it up, if I have a shake for breakfast and have a healthy lunch but fancy a proper dinner then I'll have a dinner and not a shake.
I'm not counting calories as that's never been my thing, im good at not having carbs, so I fill up on fish/meat and salad/veg. As long as it's healthy I'm sure I'll be fine!
I'm going to weigh myself next on Friday morning.... I'm hoping I'm even 11.10 and to have lost even that half a LB!! Lol

Same to you - I think coming in here gives me someone to answer to so might make me stick to it. I live alone and when I get home after work it's very easy to eat rubbish, no one else knows! But if I come on here, it will make me take responsibility. Maybe I will try and think of the next 3 days as a little short week to kick start me and if I can stick to it for 3 days and maybe lose something then that might make me want to carry on.
Oh and I also bought the ready made shakes too as they're nicer!! Lol.
Yeah same,I find coming on here it's like I'd actually have to tell someone "oh I gave up and ate a pizza" - and I really wouldn't like to do that!
That's how I'm seeing it- weighing myself Friday morning will HOPEFULLY show even a one LB weightloss and make me more focused. I've decided I will have a treat every fri night! So I don't go crazy and I have something to look forward to.
My weigh ins will be on a Friday and Monday morning. So I know what I'm starting the weekend and the week at.
We can do this... just need to stay focused.
What's your plan with the shakes and bars? When will you have them?
I just ate a snack- some cashews, dried bananas and raisins. That's it until tomorrow now
I think most days I will have either a shake for breakfast or something else like porridge or muesli. Then I'll have a shake or bar at lunch - I find that much easier at work as I'm on the go quite a lot and then a healthy meal in the evening (but I might have a shake occasionally if my schedule is different and I've eaten more in the day).
When I successfully lost weight before I always weight myself on a Saturday morning and that was then my 'cheat' day - having a day where I could have a treat kept me on plan all week and I still lost weight each week so I'm tempted to do the same again. Not sure if I will this Saturday though as I'll have only done 3 days so maybe need to give myself a proper kick start before I have a treat!
Watching 'how to lose weight well' on Ch, 4...hoping for some tips!
You sound like you'll defiantly get back into it! Maybe not easily because who does lol! I feel good getting this day done!! It makes E feel positive for tomorrow and then Thursday it will be soo much easier and then I'll weigh myself on Friday!!
Yeah, I'm going to go through each day and see what I'm going to do, if I'm hungrier than normal come dinner time I'm going to eat instead of have my shake , even if I had my main dinner meal at lunch.
I can always just tuna salad or something.

You have been very good today! I think my big thing is not getting derailed by work. When I lost weight last time I was in a different job and found it quite easy really. I put it all back on when I started this job this year. I find it really stressful and pressured and I think when I feel shattered and low I eat rubbish! Need to not let it get to me too much!!
Yeah, days I'll have shake for breakfast, then my main dinner at lunch but come evening if I want more than a shake then I'll have dinner! Even though I would have had a meal for lunch. I'd rather have a healthy dinner then have a shake then still end up eating more on top of having that!!
Yeah have Saturday morning as your weigh in and then your cheat day!
Weigh yourself in the morning so you know for sure what you're starting at maybe?
