1000 calories a day - but not low carb

I read the Blood Sugar Diet a few months ago and I was sold on his low calorie, low carb approach to rapid weight loss. I have a BMI of 41 and need to be under 35 BMI for a knee operation.

I didn't have time to go shopping this this week when I needed to start so I've been taking it easy, recording everything in MFP and I'm eating 1000 calories a day. But it's not low carb - I'm having a large bowl of cereal with full fat milk and something like a fish fillet with veg or a soup and slice of bread for my main meal.

This is working for me! I can't believe I'm not climbing the walls with hunger or exhaustion and it's been 5 days so far. I had intended on switching to low carb but I am thinking if it isn't broke why fix it?!

I only sorted my scales out yesterday so don't know if I've lost weight but I must have done surely?

I know I'm not having the most nutritious food but if I switch to low carb will I lose weight quicker? I'm not sure how well I will do on a low carb diet Sad

I personally find that lowering carbs and increasing protein help me to consume fewer calories as it fills me up more. But everyone is different.
