I'm doing a 90 day challenges- anyone want to join me?

Over the past month I've done next to no exercise, I've drank like a fish every night and have put on about a stone.

I'm giving myself 90 days to get back on top of things. That takes me until 5th November. I want to lose 15lbs but I'm not all that focused on the weight loss- I just want to feel healthy, better and in control.

If I can get things under control and feel better in 90 days that should give me more restraint heading into the Christmas build up and help me to feel better as the nights start to get longer.

Anyone want to join me? What do you want out of the 90 days?

Hi yep I'll join you.

I've been wanting to get started again for a while now. I finally took the steps this morning. I've started drinking more water, took the kids to the park & then took the eldest to play tennis for an hr. Then we had a lovely salad for lunch.

Over the next 90 days I want to;

Continue to drink more water
Get outside for at least 30mins three times a week (I think that's realistic for my lifestyle)
Loose 1stone
Feel healthier

Nothing to full on as I know that I'd skip back into old ways.

Good luck, let's keep each other motivated Grin

Lady Good for you! Sounds like you've made an excellent start today.

Drinking more water was my NY resolution. It's the only one I've ever stuck to and it's been amazing. My skin is looking great and I haven't had that horrible bottom-of-the-gut hunger for months and months as I manage to plug the gaps with water.

I've noticed the difference it's made to my hunger pangs. I've been drinking at least three pints of water at work every day for the last week & it's helping in lots of ways.

I wasn't even that hungry at dinner so I had tomato soup & one slice of whole meal bread. I am kinda following slimming world. I started it a year ago & lost a stone (put it all on again of purse) so hopefully that will help.

I've a big spa weekend with some friends at the end of August so that's some motivation for me.

How did you get on today??

I'm up for that!! I've gained 8lbs since going back to work after mat leave after Xmas 😩
I would love to have it off again by next Xmas.

I'm goijg back to weight watchers and doing HIIT three times a week and weight training twice a week plus trying to hit at least 10k steps a day. Hoping that helps as it just seems to be creeping up and up and nothing I'm doing seems to be working ☹️

Hello LittleBee. Wow, those are amazing goals. I've heard excellent things about HIIT.

Yesterday (day 1) was a very good start. I ate about 1400 calories in total, a 20 minute swim and walked about 2 miles. I also managed to drink plenty of water.
Lunch was a brown roll with ham and cheese and crisps and was about 500 calories.
Tea last night was pasta with a tomato, chilli, basil and chorizo sauce. Lovely and about 750 calories.

So far today (day 2), I've walked 2 miles and had about 15 minutes swimming.

Well done you! Dinner sounds amazing.
I've had alpen so far today but now got a really dodgy tummy so not sure if I've a bug or just out of sorts so not feeling like my morning snack.

For lunch I'm meant to be having flat mushroom stuffed with spinach, ham and feta and dinner is meant to be turkey meatball pasta bake but need to see how I feel.
Going to do my weights based exercise tonight and tomorrow's a rest day but I've a gentle walk planned with a friend for tomorrow night.

I've planned all my meals for the week so I'm feeling much more organised. I'm back at work next week after the summer off so going to try and batch cook on Sunday and freeze all my lunches for the week so I've no excuse lol.

Yesterday (day 2) was another good day.

Lunch of a brown roll with ham, cheese and lettuce and crisps. About 450 calories.
Tea was a chuck-everything-in-the-pot-and-see fish stew which was actually lovely. About 650 calories.

In total I had about 1250 calories. I did a 15 minute swim and 2 mile walk.

I drank loads of water and got right back into flavoured tea.

Hope you're doing well LittleBee and LadyMary Smile

Hiya, please can I join!

In 90 days, I would like to lose the final 8lb (it's the hardest), generally tone up and have healthier eating habits, as well as be Xmas ready.

I've gone off the wagon, so need to get back on.

I have lost 10lb since Jan, and I am finding losing 2-3lb over a few quiet weeks then maintaining it works best for my lifestyle.

I'm trying to build exercise into daily life, as well as walking everywhere. I have roped a few mates into active walking in the evening, and it works for me, we gossip, moan and set the world to rights over 3 miles. I've done 2 this week and it's raining today so may do a dvd workout.

I am using my fitness pal too, but it's tough as I am small, it's put me on 1200 kcals to lose 1lb a week, so I am finding it tough going.

