Sorry this isn't a TAAT, but the thread about eating chocolate every day made me realise that I eat far too much sugar.
I'm not particularly overweight, within healthy range for bmi but about a stone heavier than I'd like to be. I had a baby 6 months ago and I'm only 5lbs bigger than I was pre pregnancy, but I still feel huge iyswim.
I'm kidding myself it's baby weight, it's not, it's the sheer amount of dark chocolate digestives I'm putting away.
It's like I'm addicted. I know that sounds ridiculous, but I feel like I have to have chocolate every day. I feel really disappointed if there's no chocolate in the house and have been known to get dp to bring me more on his way home, it's becoming an issue!
The thing is, I really like it. The rest of my meals are ok, mostly healthy. Probably not brilliant by mumsnet standard but usually packed full of veg or salad, nothing fried, mostly from scratch. I do like the occasional pizza but we're talking maybe one every two weeks?!
I also like diet coke which I know is not sugary, but I'm sure I've seen somewhere that said because of the sweetener it makes you crave sugar?!
Can someone help me cut down? I don't want to give it up entirely to be honest because I like it and I don't need a huge lifestyle change I just need to put down the biscuits and have them as a treat rather than breakfast an every day thing.
I think I'm worse now on Mat leave, because I would take healthy food to work, and then I couldn't eat crap because I didn't have any.
Is anyone else the same? Has anyone given it up or significantly cut down?
What can I replace it with?!
Thanks!
