Go on a diet?

Do you do any other exercise besides walking?

I've found yoga vids on YouTube to be really helpful for toning up.

Also look at what you're eating. My diet is basically good but too many extras like biscuits and crisps and weight starts to creep up...

Dieting/calorie restriction is about 80 per cent of weight loss. Try my fitness pal. Their calorie levels will give you an idea of how much you should eat at your height/activity level

all that matters is how you feel about it and how fit you are. I'm a couple inches taller than you and am aiming for 60- 64kg. 68-70kg would still be flabby on me. But I'm a size 12 at my current weight and am mostly muscle and cellulite lol

I would be quite overweight at 70kg and 5'4 I'm afraid. I'm 5'4, and 48kg.

Just Walking is just normal activity rather than excercise. How much walking do you do? What is your diet like?

Walking needs to be fast to be affective and you really do need to watch what you eat. I have a fitbit and will aim for fast walking that raises my heart rate to the 'fat burn zone'. But I also go to the gym twice a week and fitness class or do a climbing session once a week.

I'm 5'4 and weigh around 58-59kg and wear a size 10. I would feel overweight if I was any heavier. I don't diet or exercise really but I don't eat junk or processed food often and prepare all my meals from scratch.

You could try some exercises or stretches that specifically target your stomach as this is where bulge is most dangerous.

68kg for 5'4" seems enormous to me; are you sure 66kg is a healthy weight for that height?

It doesn't seem like enough exercise to actually keep you fit either? 10 - 15 minute walks not that regularly? Doesn't the NHS recommend a few times a week moderate exercise, it should get your heart rate up which walking wouldn't normally do.

If you followed the NHS guidance it's good for your health which is more important and you might find that with healthy eating and a bit more exercise the few extra kilos disappear Grin

At just under 5 5 (164cm) a healthy weight is around 50-67kg. So 68kg is certainly not enormous! I'm this height and feel best at 60kg or so. Staying there is harder!

48kg kg at 5ft4 is slightly underweight, and associated with slightly more health risks than being 70kg at the same height.

OP I'm afraid Diet is at least 80% of the work of weight loss so I'd focus on that if you are keen to lose some.

ArgyMargy 66kg is the maximum of the healthy weight range you know like when I looked online the range was like 58kg-66kg so I should be in between this

thank you Rinceoir you sound like one of the calculators I checked online....
you've been really helpful....

what i did once was take out all sugar and replace with dates....that seemed to work.....might have to go healthy again...

if I'm somewhere in between 58-66 like say 63-64 then even if I go up a little it wont go over my healthy BMI..problem is I lost weight and was 66kg but then it went back up again because i stopped my healthy eating....

so its very easy to go above my healthy BMI at 66kg...

The issue seems to be excercise also. 10-15mins walking a day really is tiny. That's literally not going anywhere and really can't be classified as 'walking'

I haven't ever dieted. But in terms of walking I walk around 20,000 steps a day minimum just getting on with life. Today it's recorded at 22,400 which is around 8miles.
Twice a week I run 5km before work.

I would say you need to be walking 2-3 hrs a day for it to be ' excercise'. Don't use the car at all.
