Says it all really. Using mfp, eating properly, 3 times a day. Getting the balance right according to mfp but nothing. Is my body actually just need 1400 c a day to maintain ? Has anyone else had this.

How much have you got to lose? It can be hard of you only have a little to lose. Can you increase the amount of exercise you do?

How much weight do you have to lose? If it's only a stone or so, you may see results at a much slower rate.

MFP usually seems to recommend 1200 calories per day for weight loss, 1400 sounds like a maintenance level to me.

I was 10st 12lbs (I'm 5'3"), and the first stone or so fell off. Now I'm 9st 10lbs, and the final 9lbs is coming off much more slowly - I'm lucky to lose 2lbs per month at the moment, as I'm no longer overweight, just bigger than I'd like to be.

Are you factoring in exercise?

1400 would be too high for me. I lose about a pound a month on 1200 if I'm committed.

I seem to need to go under 1000 to see noticeable short term loss.

1400? I'd put on, or maintain weight on that.

1400 would make me gain weight as well.

I maintain at around 1200.

I lose at around 1000.

Are your properly counting everything?
So spreads, sauces, dressings, snacks, drinks (alcoholic or even just the milk and sugar in tea's) weighing out portions rather than guessing. Are you eating your exercise calories?

I need to loose a stone. I'm being really strict as I have pcos so really watching carbs, weighing and being really anal about entering food.
It's reassuring that others find that they maintain on 1400. Cutting down to 1200. Cross fingers that works. It's a pain in the a** to say the least. I'm not eating my excersize I ignore that but I only dog walk and garden as I think I may be allergic to gyms and anything remotely sporty. 😉

It IS hard. I'm usually just under 1200cals, but MFP gets pissy about it and won't give you a calculation if you're too far under.

I'm trying to cut down to 1000 as well, but it's bloody hard. Still, I'm desperate to shift my C section flap!

1000 is hard. I can only do it long term if I eat back the miniscule small amount of exercise I do.

I've got about a stone to lose too. I can't seem to get the willpower together to finally get rid and stay rid. Even then, I'd still be a 12. With a belly.

absolutely, it's a real chore, isn't it? I'm lighter now than I have been in years, and generally I feel much better, but my belly is still horrible. I've lost a lot of fat from it, but the flap is still very much there and I'm hoping 9-10lbs more will lift it a bit further - I'm not expecting miracles though!

Yes, beauty. A chore. A bloody endless one.

I'm ancient, which may partially account for the belly. But I've never had a belly before. I've always carried my weight on my legs.

I've got boobs, too. I've never had those either.

I'm wondering whether it's just weight or my body changing shape.
