Weight loss chat

what stops you in your tracks ????

I am keen to lose weight - basically because I am fat ! BUT I am not unhappy in myself. I am also very fit so extra exercise is a no no!

What I am looking for is the ONE thought / buzz-word / memory that totally stops me in my tracks when I am about to embark on my compulsive eating ...

What's the one thing that makes you grind to a halt over the biscuit barrell and reach for a celery stick instead ??
Thanks

I remember when I was a kid one of my friends had a really huge Mum and my friend was quite embarassed - I want DS to be proud of me so I always think of this when I reach for the chocolate...although it doesn't always stop me

First time I have looked at this chat...to be honest it scared me a little. After 3 babies I am now exercising and trying to loose weight. I yo-yo dieted from age 12 to 26 and on my wedding day swore I would never diet again, but change my eating habits for the better. I think that I have achieved this slowly, being pregnant helped, but I am with you Crystaltips, one word or picture in the kitchen would help! Bikini won't do it, son no.2 put paid to that! (stretchmarks!)...any ideas? ANYONE??!!

Just to explain the Beety thing guys, she would kill me if I started to put on more weight. I can hear her in my head whenever I reach for something. Perhaps a diet friend would help someone who could make sure you stick to it and whose voice you heard as you reached for the twix.

Crystaltips-- Lots of diff things stop me, not wanting to look like this, the thought of another summer covering up, my son being teased, people's horible rude comments, my health, my son being happy with slim mum, THE WAY I LOOK

lol@glitter!! beety does have the knack of knowing all!!!

grommit-- so true. I know I am medically obeese and yet keep it put of my head. But you are right, I will deff keep it at forfront of my mind.

Being over 13 stone , being on the verge of obese (I think after DS1 I was obese), not fitting into any clothes I own. Finding my relationship with food becoming totally out of hand, ie constantly eating junk/high fat foods.

PS Can MN Mamas help?

I think we all need to support each other .... I daren't go to the "Lose a stone with the Codmother" thread - because I keep on losing my motivation and poor Coddy will spend her whole time nagging me ...

The point is - if we are reading these weight threads - we are obviously wanting to do something about it .... I just CANNOT find the trigger to stop me ... and I KNOW that I look crap in a bikini and I KNOW that I am very overweight .... but for whatever reason it doesn't stop me when I am munching away at the pringles

YOu know it does demented. Lets face it you have been ag reat support already to me. Champs and others have me laughing at myself when I feel depressed. I have been to ww and got bored of being clapped but on here somehow I feel that more effort should be called for as to let you lot down would somehow seem much worse.