However, I've stocked up on low calorie jelly, grapes and chicken breast, and could do with the moral support..

Looking forward to sharing the journey with you, good luck everybody xxx

Hi specialagent sounds like you've done really well so far!!
I ended up really ill yesterday so not workout boo.
Today I had - alpen for breakfast, cinnamon French toast with banana for lunch, salmon fillet with salt and pepper crunchy topping and spinach, long stem broccoli, courgette and tomato and treated myself to a wee fun size bag of maltesers with my tea tonight after my walk.
Tomorrow is my weight training day so hopefully I'll be feeling up to that after being poorly.

Really enjoying all the healthy food - getting quite excited about meals. It's my weigh in day tomorrow so fingers crossed I've lost a wee bit.

Hi day 3 for me, went well. I've just finished a 12 hour shift so today's intake was beans on toast for breakfast & veg soup for dinner, no in between.

Day 2 however was a bit crap & my crap I mean I ate all the crap I could get my hands on. It was my first day off in ages & I had prepared for it so hit really hungry then went a bit mad. Not worrying about it or bring hard on myself though because I've learnt it won't get me anywhere anyway. Moving onwards.

Oh your dinners sound lovely! I must try a few of those.

Exercise wise I've done another he of tennis but I've 4 more 12 hour shifts this week so it will be Monday before I get the chance to get out & do something. Considering starting C25k.

Good luck with tomorrow weigh-in!

Hi Special Well done on your weight loss so far. Definitely come here for moral support for the last push!

Yesterday (day 3) I managed another 1250 calorie day.
Lunch was another roll, ham, cheese and crisps coming in at about 450 calories.
Tea was another tomato and basil pasta but with lots of chilli this time. I have an out-of-control basil plant so basil gets shoved into everything. Tea was about 650 calories.

I've also re-discovered tip tops (also known as ice poles, ice sticks, freeze pops depending when you were born and where you're from, apparently). They're only 24 calories and I got a box of 20 from Poundland. The flavours are amazing- tutti fruti, fruit salad, banana, kola kubes and something else I can't remember. One of them after tea really satisfies my desire for something sweet.

I decided not to go swimming today which also means I didn't manage to do my 2 mile walk. I'm hoping it won't make too much difference.

Love ice poles!!

I had my weigh in today and have lost 2.5lbs since Monday - happy with that.

Alpen for breakfast today
Giant mushroom stuffed with salmon, spinach and feta for lunch today
Dinner is mascarpone chicken and mushrooms with spinach leaves and quinoa.
Snacks - salmon pate on oatcake

Little bee, fist bump from me!

I've been good today

Breakfast was a banana, lunch a Katsu bento box, and some popcorn and grapes, dinner was a Cajun chicken breast and salad..

Have a few calories left so will have a cheeky snack later.

Feeling slimmer although no change on the scales,

Went it waitress today, a treat to keep me going. Bought some heck chicken sausages (chicken Italian), seaweed crops (24kcal a packet), some sugar free caramel drops as well as cakes and nuts.

We are going away for the weekend with friends, and them menu is carb heavy so I am taking some bits with me to keep me going.

We have no wifi or mobile reception, which I can do normally but it means I can't watch the Olympics, and boredom marks me eat.

On the plus side we have loads of walking planned, so will rack up the step count.

What are everybody's plans for the weekend and how are you going to navigate the weekend pitfalls?

LittleBee23 · 11/08/2016 22:26

Weekend away sounds lovely!! Although I'd struggle with no wifi lol. Well done for thinking ahead with the snacks.

I have my dad and his wife coming to stay tomorrow night so probably going to struggle as they'll bring wine etc but I've got pasta on the menu and I can have a half portion and bulk it up with salad and I've baked mini cakes for dessert so I can have one and then stop. Going to try and alternate wine with water so I only have two glasses.

Saturday night is date night for hubby and I where I usually cook dinner once the kids are asleep and we have some wine. I've planned a healthy dinner with lots of veg and again going to try and only have 1-2 glasses of wine (usually I'd have a bottle lol). I'm only letting myself have wine on Fridays and Saturdays - I had been drinking 1-2 glasses every night so this is a big improvement lol.

special Good to hear you're feeling slimmer and your trip to Waitrose sounds really successful though I've never heard of seaweed crops!

