Just stuck in a rut

Hi everyone,

I feel like I am really stuck in a massive rut at the moment and I just can't get out of it. I started a new job this year and I'm really unhappy there and it's dragging me down. I have put on weight, I feel exhausted all the time and just can't motivate myself to exercise or stick with a diet.

Last year I lost weight and now I've put most of it back on, I feel like such a failure, how do you all motivate yourselves to make a change when you're feeling low?

xx

If the job ismaking you unhappy then you need to really look at that first.
What's making you unhappy there?
Can anything be done?

it does become a vicious cycle when you eat badly though so it's always worth trying to tackle that.

Try to get organised with food and plan all your meals. Choose things that are quick and easy and try to limit the 'treats' to one small item a day, like a mini size of what you normally like.

Thank you for replying. I know that if I was in another job that I felt happier in it would change a lot for me but there are not many jobs around at the moment and I don't think I'm going to be able to leave any time soon unfortunately. I feel like I need to do something in the meantime because I ='ve already put on so much weight but I think I feel so low and stressed about work I am struggling to find any motivation x

Can you do anything to improve your work situation? Courses? Training? Speaking to hr etc?

It's so horrible when you're in a job that's making you miserable.
Keep looking for a new one. You never know....

I really want to do something about work but feels a bit hopeless at the moment. I've worked in the same organisation for a while and loved it until I got a new role in a different department earlier this year. I just don't enjoy it, it's really pressured and I'm worried and stressed about work all the time, I just don't feel it's the right job for me but there's not much else out there sad
