Who's up for the 7lbs in September challenge?

ponygirlcurtis · 01/09/2016 08:32

Following on from June, July and August's threads, we're aiming to lose 7lbs.
(Posting as Rshard is still on holiday - hope you had a great time!)

All regimes welcome. Support and encouragement guaranteed!

My starting weight for September is 11st 5.25lbs. (I actually ended yesterday at 6.5lbs but the scales have jumped down again so I am having it!). That means I lost 5lbs in August. I found having this thread helped my focus and determination, if it helps anyone else, fantastic! Smile

Good luck everyone!

Thanks pony. Well done on the 5lb loss for August.
I'm a newbie to this thread but having put half a stone on over the summer I need a kick start to get rid of it before it settled and becomes impossible to lose!
I am doing a combination of mfp and no/low sugar.
Starting weight was 9st 9lbs and scales this morning say 9st 6lbs so hoping I'm off to a good start!

Another newbie checking in!
I've put a stone on in the last three months and would like to get it off again as quickly as it went on.

Staring weight on Monday was 10st11 and already 10st8.75 today, but I think the rest will probably be a lot slower. Would love to be hovering just over 10stone by the end of the month.

Starting weight 64.5kg.

Good start Skala and welcome aboard Nice

Lets get started!

Hi - can I join in? I currently have about a stone and a half to shift... I'm around 11stone 9 after having baby no. 3, 4 months ago. He is breastfeeding non-stop so I'm hungry all the time, and I'm reaching for the wrong food because my weight it just creeping up and up!
I'd like to be 10st or thereabouts...

Mind if I join? After a rather bingey summer, I'd like a bit of a kick start through the first few weeks back at uni. I currently weigh 11st 4. My eventual goal weight is 9st, though any movement in that direction over this month would be fab!

Yes yes yes!

I was really "in the zone" before my wedding in July, but decided to enjoy my honeymoon without thinking about calories and let's just say it shows! I lost about 11lbs for the wedding, don't know how much is back on but I'll take a deep breath and weigh myself this afternoon Grin

I lost the weight pretty quickly before and whilst I did look / feel slimmer in my clothes, I think I still had disproportionately high body fat: I still had a jigglier belly and bum and thighs than you might have expected from my scale weight. So this time it's about looking good in my undies and figure-fitting dresses. I really wanted to wear a bikini on my honeymoon for the first time ever but it definitely didn't happen, and I was really conscious of my thighs in my one-piece.

Goal weight is 54kg though, in the interests of having something tangible to shoot for.

Overall target is 8st 9.

Hello, can I jump on board? I'm an 'larger' lady with quite a bit to lose overall.

I lost 20Kg last year (Started at over 90Kg Blush ) , but i've fallen off the wagon and although I havent gained loads I seem to just be constantly bouncing between 69-72Kg since March(!) I was on a thread last year which really helped keep me on track, so hopefully this will give me a kick up the bum.

Starting weight is 71.8Kg, hopefully can get that down a fair chunk this month. 7lbs is roughly 3.5kgs so not too scary. The benefit if weighing in metric is I can celebrate even if I only lose 100g in a week! Grin

Starting off with MFP and calorie counting, though i've had good results with 5:2 before so may slip into that once i've got back into the swing of things. I'm doig a lot of walking and I'm still being good with my portion sizes at meal times, but i've been diving head first into the chocolate and booze recently - that stops today!

I'd like to lose 7lbs in September. Start weight this morning 9 stone 7lbs so end of September target 9 stone 0. Overall goal is 8 stone 8lbs.

I'm doing low carb and I'm a vegetarian. Also thinking of doing Dry September.

WOW Dyrne 20KG is amazing, well done!

I'd think you'd sniff at a 7lb weight loss after that Grin

Hi all, does anyone find that the problem with mfp is that is 'allows' you to eat utter crap? For example my elderly neighbour who I look out for a bit just forced a white magnum on me and it would have been genuinely rude to say no! So I've had to use that as my lunch or my calories will go way over. Not a healthy way of eating at all. Confused

QuimReaper · 01/09/2016 14:49

Skala you can't really blame the app for that! I'm a bit confused as to how that's a problem with MFP?

When you have to eat something to be polite, in my opinion you just have to do it and get straight back on the wagon. One of those things.

I only mean that if I was sticking to a no sugar/fat diet I might have found a way to say no but because in my head I could justify a way to fit it into my 'diet' it was too easy to say yes! Calorie counting doesn't encourage me to eat healthily just stick within the boundaries of a number iyswim?

Quim thanks, i'm much happier out of the "obese" BMI, now time to knuckle down and get out of the "unhealthy" BMI! Hopefully chunks of 7lbs at a time will start things off again - easier to think of it that way rather than the ~3stone left to get mid healthy!

Skala different things work for different people I guess - I like calorie counting precisely because it accomodates the odd magnum; personally if I feel restricted i'm less likely to stick to a diet. No need to skip lunch, you can just adjust your meals accordingly - for example, I know if I have a ham salad sandwich for lunch (~200 cals) and chicken and veg for dinner (~650 cals) then that perfectly accomodates a cheeky magnum (240 cals) - I agree it requires an element of willpower otherwise I could just go "fuck it" and eat 5 magnums in a day and nowt else Grin .

Hope you don't mind if I join. Starting calorie counting using Fitbit app and walking more mid August. Gone from 75.6kg to 72.8kg in just under 3 weeks.

Got a wedding early Oct so would like to be under 70kg. Ultimately aiming for between 60-64kg which is what looks about right on my 5ft9 frame. 3.5kg/half a stone would take me to just over 69kg.

Aiming for 1300 calories a day, 3-4 x 20-30 mins weights and 10k steps per day.

Oh I would like to join too!
I'm 10st2 and would like to be 9st2, very short so it's a lot on my frame, but 7lbs this month would be awesome. I have developed some really bad eating habits this summer.
I'm also 5:2ing, tomorrow is my 500 cal day... No drinking in September here too. Fingers crossed!