Tonight for me will be the same as any other night so no problem.
Saturday we're going kitchen shopping which is exciting but also quite daunting. There's a kitchen shop at the end of the road so no massive trek but we might also head to Homebase which is a three mile walk away so that'd clock up some steps if we do go. Saturday night we're having potted prawns with some cheese and chili bread (about 800 calories). No wine but we've got a bag of popcorn (200 calories) to have with a film.

Sunday is a lazy day in the house so no exercise! We're having packet mix shepherd's pie for tea which is about 850 calories so not too bad.

I always let myself have a little bit extra on the weekends but I'm not drinking for the 90 days and will be keeping under 2000 calories at weekends.

How did everyone's weekends go? Did you manage to stick to the diets?

I managed to go for 1700 calories both days, no alcohol and a two mile walk yesterday. I feel so much better this Monday morning for not having had any alcohol over the weekend Smile

It's 10 days in and I've lost 4lbs Grin

Work has been manic but I've still managed about 1200-1300 calories every weekday and it's obviously working.

I've been swimming seven out of the ten days which also entails a two mile walk.

I've been drinking lots of water everyday.

Hope everyone else is getting on okay Smile

Well done you!! That's fab. I seem to be yo-yo-ing up and down the same 2lbs at the moment 😡Have just taken a period though so hoping that's why I've put 1lb back on this week.
Back at work now so getting more steps in per day at least although the staff room biscuit tin is far too tempting!! ☹️

I'm in. I'm going to be 44 at the end of October. This time last year I was 9 st 2. Currently returning from holiday and I'm determined to lose at least 10lb before my birthday as I'm sure I've put a stone on.
I'm going to drink more water, low carb and have joined our leisure centre gym and have my assessment on Tuesday afternoon. I'm going to go to the gym 3 times a week and continue to go to Boogy Bounce every week. I feel fat and grumpy in my size 12 clothes. Doesn't suit me. I'm 5ft 4 and have been a size 10 effortlessly all my life until the last year. I already do 12,000 steps a day - at least but it's my diet I need to change. I love crackers with butter, biscuits and a lovely sandwich!!! But everything in moderation is the key.
I'm also interested in eating within an 8 hour period - can anybody explain this to me?
So far today I've had 2 cups of tea, 2 scrambled eggs and half a tomato. I've drink 1lt of water and an absolutely not hungry.
Anybody got any tips to kick start my metabolism for these first few weeks please?
I will do!!!! If I can be under 9.6stone for October 25th I will be happy! I am a pescatarian. Thanks ladies.

I'd like to join. I've never been on a thread before. I lost over 4 and a half stone previously and kept it off for 3 years and then was bouncing around the scales likes it was a pog ball after my Dad went to heaven. I didn't go up so much that it wasn't manageable, but in last 18 months to 24 I'm back where i started if not heavier. Have recently stayed on my no carb regime for 12 weeks(lost about 15 kilos) and have broken it for the last 7-eating all types of things like its the end of the world(as in if I start a healthy eating regime I won't see food again...as if) and drinking wine. Stressed all the time about my job and a healthy eating regime gives me structure and focus. So fed up of having nothing to wear and most of all the physical problems of having back pain!!.Starting tomorrow...and looking forward to it, as i actually know it works, I'm a real pro at losing...hahaha...: and now i've told everyone.....:-)

Hi cheeseandbiscuits, I found if you eat every 3 hours, no less than 2 and no more than 4, 5 times per day, it keeps your metabolism up....

Thank you dollface ;)
Day 2 of my determined efforts and I had a great day yesterday.
Bought some electric scales so I know exactly how much 30g of houmous etc looks like ;)
Feeling confident I can do this as I am in the zone..........

Well done cheeseandbiscuits.... I bought my salad bowls so I've no excuse tomorrow.... Took all my strength to keep distracted today.... The carb withdrawal is serious.... Started the day with eggs.... So grateful to have coffee
On the "lark" app.... It asks you how your day is and hat you've eaten.... It's a simple app but keeps you occupied for a few minutes logging in your weight or meals. I haven't weighed yet as will best myself up for breaking diet for almost 6/7 weeks so trying to get through a couple of weeks or less before I look at the dreaded scales. Tried on a top in a store "to get me through" my partner said say to yourself you will never be this weight again to help when i got so upset....he is very supportive so at least that
Keep going cheeseandbiscuits and all you girlies!
