What can I do in three weeks?

I am off on holiday in three weeks, and whilst I was planning on a strict diet, exercise regime and general health kick for two months immediately after Christmas, needless to say this hasn't happened.

So here I am with three weeks to go and I'm chubby, unfit and not feeling very healthy. I don't have a lot of time to exercise although I do walk a lot. The main problem though I think is food portions, eating on the hoof and/or when tired, and wine drinking. And a lack of will power.

Am I a lost cause? Please tell me your suggestions for what to do for the next 21 days so I can feel and look a bit better for my holidays!

Well I lost a stone without even trying by giving up a daily coffee I suppose it would work the same with ANY caffeinated drinks.. Also eating fruit on an empty stomach and not having carbs and protein at the same meal e.g. Cheese\meat salad or veg (no spuds of course). Toast with marmite\salad if you get my meaning Grin . I do stretches every morning and or walk or dance before breakfast too.

Oh I also lose weight if I don't eat after 7.30 p.m. and before 7.30. am (you can extend the 'window' too) It works Grin Good luck.

Have you looked at the Blood-Sugar Diet. I lost 5.5lbs in one week on that. I couldn't do it long term but you'd shift a fair bit in 3 weeks if you can stick to it.

Military diet. Unpleasant but simple and effective.

Oh thanks - plenty of food for thought - so to speak Grin

I've googled the military diet, and yep, it sounds repulsive; the combination of egg, tuna and bananas... But the reviews are great. I'd have to think had about how to combine it with work.

I've just had steak and loads of veg for lunch, and I'm hungry already. I did turn down a glass of wine though. I need to keep busy, to stop the urge to snack...

Drink water every time youre hungry! And slow down when you eat. It takes ten to twenty minutes for your digestive system to realise that you're full. And thirst often masquerades as hunger.

High fat, low carb, high protein, no more than 1200 cals per day.

Tons of water.

I like the sound of the military diet. I like all the foods except cottage cheese.

Don't go hungry It's true about drinking loads of water and herbal teas. Have some nuts and fruit for a snack and EAT AND CHEW SLOWLY !!!

Tollygunge-did you just do the three days?

I suggested nuts but be careful with cashews and coconut, they're plugged with calories (and they're in everything!!).

Thanks for the suggestions. I am now drinking a LOT of water and trying to keep myself distracted from snacking.

I did day 1 of 30 day shred and it nearly killed me but at least I did it...

The key is not to give up. So do whatever you can to keep to 1200 calories a day until yoU go. Exercise will help you tone but don't eat back the calories.

Yes am I right in thinking it's the eating that will help more than the exercise??

As I can probably manage that in terms of time and work etc, but not necessarily loads of exercise as well, and then of course that makes me hungry anyway...

Weight loss is about 90% what goes in your mouth and 10% exercise. Try 16:8 so you only have an 8 hour window in which to eat and fast for the other 16

Yes that works Finally I do it (not religiously though) starting at approx 7pm until 9 or 10 am. I drink plenty of herbal teas and water so I don't think about food. Take them to bed too.
