I'm doing dry January. I was quite the wine fan before embarking on this month's trial...at least a couple of glasses of wine 4-5 nights a week.
I just weighed myself for the first time since day one, and I'm just over 7lbs down. I haven't changed my eating habits at all, just cut out the booze. I've replaced the booze with Elderflower pressé, which I drink most evenings.
My clothes are feeling loads looser... getting closer to my pre-pregnancy clothes at last! My rosacea is clearing up and I look less puffy in my face.
I'm not missing wine at the moment as everyone is still skint after Xmas so there have been no tempting nights out to drag me off the wagon. I know that once we are all paid and resuming our social lives, I will want to drink again, but part of me is kind of dreading drinking. Plus I feel so proud of myself for doing this. I've never gone longer than 10 days since I was about 18.
Tempted to extend it a few weeks beyond January to see if I can shift another 7lbs.
