Anyone else been pretty successful in getting the weight off?

I've gone from a big size 16 to an easy 10. Really loved the support of the MN boards. Am now... dunno, sort of getting used to being slim now. I went clothes shopping and just picked size 10s off the shelf and they all fir fine. First time since I was a teenager.

Today someone said to me "you don't need to lose any more now". Not sure how I feel about that. I feel like I have half a stone left to go. Flabby tummy. But then when she said it I started thinking about my dds and just mentally checking that I'm giving them a good message...

I'm doing an hour of exercise a day, sometimes cardio, sometimes strength and toning. I'm still doing my tiny calorie count on MFP because I don't feel I'm quite at goal yet.

Anyone else at about the same place?

Wow Michelle, well done, that's really impressive!!

From the sounds of it I think all you need to focus on now is exercise to tone up your tummy and maintain your weight loss. Are you going to gradually increase your daily cals..?

I'm not at the same place as you yet, just 3 weeks into a new diet plan but am half a stone down and feeling motivated. Just wanted to say a big well done!

Thank you both. It was hard work, and I think the hardest thing was consistency over a long period of time. I just didn't cheat, ever. But I think (I hope) I've made the fabled "lifestyle changes" that I can keep up long term. I don't really fancy being fat again, so...

I started at 1400 cals when I was bigger, looking for a 1lb a week loss. I'm now on 1200 because your alloted amount reduces as you get smaller (which seems unfair!)

I'm not looking to increase cals right now because I am not at goal yet. I do take it a bit easier at weekends now though. Mon-fri is full on.

I understand your concern about wanting to give your daughters a good message - as long as you're not talking to them about dieting, calories, 'good/bad' foods etc. then you're doing fine. There is nothing wrong with them seeing their mum exercising and keeping fit - that's a great example to set!

I have never been really overweight to be honest, just the 'vanity' pounds if you know what I mean - always within a stone of my ideal weight, but it is tough when you get very close to your preferred weight because you have to be ever so careful with your calorie consumption!

Massive well done to you for losing the weight - do whatever makes you feel comfortable, and if that's losing a few more pounds then go for it.
