Not sure if this is the right place for this, let me know if not.. Every now and then I'll have some wholewheat pasta. I calorie count and the pasta I was currently using was 147 calories per 100g. Coming to the end of my current supply, I bought some more, and was under the impression that pasta is pasta, calorie content would be pretty similar so didn't bother checking the new pack I was very surprised to find that this pasta was well over double the calories (335 per 100g).
Now, I've discarded the bag for my old pasta so unsure of the brand, but THINK it may have been the Asda brand (looked online and there's once called Good and Balanced that states 147 cals per 100g). My query is: is it really possible that there can be such a discrepancy in wholewheat pasta?? It seems a huge difference.
I realise this is oh, so trivial in the grand scheme of things, but I've been whacking 100g on my plate quite happily, secure in the knowledge that it was ONLY 147 calories!! But WAS it???
Thanks in advance
